Hi eds not sure if this has been answered but is Can due back any time soon? Cheers.

Truthhurts

{Ed001's Note - no.}

1.) 25 Apr 2018 20:37:41
the truth does hurt, I think that Can has played his last game for Liverpool,
I wonder what he would think if we get to the Champions League Final .

2.) 25 Apr 2018 21:11:06
You mean 'when' happy?

3.) 26 Apr 2018 08:58:48
Did I hear this right. Can to Man U is a done deal?! I seriously hope not, that would be a really poor show by Can if true!

4.) 26 Apr 2018 14:26:34
I really hope that your right Salah, but you must grab another goal in Rome .

5.) 26 Apr 2018 15:56:59
Don't worry mate I will :)

Thoughts on tomorrow's squad what's people's thoughts?

Truthhurts

1.) 27 Apr 2018 21:15:54
The realist in me says plays as strong a team as possible to secure a top 4 finish, the romantic in me says rest our best players and go all out for european glory.

2.) 27 Apr 2018 21:19:20
We don't have the luxury of being able to rest too many players, rest a couple but play a strong team including Salah and Bobby starting given Mane's injury and get them off when we score a couple of goals.

3.) 27 Apr 2018 21:25:30
Karius, Trent, Gomez, Van Dijk, Klavan, Moreno, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Ings.

That’s the team that’s going around online. The guy is usually right when it comes to lineups.

4.) 27 Apr 2018 21:35:20
Karius, Clyne (as much as I hate to say it), Gomez, VVD, Moreno, Wihnaldum, Hendo, Woodburn, Salah, Firmino Ings.

I'd be happy to see TAA in midfield as well, it'll be interesting to see how he gets on but I'd prefer to save him for next week.

5.) 27 Apr 2018 21:54:16
Salah will play, he wants the goals.

My opinion, play a strong team, get a 3 goal lead and then bring the fringe players on. 👏.

6.) 27 Apr 2018 22:36:54
Tthe form salah is in would think he has to play. He is in that once in a lifetime kind of form, so just keep him unleashed.

7.) 27 Apr 2018 22:37:49
We should get used to competing on two fronts, for the future.

8.) 27 Apr 2018 23:44:52
Karius clyney klavan gomez vvd Moreno wiji milli salah bobby ingsy.

9.) 27 Apr 2018 23:52:28
Salah will play. Klopp knows Rushies record is in his sights. There’s no way he’s going to risk upsetting the one player than can secure number 6. Mo will start and come off when he’s bagged a couple.

10.) 28 Apr 2018 00:15:14
Our match against Roma is on Wednesday night and there is a decent GAP till then. I am sure Klopp will go for a strong team, so he can rest some players next week.

11.) 28 Apr 2018 00:48:04
I think WYred was the guy to ask about recent lineups. Was spot on in advance of other recent matches. Any news mate?

12.) 28 Apr 2018 01:50:43
It's mad how much we worry about players playing 2 or 3 games when they have played 40 something all year.
Not a fan of Bobby salah and ings playing together. Hopefully if ings gets another start he's up front. Not a winger.

13.) 28 Apr 2018 03:13:28
I’d go

Karius
Trent - Lovren - Klavan - Robbo
Milner - Gini - Woodburn
Salah - Firmino - Solanke

I’d get Gomez on for Trent and Ings on for Solanke later in the game.

Simple question do we have the worst midfield in top six?
I was going to ask about worst keepers but that's just obvious.

Truthhurts

1.) 28 Jan 2018 09:16:42
Good question. I think we are joint worst with Arsenal.

So if you take our midfield 3 of Can Wij and AOC that started against WBA, would the other midfield trios of the top 6 our perform ours.? I would say most likely (apart from Arsenal although it’s close) .

I would happily swap any of Ctiy’s Utd’s Chelsea’s and Spurs’ midfield with ours as a straight swap. I think it would be hard to argue against that.

Arsenal I probably wouldn’t though. Of their midfield I think Ozil is the only one who could get in our team (I have secretly always rated him and never truly understood all the abuse that comes his way) . But it’s too close to call over all so I shall say it’s a tie.

Red Sandman.

2.) 28 Jan 2018 09:35:16
I'd put put our midfield 3rd behind Chelsea and City. our midfield has been fantastic for large chunks of this season imo. defensive deficiency and prone to errors yes, but they have held their own more than last season imo.

3.) 28 Jan 2018 10:03:26
Really 3Rd? Wow very interesting.

4.) 28 Jan 2018 10:16:13
Faithinworks you’re deluded. Are you seriously telling me that our bunch of also rans are better than United or Spurs? None of ours would make their starting elevens.

