Reading posts about the ticket prices. I tried to get one for the game Saturday but the cheapest was £130 in the Swansea end, £130! Needless to say i'd settled to watch it on the box instead until I had a phone call this morning off the owner of our local electrical wholesalers who kindly offered me his season hospitality ticket with the Swansea prawn sandwich brigade as he's away. Well it's better than on the settee with the wife nagging and my 2 year old running riot I suppose! Anyone here making the trip down to South Wales?

WelshRed84

1.) 29 Sep 2016 13:18:09
Im already here prawn sandwich in hand.

2.) 29 Sep 2016 14:02:07
Ah that's why your called swanseasred. I see.

3.) 29 Sep 2016 14:06:46
I'd rather watch it on the telly. See more.

4.) 29 Sep 2016 15:33:47
I kind of agree with you there whenever I watch a live game I record it and watch it back as you miss so much. They usually have a tv in the hospitality suite though so I'll get to watch replays there!

Congratulations to our very own VVD on picking up his award. Very well deserved. Now for the double to round off an excellent season! YNWA.

1.) 29 Apr 2019 08:24:25
Never forget Nevilles face when we signed him.

2.) 29 Apr 2019 09:43:29
What a brilliant signing he’s been even for that amount. Well deserved. Congratulations VVD👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.

3.) 29 Apr 2019 12:22:26
Did he get pfa player of the year?

{Ed025's Note - have you been on mars for the weekend robbie.. :)

4.) 29 Apr 2019 13:38:27
Robbie's line must have been a big one!

5.) 29 Apr 2019 19:04:30
Lol rugby. Fair play, he's earned it. Everyone can see its him who has made liverpool so much better this season. Alisson too and fabhino but big V has been the man.

6.) 29 Apr 2019 20:04:24
I agree RL, he's been imperious. That stat of no one dribbling past him is indicative of his season.

Hoping for some good news on Salah today. Seems like one of the nicest men about and like Ed 001 said, it’s strange not seeing him here first thing in the morning after the review of the day.
Even when he’s having a debate he’s almost apologetic, a very nice bloke and seems to be a true gent.
Great to see how football can pull people (from all clubs) together when something like this happens.
YNWA Salah, all our thoughts and prayers are with you mate.

1.) 21 Aug 2018 08:30:49
Very well said. I have had some great chats with the man. Even though we tend to disagree he is always understanding of my posts and never tries to force his opinion which to me shows a good character.
Get well soon dude.

Just come back from a night with Robbie Fowler and Jason Macateer. just to say, two very funny men, a great night worth every penny!

I saw them with Didi a couple of years ago. Good show.

Been following this site a few years now and often wondered how it started, who started it etc. How you editors all became affiliated and how you divide the time editing between you. If you have 5 mins spare be more than greatful. Enjoy the rest of your weekend folks, 3 points be lovely tomorrow!

WelshRed84

{Ed001's Note - myself and Ed033 started it when he was at uni doing website design and wanted to do a website, I think it was a uni project. I came up with the idea for the original football-rumours site. That was 2001, just before my daughter was born and I never even had a comp or mobile phone then. I would spend my evenings getting info, then go to work and, when I should have been working, I would be busy writing articles for the site. Ed033 would then take the scraps of paper and type them up, one each day. It just grew from there really. I can remember many times, after a few days of not sleeping due to getting a PC and sitting up adding articles, researching stuff etc I would fall asleep stood up at work. I am not sure what that says about me that no one ever noticed I was sleeping most of my work shift!

As for dividing the time, we have a widget and the posts show up on there, whoever gets them, gets them, so to speak. I am the one up first, usually, while Ed018 or Ed007 tend to be the ones on latest. Inbetween is just whoever gets them though. If someone else is about and picks them up, I will just leave the editing for a bit, unless something is held directly aimed at me, while I work on articles or the videos I am putting together. But I personally pretty much will be editing from the moment I get up until I go to sleep. If I am at home the comp is always on so I can keep an eye on things. If I go out I edit on my phone. It has become extremely difficult to switch off from working to be honest now.}

1.) 06 May 2017 19:32:28
May I ask ed how you and ed002 came into contact?

{Ed001's Note - through the site. He was initially a visitor to the site a long long time ago. I have learnt a lot from her.}

2.) 06 May 2017 19:42:32
Cheers Ed bet you never thought it would take off like this! It hard to appreciate the time involved until you put it in writing saying your even editing when out. How did Ed 2, 25 and the rest become involved if you don't mind mate?

{Ed001's Note - I never imagined it mate. I can remember getting excited when we reached 100 pageviews in total!

