Square Tomato, any news on the Gomez staying/ loan rumours?
Appreciated as always mate.

WelshBoyDave

1.) 17 Jun 2017 09:07:47
He's come out and said himself that he is staying as he has been assured he will feature this season.

2.) 17 Jun 2017 10:52:38
nothing's changed as far as I know he's not going on loan and like I said before klopp wants him to push lovren and he's ahead of Klavan, Newcastle want him on loan as do Bournemouth but that would be a bad idea, Huddersfield would be the best option because of someone at the club already, all that being said I can't see him going anywhere I still expect clyne to leave though personally.

3.) 17 Jun 2017 11:23:47
Square. Cheers buddy
Always appreciated.

4.) 17 Jun 2017 11:45:20
Cheers ST. Hope you're right.

5.) 17 Jun 2017 12:34:22
Evidently Gomez pulled out of the England U21 squad to preserve his fitness as this pre season is so important to him.

6.) 17 Jun 2017 12:52:13
So st u wait until the news about gomez has already been released n then choose 2 tell us? 🤔🤔🤔.

{Ed001's Note - he had told us this months ago, why should he repeat himself because most of you only read the crap in tabloids?}

7.) 17 Jun 2017 13:23:09
Good grief Hardy, keep up!

8.) 17 Jun 2017 13:27:59
He said that long ago mate.

9.) 17 Jun 2017 13:52:17
Thanks for the info ST. Hope he gets some game time next season.

10.) 17 Jun 2017 13:58:58
And he only said because he was asked! ST is one of the more respectable honest posters on here and people like you just want to have a dig. Give the guy a break Hardy.

11.) 17 Jun 2017 14:43:08
Thanks for the back up guys lol.

12.) 17 Jun 2017 14:45:21
Must of missed that, my bad! Apologies.

13.) 17 Jun 2017 15:00:50
Don't rest on your Laurels, Hardy 😉.

14.) 17 Jun 2017 15:38:44
That's another fine mess, Hardy.

15.) 17 Jun 2017 16:18:25
I'm often on here arguing that Clyne is a decent player for liverpool. That being said, I would welcome any improvement in the position. I think we need to be careful on who we sign before shipping Clyne out. Say what you like about him at least he has some premier league pedigree. I think there are other priorities.

16.) 17 Jun 2017 19:51:48
Must have missed your last update so many thanks Square.

08 Apr 2015 18:48:24
Ed01, don't suppose you have any info on what Garbutt is likely doing this summer? Don't know if he signed a new deal or not,
Cheers mate.

WelshBoyDave

{Ed001's Note - he has an offer on the table from Everton, he knows there is interest from Liverpool and Spurs, probably others too. I know West Ham were keen on him before they signed Cresswell and Southampton enquired before signing Bertrand, I would think both would take him if they could.

As for what he is likely to do, I have no idea, it is a personal choice he has to make, which is impossible to be sure. You can speak to them one day and they are all hyped about one club, then a week later they have had a better offer and change their mind.}

06 Feb 2014 08:13:58
I very much hope the echo is mistaken.
Liverpool planning to use Borini as a makeweight for A.Johnson?
Please dear lord no.
And wouldn't we expect Borinis transfer fee to be higher than that of Johnson? This is Johnson's first decent run of form since he moved.
Add into the mix than Borini is a lot younger and highly rated in Italy, this seems like terrible journalism.

Ed001 or Ed02 please tell me it's tosh?

WelshBoyDave

{Ed001's Note - not aware of any current Liverpool interest.}

25 Mar 2013 15:51:42
Hey Eds, I was wondering if Juventus's interest in Podolski was real? And if this would have any impact on their interest in Suarez?

Thanks! {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any confirmed interest in Podolski.}

WelshBoyDave

01 Mar 2013 13:06:43
Question for Ed002 if he's around,
If Bayern or Juventus were to bag Lewandowski, do you think that would affect their intrest in Suarez?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Neither has an interest in Lewandowski.}

Just for fun. If you could go back and stop a footballing moment happening, which would you choose?
I was going to say I'd stop Lucas from doing his ligaments in the game at Stamford bridge because he was in imperious form, but in terms of importance I'd take Hendo off before he got a red card that could potentially have cost us the title.
Or the Stevie slip because I don't want to see that gif ever again.

