LFC to sign 30 yr old CH Ragnar Klavan for a reported fee of £5 mill from Augsburg.

alan50

{Ed002's Note - Klipperty must have found Roberto Martinez's old hit list.}

1.) 17 Jul 2016 23:07:42
Is he of any quality to ever play past the injury hit first 4 games? £1m a game plus wages etc. Shocking.

2.) 17 Jul 2016 23:23:26
that's the end of wisdom and illori then what a shame we didn't either keep toure or put our faith in a squad player, working out our transfer strategy is like trying to work out the meaning of life, not surprised our rivals fans take the mickey out of us, we either overpay for players were not desperate for yet act stingy for players we could do with, mane and chilwell being the perfect examples in this window.

3.) 18 Jul 2016 00:50:43
So you think we were not lacking a winger? And are holding back paying more money for that left back who has yet to play a premier league game. We want a left back but we will pay the best fee for one that suits. Just because Chilwell might end up being the perfect fit doesn't mean he is the only one that could.

4.) 18 Jul 2016 03:09:50
kopdogs even you have to admit we are so inconsistent in our transfer dealings, so I used mane and chilwell as examples, I am actually very pleased we signed mane mate, but we didn't hesisitate and got it done, arguably you could say we needed a left back more, yet after identifying who we want and being told what to pay, we hesitate even though he comes highly recommended by klopp's best mate. we either pay £10m for chilwell or £25m for hector or we do nothing and start the season with Moreno at left back, all for the sake of £3m.

5.) 18 Jul 2016 14:12:07
Kenny, the ed`s have said that Chilwell may still be signed but he is injured hence, can`t pass a medical which may be why it is taking this long.

17 Jul 2016 15:51:41
Linked with Jeremy Mathieu, hope not.

alan50

1.) 17 Jul 2016 22:47:24
Agreed not required thank you.

25 Jun 2016 22:22:43
Pjaca on for Croatia, have been linked with him.

alan50

25 Jun 2016 20:06:00
Mane has agreed a 4 yr year, now up to the clubs to agree a deal.

alan50

1.) 25 Jun 2016 20:47:06
No he hasn't.

2.) 25 Jun 2016 20:52:56
This is what Mané said earlier "I have not agreed a 4-year deal with Liverpool nor have I spoken to journalists, I'm on holiday and any quotes you have read were made up by a fake account"

3.) 25 Jun 2016 20:58:03
No he has not!

20 Apr 2016 22:17:13
Is this a clue that we are going to get taken over

Linda Pizzuti Henry ‏@Linda_Pizzuti 15m15 minutes ago
Emphatic derby victory! Clean sheet, 4 goals, dominant. @LFC has been an exciting club.

alan50

1.) 20 Apr 2016 23:45:22
Nah she's already clarified that she just meant we've been exciting recently owing to our run of just 1 loss in 15 games.

2.) 20 Apr 2016 23:46:53
They have been great owners but they only seem to care about finical gain which is a sorry state the sport is in as its no longer about passion but who buys the biggest names.

At least one of the rumoured owners actually cares for the club and hopefully we will be able to shed some debt front the club.

3.) 21 Apr 2016 00:21:15
Adamski they are great owners- they love sport and they want to win, to the extent that they have spent far more than was strictly prudent to try and get that success.
They chose the wrong man in rodgers, and they make naive mistakes like allowing the transfer committee to caŕry on after its awful track record to date.
But they are great owners, and just like the fans, they crave success.
We should not be in such a rush to see the back of these people, nor be so ungracious and ungrateful about their tenure.
There are so many club owners who are so much much worse, and have dragged their clubs down the divisions, as ashley is doing to newcastle, and H+G almost did to lfc- we are lucky.

4.) 21 Apr 2016 03:00:25
Why is thinking about the financial wellbeing of the club a bad thing? The league is a business enterprise that produces a sporting team. The club needs to generate more than 300m a year in revenues to survive. Even Man City is run as a business, but they just have more revenues and larger infrastructure but its still trying to breakeven or make a profit.

In our case I think the debt is from the owners so yes it is debt but we are not going to get in huge trouble over it yet. And by selling the club, the FSG will get that debt back and make some money from the equity of the club probably. Every deal/ agreement is different so unless someone has inside knowledge, we won't know.