5.) 28 Jan 2018 10:16:13
Faithinworks you’re deluded. Are you seriously telling me that our bunch of also rans are better than United or Spurs? None of ours would make their starting elevens.

6.) 28 Jan 2018 10:39:45
ye truth, fully! although I must say I like manU's midfield for their system.
but I like how we play versus them, so a bit of a homer call on ranking our midfield above them.

on that point it's a bit hard to make the comparisons cos each team is set up specifically for them.

7.) 28 Jan 2018 10:50:28
it's just an opinion mate. we've run both those teams ragged over the last 2 and a bit seasons, so it's doesn't seem right to say that our midfield isn't as good as theirs. Our midfield is getting the Alberto Moreno treatment now. suffering from stereotyped and biased self-fulfilling prophecies. there will be nothing good that this midfield can do for some fans, even tho they have carried us this far. I agree we need to improve on it, but I'm not giving up on them. and hopefully others at the stadium don;t give up on them either and give them the support they need.

8.) 28 Jan 2018 11:35:38
Did we run Spurs midfield ragged. I must have missed that watching the 4 goals they stuck past us.

9.) 28 Jan 2018 13:51:54
If you look back at last summer, every man and his dog was saying midfield was our strongest position haha. No-one would listen. It is the worst in the top 10 for me.

10.) 28 Jan 2018 19:08:52
No, we have the worst midfield tactics of the top 6.

24 Jan 2018 08:24:32
Having now calmed down after Mondays game I have to say an this isn't a knee jer reaction y the way is that we still need to buy a couple players. I looked at our bench on Monday an to be honest it's very weak. We brought on lallana, ings not a goal between them all season the only other option was solanke another goalless player. If we really have ambitions to push on for top four, Fa cup, champions league we need better quality back up.

Truthhurts

1.) 24 Jan 2018 09:14:51
word for word from the anfield wrap.

2.) 24 Jan 2018 09:59:10
That's not really the whole "truth" though is it mate. Lallana, Solanke and Ings have about 500 minutes of Premier football combined and just 3 starts from my memory.

Solanke has all 3 of those starts and he was arguably one of the best players on the pitch against Stoke. He created the first goal, and should've created a second if Mane hadn't missed an absolute sitter, 1 on 1. You can't expect much more than that from a 19 year old who isn't getting a chance to build up any form of rhythm.

These players haven't had enough of a chance this season to pass judgement on whether they are good enough back ups or not. That is because Mane and Sturridge have been the preferred back ups before now, and they have plenty of goals between them (12). With Coutinho leaving, Mane now gets regular first team football again and Lallana assumes the role of back up now he's fit, whilst Sturridge potentially leaving gives Ings a chance to show us what he can do, finally.

When Henderson is fit, Gini will be another option on the bench. I have absolute faith in Lallana, Ings, Solanke, Arnold, Woodburn, Gini, Moreno, Lovren and Klavan to be our back ups or come off the bench. My only worry is that we don't really have a midfielder who can come on and shore us up as a team to see out a game. Milner is no Lucas, and he should be replaced so we have all bases covered. It doesn't necessarily have to be a destroyer like Lucas, it could be a player who will just isn't a total headless chicken. Hopefully we can still push through the deal for Keita before the end of the window, just to give us a bit more depth in that area, as he'd probably take Can out of the starting XI, so Emre can be that destroyer on the bench.

You can't just say "they've got no goals" without any context or elaboration. It's a lazy statement that doesn't tell the story of why they have no goals. These mostly aren't players who been blessed with 10-15 starts this season. They're mostly players just returning from injury, or who have been getting 5 minutes here and there when a game is dead and the tempo has slowed down to a walking pace. The players who have been the main back ups so far (Sturridge, Mane, Milner, Arnold, Klavan, Moreno etc) actually have a decent number of goals and assists. Klopp is freshening up the squad though by moving on Sturridge and Coutinho and as he has said, giving the players already at the club a chance.

I agree with him. Give them a chance first, then if they let us down, we can say we need more quality on the bench. Lallana was a first team player last season, and Ings is a proven double figures striker at Premier League level. If you don't want Woodburn, Arnold and Solanke to get chances off the bench, we should probably just sell them now before we ruin another bunch of kids careers. Otherwise they'll join Teixeira, Grujic, Markovic and Ilori on the scrap heap of talented young players who never got a chance, and were totally now managed by Liverpool.

3.) 24 Jan 2018 12:10:13
Brilliant reply, MK. Context is needed . We cannot keep saying that youth should be given a chance and then imply that they are no longer good enuff after we lose one game from 19. Both those statements cannot be correct at the same time, I'm sorry. We also cannot say that we have a good squad through out our unbeaten run and suddenly say it is not deep or good enuff anymore after one loss. Again, both those statements cannot be correct at the same time.