The others were all visitors to the site who ended up getting involved. Ed002 for his knowledge and Ed025 to provide a counterpoint to that knowledge with his lack of it ;-)

Seriously, the sites couldn't be done without them. All of them are great in their own way, even Ed007, and provide unique input from different viewpoints. I include all those that have helped edit the sites over the years in that. I am grateful to all of them for the help they have given.}

3.) 06 May 2017 19:54:31
Including her vital statistics, ed? Would you be willing to share those with the world and watch it burn?

{Ed001's Note - unfortunately no, numbers that large are far too difficult to type correctly.}

4.) 06 May 2017 19:58:17
When did he became her?

{Ed001's Note - after she became he.}

5.) 06 May 2017 20:08:29
I liked ed091. Shame he doesn't post any more. Always found him insightful and fair.

{Ed001's Note - I bet he was your favourite....}

6.) 06 May 2017 20:32:52
I really appreciate all of the Eds but the wit and knowledge from Ed002 are fun reads. Ed001 should be an advisor to LFC as we would rule Europe again with him involved with the club.

{Ed033's Note - You could write to or email LFC and tell them you think Ed001 should be an advisor.

7.) 06 May 2017 20:58:20
Nice work. all of you. And thanks again.

8.) 06 May 2017 21:24:14
I wonder whatever brought someone with the vast football knowledge of Ed02 onto a rumours site. Ed02 if you're around?

{Ed002's Note - Free love.}

9.) 06 May 2017 22:31:32
I seem to recall being an open rumour site and not specifically for a team.

Either way, there was one real bitter that wound me up every day.

Rubbed it in that I was a wool.

Difficult to take.

Anyone remember?

10.) 06 May 2017 23:02:13
Have any of you actually worked for clubs? Do you recruit people based on contacts, how they post or word of mouth?

{Ed002's Note - There is a complete mix of backgrounds. I am, as you know, a rodeo clown and part time gentleman adventurer. The others are a mix of chimney sweeps and florists - many of which work together at trugs.co.uk}

11.) 06 May 2017 23:44:44
Really interesting read to hear how it all came together. Fair play, well done and thank you.

{Ed002's Note - And none of the Eds get paid except Ed007 who we see as a hirsute charity case. For years and years he had always boasted about the money he saved on carpet slippers through having incredibly hairy feet. And this was a wonderful soft hair that he would allow other Eds to comb in repayment for their bringing items that would improve his collection of Victorian napkin rings to him. Eventually he could no longer buy shoes due to the depth of his luscious foot hair and we new something had to be done. We had a Kickstarter campaign and have all agreed to pay our plentiful salaries in to a fund to address Ed007's foothair problem and to allow him to work with young girls to ensure it never happens to them either.}

12.) 06 May 2017 20:59:36
When are you going to promote Harry to an Ed?

{Ed001's Note - you know the day hell freezes over? Well it will be thirty years after that.}

13.) 06 May 2017 21:00:32
you all do a great job! I cannot imagine waking up and your site not being here, its become part of my daily routine, thanks to you all. Long may it continue.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know what I would do without it. I used to dread going to work, now I get out of bed with a purpose.}

14.) 06 May 2017 21:58:28
Congratulations and well done with all of it. Your site has been the first i look at every day for so many years now. Thanks to all the Eds for all the hard work. I would be so uneducated about football without this site.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Mark. That means a hell of a lot mate, seriously.}

15.) 06 May 2017 22:31:27
Is it true ''harry' is the only paid Ed?

{Ed001's Note - we couldn't possibly pay him enough. Trust me.}

16.) 07 May 2017 08:09:39
Can only echo the sentiments above. This is my home page on my browser haha!

Thanks to all the Eds and especially those doing it for free love.

My partner hates you all because in her words "we can't have a conversation because you're always on that stupid football site", but if it ever starts to make things difficult I have the willpower to walk away. She is fine by herself anyway.

{Ed001's Note - tell her we all love her too....}

17.) 07 May 2017 08:12:02
Do you have plans for the site ed's?
Anything that you would like to do with it?

{Ed001's Note - lots mate. There are loads of plans to improve it. Personally now I am working on some short videos, from sports docs to interviews to well just about anything sports based. Ed033 is currently working on notifications, so you know when people have replied. Though I am not sure when that will ever be ready as he has been working on it for what feels like 10 years, though I am sure it is nothing like that long!}

18.) 07 May 2017 01:44:12
Haha Ed02 most amusing. I'm worried in case us site users have finally broken your mind. Nice to see some light hearted insane humour lol.