5.) 21 Apr 2016 03:37:26
Agree 100% anonymush, any club that has engaged, professional and financially supportive owners with ambition to win the league should consider themselves lucky. We may not have the moneybags of a Middle East owner or an Abramovich but I'd take FSG any day.

Look at some of the other owners in this league and what they've done to clubs like Aston Villa for example (not to mention our own G&H) .

6.) 21 Apr 2016 07:25:02
Adamski, you clearly don't know a lot about the club and it's owners. Can't stand when people talk like this. Direspectful and factually incorrect. YNWA.

7.) 21 Apr 2016 08:28:34
Zimbo, for sake of LFC i will take moneybag anyday. Y? Bcos i want to see LFC able to afford great players and retain them. Having a $ bag or sugar daddy merely allow Liverpool to compete in top 6 only, other objectives like winning league or cup will depend on squad and manager. Or do u really think players join us bcoa they love Liverpool and is a childhood fan?

8.) 21 Apr 2016 09:50:47
FSG has spent more than enough to compete.

9.) 21 Apr 2016 10:37:56
I hope you are pleased at this ed002, there are some nice fans left :D.

10.) 21 Apr 2016 23:29:33
Showing the ambition and decisiveness to snag Klopp and bring him to Anfield should have ended any question or debate as to whether FSG want success here. This act, all by itself, is a resounding YES.

Well done to Simon Mignolet today, he had a great game

alan50

1.) 15 Jan 2017 18:42:43
Completely agree. I've been one of his biggest detractors, but credit where it's due. He had a very good game today

2.) 15 Jan 2017 19:02:15
First MoM performance from him.

3.) 15 Jan 2017 19:06:15
The save of Ibr's free kick should be easily inside top 5 in the league.

4.) 15 Jan 2017 19:44:44
Not like you to exaggerate harry.

5.) 15 Jan 2017 20:15:27
Looking like we've got two good goalies now. Maybe we should give credit to achterberg 😄

6.) 15 Jan 2017 20:24:56
Don`t know about that, Harry cos the shot was right at him along with the one against Mikhytarian. Either way, he was very good today. Solid team performance as well.

7.) 15 Jan 2017 20:40:28
He did great right up to the 90th minute when we were under the cosh, and defending a corner/ free kick and while the whole MU team were in our half he rushed a roll out to one of our players already under presure, who got the ball taken off him and they nearly scored.
Brain dead decision, how can a pro of his age, experience make mistakes so fundamental that even I can see it.

8.) 15 Jan 2017 22:31:09
Henderson is our engine.
The midfield battle was tough but we edged it. Shame about their long ball tactics which lead to their goal.
Filaini suits Mourinio down to the ground but the Utd fans wouldn't put up with it full time.

12 Jan 2017 09:17:42
Well done to Karius last night, thought he had a good game

alan50

1.) 12 Jan 2017 09:46:37
He had a splendid game.

2.) 12 Jan 2017 14:09:50
He was brilliant in all facets. My MOTM. W/ O him, the tie would have been over with a Redmond hatrick. This will do wonders for his confidence.

3.) 12 Jan 2017 15:02:18
Will he be in goal v Utd?

4.) 12 Jan 2017 15:47:23
Doubt it, take him out on a high and bring him back in for a less important game

03 Nov 2016 17:34:10
So LFC have reportedly slapped a £68 mill price tag on Courts, does make me laugh when you consider what's been bought for £89.3 mill and hidden away in Utd's midfield.

alan50

1.) 03 Nov 2016 17:59:58
Agreed, coutinho is much better than pogba all through the season so anything less is be disappointed. Tbh I don't think Barcelona can afford coutinho.

2.) 03 Nov 2016 18:17:17
Looking like these stories have some substance, which is a disgrace if true, PSG look to be interested but I cannot see him going to France, Barca or Real for me if he decides to leave, but certainly not for £68 mill, the club needs to rethink this price tag without a shadow of doubt.

3.) 03 Nov 2016 19:46:04
According to what source? The Metro? Get real lads.

4.) 03 Nov 2016 21:43:03
Don't believe it, but when we had Suarez he had a price tag of £40 mil but we didn't sell him for that. It was LFC's opinion that the "buy out clause" was a minimum we would accept not that we HAD to accept it.