WelshBoyDave

1.) 09 Jun 2020 13:11:21
Michael Thomas.

2.) 09 Jun 2020 13:40:47
It would have to be Macheda vs aston villa.

3.) 09 Jun 2020 14:07:28
Definitely hendos sending off with stevie a close second.

4.) 09 Jun 2020 15:27:12
Gerrards slip was the best thing that could’ve happened now. If it didn’t happen, Brendan wins the league and becomes legendary and unsackable. He peaks at one title and United get Klopp and win the UCL signing Van Dijk.
We end up with Maguire and Chasing top 4 trying to convince everyone Bruno Fernandez is the next Zidane 😂.

5.) 09 Jun 2020 15:29:09
Macheda that day still hurts so much
Or cantona scoring fa cup final it looked like the ball went in slow motion and rob jones just couldn’t stop it.

6.) 09 Jun 2020 16:03:03
Ronny Rosenthal passing the ball in to an empty net instead of smacking the crossbar.

7.) 09 Jun 2020 19:41:05
Love it, LiverpoolFC8.

8.) 10 Jun 2020 02:09:21
Ramos' wrestling move vs salah. We had em pegged back while mo was on.

9.) 11 Jun 2020 04:39:04
I agree with the macheda shout that really did hurt at the time. Not so much the Henderson red card because even he was a loss to us, the way the Chelsea game was played out I don't think he would have automatically prevented that result.

I also have horrible memories of that 2nd half vs Sevilla in Europe final when the positivity that we all had of klopp getting immediate silverware under his belt and exciting summer to possibly build on that turned into the usual crumbling that we had seen under Rodgers and hodgson and that to me felt awful.

23 Jul 2017 13:16:31
If you know me, I like kova kova kovacic, enough of this Naby Keita ding dong and Harry Scousser will agree,
What do you say, home fans?

WelshBoyDave

1.) 23 Jul 2017 14:32:02
four disagrees? some people not been here long enough to get the joke lol.

2.) 23 Jul 2017 14:35:52
Keita is the most dynamic midfield player in Europe . He's a dual cm . Can do the Kante stuff but he's equally as good in the offensive end . He's a huge talent . Would suit us perfectly . The intensive side of the game . Goals assists and breaking things up . The most no brainer target I've ever known .

3.) 23 Jul 2017 18:24:23
Shame we're not going to get him. Need to move on and find someone with a similar style of play and ability, there must be a player as good as him out there.

4.) 24 Jul 2017 12:31:07
Echo, from what you say you sound like you know quite a bit about Keita? Is this just from YouTube clips or have you ever actually seen him play?

06 Jul 2017 18:32:24
Everton fans have complained about signing s**t players nobodies ever heard of.
By targeting Giroud and Rooney, they are combatting this by signing s**t players everyone's heard of.
Sorry Ed025, couldn't resist. :)

WelshBoyDave

{Ed025's Note - very harsh dave.. :)

1.) 06 Jul 2017 19:05:28
I rate Giroud if I'm honest. In the 18 yard box he is as big a threat as anyone else in the league. His hold up play is top notch, his link up play is also under rated, and he has multiple strings to his bow.

Let's not forget that this guy keeps out some great players for France and has one of the best minutes per goal ratios in Europe. Lacazette who has just replaced him at club level can't get near the national team. I think Arsenal are a bit guilty of "the grass is greener" here. I think Lacazette is great, but I don't think he is as good as Giroud. He gets my vote every time I am asked for the most under rated player in the league. He'd be a top class replacement for Lukaku and in an Everton team built around him I'd back him to score 20-25 goals next season.

Rooney on the other hand is an over paid, over rated potato. He should've moved to China where the humidity might have helped him lose some weight!

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with much of that MK..

2.) 06 Jul 2017 19:25:05
Ed25, I feel for you right now. The players you have signed may improve you in the long run and tht may be true BUT right now, I would not want any of them at LFC as none of them are better than the ones we already have and yes, Origi is better than Rooney right now as we speak. Here's to hoping.