Also, you cannot expect Ings and Lallana who are regaining fitness and are clearly rusty, to score goals in a desperate match. We were poor vs Swansea, end of story. No need pointing fingers at this or that player or what could/ should/ would have happened. We deserved nothing from that game and that was what we got based on the perf. or lack thereof. The response is what matters now and not the finger-pointing. Over to Klopp and the players, IMO.

4.) 24 Jan 2018 12:31:02
Agreed BRover. Only players to blame for the Swansea defeat are Firmino, Mane, and Salah for all missing a clear cut chance.

Everton the gift that keeps on giving 😂.

2.) 13 Jan 2018 19:23:04
Didn't Spurs put 4 past you at Wembley?

3.) 13 Jan 2018 19:25:29
I think he was referring to the fact that we needed Everton to do us a favour tonight against Spurs scholes.

4.) 13 Jan 2018 19:28:16
4 defeats in 2 weeks 😁.

5.) 13 Jan 2018 19:41:26
Isn’t this the LIVERPOOL rumours site? c'mon reds don’t act like them ay.

6.) 13 Jan 2018 19:43:50
@deredmen your correct but these Mancs aren't really football people so I just laugh to myself and think how can they go on about anything when all’s they do is park the bus and blame everyone else the officials other managers instead of sorting out the real problems I hate Man U with a passion 🤮.

7.) 13 Jan 2018 19:47:30
At least we tried to play football. Unlike Everton. The wheels on Sam’s bus have fallen off.

8.) 13 Jan 2018 20:00:16
Relying on a team who cheered every goal City put past them as to them, it meant LFC may not win the PL, is like believing in pixie dust.

Unfortunately, Everton's season has now become in function of how our team progresses. Shankly or Paisley was right (don't know which one) when he said, "If you wanna know how LFC's season is going, ask an Everton fan".

9.) 13 Jan 2018 20:05:02
(Btw, feel desperately sorry for Ed025 for having that dinosaur manage his boys, Ed025 is a decent sort and deserves better) .

10.) 13 Jan 2018 20:13:06
Did they have a shot on target today?

11.) 13 Jan 2018 20:19:41
Good to see Utd fans popping over for a creep.

12.) 13 Jan 2018 20:55:12
United fans have an empathy with Everton at the minute, being out classed by your city rivals 😁.

13.) 13 Jan 2018 20:57:47
It’s the banter page, ripping Everton is what this page should be about. lol.

14.) 13 Jan 2018 20:15:01
Ed025 is the type of guy who deserves to change his allegiance to the red side of Merseyside.

{Ed025's Note - its bad taurus...but it can never be that bad mate.. :)

15.) 13 Jan 2018 21:05:50
Allardyce “Maybe we need to be more boring”

😂😂😂

What’s that about leopards and spots?

16.) 13 Jan 2018 21:30:00
Today was a win for everton. Tommorrow liverpool can potentially drop to fifth. I can hear them partying right now.

17.) 13 Jan 2018 22:08:24
Can't be bothered with criticising Everton, but feel for them when their manager was quoted as saying that maybe they attacked too much.

They had no shots on target and deserve better than that.

Problem is, it appears that the board and fans want more enterprising football, but I can't help but think that's not the managers way and he has been found out big time.

18.) 13 Jan 2018 22:12:17
Have to agree poor Ed025 doesn't deserve to have to support that muck.

{Ed025's Note - things can only get better barry..

19.) 13 Jan 2018 23:41:23
Come on Boys, be fair.2 cup finals in a few weeks is tiring work! They were never going to be able to maintain that level of effort! If i was a blue, I'd want to know why they couldn't try that hard the other 36 weeks of the season! But eh, at least United are above us! Ooh ah cantona again anyone!

20.) 13 Jan 2018 23:45:43
I am sure Everton would also like to play the game called football. But unfortunately their squad does not have anybody capable of playing the beautiful game of football so all they do is show up and get humiliated. Their participation trophy should be just around the corner.

21.) 13 Jan 2018 23:36:33
Did they get over the half way line today?

22.) 14 Jan 2018 00:08:19
I would of actually rather Everton won today. Tottenham level on points and GD now.

23.) 14 Jan 2018 00:57:44
Should we not have been hoping for an Everton win? Spurs are probably our main rivals for 4th and Everton are our neighbours.

24.) 14 Jan 2018 01:49:27
Haha speaking of Everton fans cheering city goals against them, I remember that Ross Barkley hit a screamer from outside the box to hit the lead. He was probably thinking "shit that wasnt meant to happen"

Folks it's not the last two performances is it really it's been since the Brighton game we have been very average to poor. Things can spire out of control very easily an this season could end up being quite a poor season. Forget 12th man this is down to players pulling their finger out.