19.) 07 May 2017 10:13:54
If any of the EDD'S, r around, please ignore my ignorance but r these sites just for football, or is there any for the likes of horse racing, tennis, cricket etc.

{Ed001's Note - there are lots of different sites now mate. There are drop down menus for the other sites near the top of the page. There is all sorts there, from movies to cricket to US sports.}

20.) 07 May 2017 11:18:16
Maybe all of us should post about how we al got hooked on this drug, I mean, this website!
Thanks to all you Eds for the work you do. I can't imagine not waking up to this website. Eds 001 and 002 are legends, but even as a Red, I really really like Ed025!
Thank you all.

{Ed001's Note - don't worry mate, we will keep that last bit between ourselves!}

21.) 07 May 2017 11:24:52
Thanks for all your hard work eds. This is my first and only source for all things football. I look forward to using it for other sports too. Maybe it's just me but I could swear other media sites and news teams use your comments to make their stories. Some of it is literally word for word. Perhaps that's a testament to how highly you are regarded. You make the others look like a bunch of amateurs. Thanks again. 👍👍.

{Ed001's Note - thank you RS.}

04 May 2017 13:36:49
Just popped over to the Man Utd page for a look and I couldn't believe my eyes. There was a Liverpool fan on there wishing them good luck for tonight and saying they hope they win it. what has the world come to? I hope they get embarrassed both home and away. No Liverpool fan should ever want them to win! One Manc fan even had the audacity to mouth off about Liverpool in his reply about us getting all English teams thrown out of European competitions!

WelshRed84

1.) 04 May 2017 14:09:55
It's good for English football if they win it, though.

2.) 04 May 2017 14:00:35
Iago Aspas for the hat trick! Rooney to fall over and miss a 1st minute penalty that ultimately causes irreparable mental damage to the rest of their season.

3.) 04 May 2017 14:20:19
Only until the end of the season, MK?

4.) 04 May 2017 14:32:44
I don't really care but if they lose the final by a disputed penalty in injury time of extra time - that would be the ideal scenario 😎.

5.) 04 May 2017 14:57:11
It is potentially good for LFC in that they may take their eye off the league challenge and slip up again in a way that helps get top 4.

6.) 04 May 2017 15:19:12
I don't want them to get champs league. With their money they can pretty much buy anyone, only the lack of champs league might stop them. Don't want them getting in a position to be winning the league again for 20odd years like us! 😂.

7.) 04 May 2017 16:07:38
I am that guilty party but let me explain:

I am a football fan, I am a fan of the premier league, but what was once the dominant league in global football is running the risk of slipping into the peripheries as we have had little success within the major tournaments for too long. European success is paramount to us keeping the 4 spots. Imagine if we finished 4th this year but didn't qualify for champions league because we had lost out final place last year? Nah, not for me.

Furthermore, some say they don't want UTD to have CL next year due to the players they could obtain. Firstly, as much as we hate it, they are one of the biggest names in sport, they will attract global superstars with or without CL. Additionally, don't get me wrong, I want us to win everything, but I want us to do that by beating the best, that's what will make it exciting. I would never wish to be in the position PSG or Bayern have found themselves in recently.

Finally, look at Chelsea this year, having no CL is a blessing in the race to Prem success, do we really want UTD being able to cruise to the title next year?

It would be boring if UTD slipped into obscurity, those derby days are what makes it such a great sport.

8.) 04 May 2017 16:18:15
I work with a United fan who is adamant that they will win the Europa League and therefore he doesn't care about the top four anymore. It would be an absolute joy to watch United put all their eggs in the Europa League basket and then drop the basket right at the last.

9.) 04 May 2017 16:19:18
Dont't want them mancs doing us any favours that for sure!

10.) 04 May 2017 17:40:04
Cotsi, regardless of how they get on in Europe tonight they have already qualified for Europa through League Cup, personally I'd prefer they had Thurs sun Thurs football than sat tues/ wed footy.

11.) 04 May 2017 18:38:31
I'm with unconditional here, let them have European footy but europa league on a Thursday. The premier league doesn't need Man Utd in the champions league to grow, it's the best league in the world regardless! I'm supporting Celta tonight that's for sure! Then Arsenal on the weekend, then celta next week, then Spurs. you catch my drift.

{Ed025's Note - i get your drift welsh...you are extremely jealous of united..

12.) 04 May 2017 19:12:39
With the amount of money in the Premier League compared to other leagues, there's no chance of English football "slipping into the peripheries".