10 Oct 2016 20:18:48
So the FA have appointed our referee for next weeks game, from Greater Manchester, interesting.

alan50

{Ed002's Note - Given that Liverpool is effectively a suburb of Manchester it will make no difference.}

1.) 10 Oct 2016 20:38:39
Most likely a City fan then.

2.) 10 Oct 2016 20:32:01
Suburb?

In what way?

{Ed002's Note - In the same way as all of the small outlying towns like Wythenshaw, Oldham, Altringham and Bootle are suburbs of Manchester Davey.

3.) 10 Oct 2016 20:39:49
Ed002's If it makes no difference then why not give the job to Chris Foy from Merseyside then.

{Ed002's Note - They don't give it to retired people.}

4.) 10 Oct 2016 21:02:14
ok what about Mike Dean.

{Ed002's Note - It has been allocated to someone else - try and get over the paranoia.}

5.) 10 Oct 2016 21:02:17
Altringham fan apparently.
To close to Old Trafford for my liking.

6.) 10 Oct 2016 21:04:56
Top form today ed002, you've got that twinkle in your eye again 😉.

7.) 10 Oct 2016 21:13:01
Davey Davey Davey, how long you been on this site? Wouldn't have thought you would have bite at that!
Ed, well done, another knotch on your bedpost so to speak, you'll have to replace your bed very soon as I'm sure all you have left is a pile of wood chippings.

8.) 10 Oct 2016 21:17:51
Spot on ed2, paranonia is what it is. I couldn't care less who is going to ref the game.

9.) 10 Oct 2016 21:32:46
LFC16, is paranonia a suburb of Manchester too?

10.) 10 Oct 2016 21:52:55
Liverpool is the uk's 7th biggest city, Manchester is the 9th biggest. Surely Manchester is more likely to be a suburb of Liverpool?

11.) 10 Oct 2016 22:18:37
It is indeed 18and5 lol.

12.) 10 Oct 2016 22:37:56
Although I have enough respect for the integrity of refs not to worry about the appointment of one who grew up in any area at all (after all, even if there was some bias in him because of where he grew up it could just as easily be anti united as pro), not sure I agree with a city of 500k people being a suburb of Manchester any more than Brighton is a suburb of London!

13.) 10 Oct 2016 23:06:44
Is right LFC16, glad you took my post in the manner it was intended.

14.) 10 Oct 2016 23:12:23
I don't see the problem. United fans generally reside in London, Thailand and Burkino Faso not Manchester.

{Ed041's Note - bit rich lol.

15.) 11 Oct 2016 12:23:26
Liverpool and Manchester are separate Urban areas, in separate counties of the country, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.

Bootle, historically was part of Lancashire, not Greater Manchester.

16.) 11 Oct 2016 14:21:05
In fact if anything, the ref may be slightly more biased towards us as he may not want to be seen as favoring Utd as he`s from the Greater Manchester area, which doesn`t mean he`s a Utd fan, of course. Anyhow, what`s done is done. We move on.

17.) 11 Oct 2016 18:59:01
Former referees' chief Keith Hackett says it's 'grossly unfair' to put Anthony Taylor in charge of #LFC vs #MUFC

What's your reply to this then Ed002's.

{Ed041's Note - whinging.

24 Sep 2016 14:02:07
No Lovren, has not even made the bench.

alan50

1.) 24 Sep 2016 14:42:40
That's because his ill and can't play, nothing more so don't jump the gun.

2.) 24 Sep 2016 14:43:27
He has a virus.

Ed025's 50 mill for Coutinho has put a smile on my face in a week were I have just lost my Dad.

Pogba £89 Mill has set a benchmark for that calibre of player, and Coutinho is in that calibre of player if not better, in fact much better

alan50

{Ed025's Note - it could just be that i dont think anyone should cost over £50m alan. ......sorry to hear about your dad mate, best wishes to you and all your family my friend..

No money to sign Hart, how is that when we have actually spent nothing in the last transfer window.

alan50

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool spent a lot of money in the last transfer window but had already spent way over the FFP allocation and have significant debts - as such they needed to constrain their spending. They will have further income now that the owners may decide to make available - I am sure that they will.}

That's why Utd players who are expecting to start against us are not playing, like Smalling, Rashford getting very little game time when our boys are playing the full 90.
