I would let him go. Good player, yes, but he's not top drawer. Great on his day but that only happens every 5-6 games. Won nothing with him here despite having league nearly won 13/ 14, 3 lost semi-finals and 2 lost finals. Can't remember him having a great game in any of those and went missing in pretty much all of them. I know he scored against Villa in the semi but was woeful and although he scored against City in the final he also missed a penalty. Top players influence and win big games so he's not for me when you have £100 million on the table and a team to improve. And people talking of statues if he stays are having a laugh when we have players of the ilk of Dalglish, Gerrard, Barnes, Souness, Keegan, St. John, Hunt to name just a few that won everything. Thanks Phil, but give me a right back, centre half and a top centre midfielder to dominate a game and I'd trade you in all day mate.

OR you obviously can't recall the fact that Phillips first appearance was when he was awarded MOM against West Ham. He hardly played before Christmas and the games he has missed since Chsistmas have invariably ended in defeat or draws. The lad has not had the opportunities he deserved and if you believe that Fabinho/ Henderson/ Williams/ Kabak were full of CB experience compared to the apparently untested Phillips then you don't understand the issue.

Phillips is a tough, no nonsense, agressive defender that is better than anything else we've had available since the main 3 got injured but ended up 7th/ 8th choice. Possibly the best header of a ball at the club. Started 14 league games with 10 wins and 2 draws with only 9 conceded. Points per game is better than Man City can achieve at the end of the season. Lack of trust cos he is not Franco Baresi on the ball cost us big time.

I would hardly call it desperation to buy success. I don't care what other clubs have done but mine has seen over the last 4 years money spent on stadium improvements, new training academy being built, 3 strikers that have scored 150 plus goals over last 2 years, player of the year this year, goalkeeper we have craved and other talented young players that have increased in value. Seems to me that club are building a good infrastructure and although this has not yielded a trophy to date, 2 European finals, a semi that could yet be another final and a points tally that has only ever been bettered once in history and could still win the league is not to be sneezed at. The club is in a much better position than at any point in many years and I am happy with how we are moving forward and think Klopp is doing a fantastic job despite the fact that Ed02 has an almost Evertonian bitterness towards him. Let's hope the boys can roar us home tonight and make it a fitting end to a brilliant season.

You didn't watch the same game as me. Matip was by far the better of the 2 centre half's and it was Van Dijk who should have been on the cover for goal 1 when he saw Suarez make the run and was standing watching for goal 2. Matip like Henderson is an easy target to blame when things go wrong and has been excellent in the run since February. Unfortunately Gomez is never a right back and is positionally poor to play out wide, losing his player coming behind him frequently so Arnold would have been a better option with hindsight, bearing in mind the amount of possession we had in good areas. I don't believe all is lost and a goal up at half time and not conceding next week will give us half a chance. Let's make sure Suarez does not get the kind of reception ex-players receive and give him the stick he deserves.

They all did the same at Tranmere and Wigan this week. Overpaid and arrogant. Went the golf at Birkdale on Sunday and 99% of the golfers stopped for photos and signed anything put in front of them. As well as our teams of the 70's and 80's being great teams the players were also in the main great fellas who would be happy to share their time and sign autographs. This lot can learn a lot from much more successful sportsman than they will ever be but I doubt they will.