13.) 04 May 2017 19:53:03
Sorry cotsi but that's just not how it goes. You don't wish success for the enemy regardless of the situation. You're either a foreign fan or you don't suffer any abuse from united fans. I get your thinking, but I don't think it's an immediate risk, I think it will be if England continues to fail in a few years but not now. I don't want united in the CL it means they have even more of a chance of getting top class players and even more of a chance at winning the league, look at the bigger picture. Thursday Sunday is detrimental to any top team, however being in the CL has proven not to be. Who has ever won the league being in the europa. Did any United fan wish we'd win the europa last season? Or maybe you where living under a rock at that point lol.

After that season where Everton legit refused to go out and beat city and their fans hardly celebrated their goals I put love for any of the rivals aside for good. That season I was happy to see Everton challenging for top 4 and actually wanted them to do it, they did not feel the same way about us. Never again will I want another team to do well.

At least you where man enough to admit it.

14.) 04 May 2017 19:53:44
I'd love them to loose the final in the 93rd minutiae 1-0 by a pen from a blatant dive.

Will put mou post match interview on repeat and make a cuppa.

15.) 04 May 2017 20:30:05
Utd getting all the way to the final and losing would be no bad thing either.

16.) 04 May 2017 20:55:57
WHeres that come from Ed 25? No Liverpool fan wants them to do well (except Cotsi) . It's a shame you lot weren't a bit better, we'd be worried about you instead. Instead of trying to win your mini league with the likes of Stoke and WBA you should come and compete with the big boys sometime!

{Ed025's Note - we will do next season welsh..and you can take that to the bank, you seem to be obsessed with wanting united to fail, now i can see the rivalry thing but dont you think it would be more productive to concentrate on your own side instead mate?..

17.) 04 May 2017 21:24:34
Always next season! Of course I want united to fail, I always have, same as they want us to fail mate it's a mutual thing. If we were playing tonight I'd be concentrating on that wouldn't I but we are not so im following Celta. I know a few Man Utd fans and the minute our game finishes, if we've lost I get bombarded with texts gloating, how can I not want them to fail?

18.) 04 May 2017 21:50:08
For me Ed, it's not about wanting united to do bad, more for my reds to do better, by them having difficulties that surely helps our chances, so in conclusion yes want them to do bad haha ;) all typical rival banter
Hope Aaron Lennon gets the necessary help he needs to make a speedy recovery.

{Ed025's Note - im all for the banter UL but sometimes it can turn to hatred, both sets of supporters are equally to blame though as it occurs on both sites, on arron yes its a very sad state of affairs and i know people will think how can a guy with his sort of lifestyle have problems, but mental health knows no bounds and can affect anybody, would anyone have thought gary speed would have committed suicide? the human mind is a very fragile thing and as you so rightly say he needs help and support from as many quarters as possible, its nice to know that people like you care as this sort of thing transcends any sort of rivalry...cheers mate..

19.) 05 May 2017 11:21:05
I think that if we needed man Utd to beat someone on the last day of the season in order for us to win the title, then I may consider being a manc for at least 90 mins. alone at home with no one else watching of course.

what's my point? Better not to speak in absolutes, cos eventually there will come a situation that you will have to then wrestle with the moral high ground you've sat on for so long!

20.) 05 May 2017 09:05:18
I'm with the both of you on the Lennon matter, I've had a family member suffer from mental health issues and it's a horrible illness. Like you say, it doesn't matter what profession your in or how big your bank balance is, the mind can be very fragile. I'm certain he'll receive the help he needs and I hope he can get through this. When things like this happen it puts life in to perspective and makes you see football is just a game (team rivalry Ed 25) and life is precious. Good luck to the lad YNWA.

{Ed025's Note - i echo all of that welsh mate..

21.) 05 May 2017 10:01:55
Thanks ED 1 amazing response as always, and i totally agree, have to look at the positives and the negatives to see the total package, but what i will say is a positive for us, seeing man u in the state there in cause he took his eye of the ball has definitely been a positive for a liverpool fan lol.

I didn’t realise the league went to the team with the highest net spend.
Spending all that money hasn’t really worked for either Arsenal or Everton has it so your theory is flawed Hailstones.
Need to stop being so negative and be a little patient. I’m sure the club has targets but there are a few to move on also. I’m sure they’re working hard to free up some money as well as spend it. It’s the same on here every transfer window.

That would be a failure!
Winning a domestic cup is not a success when your goal is the PL trophy.
Winning the PL would be a successful season, anything else is consolation for us now. The CL was brilliant and I love European nights but still, the PL is the holy grail. I really enjoyed last season and the boys were brilliant, gave everything, but just fell short. Bettering last season is a success in my eyes and the only way to do that is to win the PL title.