{Ed025's Note - dont worry about us brussels we will be fine, i suspect koeman and walsh may know just a tad more than you about player recruitment mate so i will side with them if you dont mind.. :)

3.) 06 Jul 2017 19:26:29
Rooney is crap, Giroud is Ok! Ll assent will surprise a few and I don't think they are done! Are they! First real push in the window under the new owners, it's a solid start! You are not going to get Messi and Ronaldo with last 15 years of No success history!

{Ed025's Note - you worry about liverpool IYKM and not the champions elect.. :)

4.) 06 Jul 2017 20:35:18
In all honesty without looking through shankly red tinted glasses, koeman has his own style of play and obviously see's the players he gets fitting into his system. That aside I genuinely think Everton will be there or there about the top 4 this season. New signings aside I think bolasie will be good as well.

5.) 07 Jul 2017 03:05:57
The Lacazette / Giroud situation is an interesting conundrum. Giroud keeps Laca out of the french national side, yet Wenger pays through the nose to replace the former with the latter.

6.) 06 Jul 2017 21:01:05
holy rubbish ed! champions elect? you win the joke off we were going to have!

{Ed025's Note - if leicester can do it waqas then why not us?.. :)

19 Jun 2017 15:41:23
If we were actually willing (and that's a big if) to pay VVD £200,000 a week, it seems wages won't be a stumbling block this summer.
Whether the club wants to pay it or not is another matter, I suppose with the new to deal and potential champions league, income has risen by a fair bit, although it would be presumptuous to buy assuming we'll qualify.

19 Jun 2017 09:17:55
I think Klopps 'won't go back in for Dortmund players' is an agreement that doesn't count when the player is want away.

Dortmund don't want Klopp enticing (and probably tapping up) their players but if they know a player will be moving on, our money is as green as everyone else's.

Having said that, I'll eat my sock if we sign Aubamayang.

WelshBoyDave

1.) 19 Jun 2017 09:49:58
They would be happy to offload him to England and wouldn't give a toss about Klopp or his promises. You are taking about serious money and why wouldn't they consider it for a player who has decided to move on. I don't know who is talking this BS ( Klopp won't sign his ex players ) on this page. The man tapped up two players in two years!

2.) 19 Jun 2017 11:14:03
Rhst clause with Dortmund was probably put in place because they knew only so well of Klopp's sneaky ways.

3.) 19 Jun 2017 15:51:57
Harry, the person talking that "BS" is Klopp himself so you can take up the issue with him. Alos, I don't want Auba here cos he wanted to go to PSG as he was offerred insane wages hence, he is just looking for a big pay day. Now that the deal went to crap, his agents are now sounding off LFC as a likely destination due to the Klopp link. Anyone with a brain can figure that out. We will not ;pay the money nor his insane wages so moral of the story? Not happening and I am more than cool with that.

You cannot say 'Swansea quoted Everton £50 million for Sigurddson and as such we want £120 million for Coutinho please'.

Madness. Half of you wouldn't know what to do in a transfer window without looking at other clubs as a guide.

Pfft, he should be so lucky.
I can't imagine a player of his calibre saying
" oh look, Liverpool are on the blower, best keep them waiting another 8 weeks ".

I don't know, we've seen how loans are going for most of our players. I'd argue training at Liverpool and playing 25/ 30 games a season is better experience for him. If the coach who's loaned him decides he doesn't rate him 10 games in, he'll have a much worse time of it. Another coach has no investment in his development.

I'd argue the only time a loan is worthwhile is when the player is going to start every week, putting them into someone's squad to rotate with isn't any better than rotating with us.

I think ( awaits being shouted at for being wrong) that Ed01 May have mentioned a few years back that Bobbys contract was very performance based so it could be true.

I don’t rate him. The amount of games I’ve seen him
In and if he isn’t getting the ball to feet within ten yards of goal he’s a bystander for 80 minutes.

I remember him being out of a match against Arsenal and I was gutted. For a very small period of time, he was a very good player.
Ed01, what happens to players like O'hara, Pennant and Konchesky? Have the legs all gone that much to drop down so low?
