Eds could a way to negate agents be that the fa - I'm asking rather than assuming they can do anything like this - could put in a contract type that all clubs have to a dear to with the removal of incentives, buy outs, etc just a sheer money per week one, with the obvious rules and regs of being a professional football player outling media duties, fines etc!

Would that in anyway make dealings easier and therefore reduce the need for an agent to demand things put in contracts etc

And is there anyway the fa could adopt an nfl style system for pay ie "16-18 max pay 2.4mil (50k p/w) a year, 18-24 max pay (100k p/w) 4.8 per year, 24-retirement max pay 12 mil (250k p/w) per year" and obviously change it according to increases in revenue for clubs and keep in line with Europe, unlike the rugby were we have a salary cap and France don't so all the players go over there to get paid!

Cheers eds

{Ed002's Note - No, none of that is going to happen.}

As much as we all say football is a business, and the players will treat it as a job. Meaning they have the right to chase the highest salary, like most of us will do. But in reality, I doubt many of our bosses have to deal with fifa fair play. And the threat of getting a fine for over spending. Yes, they can only spend what they have. But they are allowed to get loans and put in money of their own. Football clubs can't! So, for fifa fair play to work, shouldn't they start with trying some means of capping salaries to players? Then find a way to prevent the super rich clubs from buying players just to keep them on the bench. At the end of the day, its still more a sport than a business! Domination from a few sides will eventually ruin the excitement, which will eventually ruin the "business".

Hi ed good evening from.england 😊

Just a quick question I would like your view on the thought behind it and also the player in question, wether its negative or not!

But how would Nathan dyer stand as a short term replacemen if Raheem sterling where to leave, I believe this would enable the club to maintain annwing threat with pace, he's someone who know the prem&manager, he is also in comparison (not potetial fellow reds) with Raheem and for style or system of player he wouldn't require much jigging around (ie ballotello for Suarez - I lf sturrixge is injured required a change in system) and most importantly as an older player he wouldn't stop the line for the likes of ibe, Marko, Kent, ojo, Wilson to hopefully come through!

I was just curious as to how you would think that would work as a plan and also what are the views on Nathan dyer as a player? How come he has never really interested teams, he's not a worldy I know that but he seems a good weapon and in.a better team he could do a job!

austin

{Ed001's Note - Dyer is so average it would be a huge mistake. He has pace and decent technical ability, but no intelligence at all. He can't cross, pass or shoot, he is not good at tracking back either to make up for it. He offers so little it is hard to see why you have even mentioned him.}

1.) 16 May 2015 08:13:05
I went to a Swansea game a few weeks ago and he was awful. As ed says all he has is pace and the rest of his game is very poor!

2.) 16 May 2015 08:31:39
Or we could just play Ibe there and save ourselves cash and a place on the bench.

3.) 16 May 2015 09:02:18
I swear some people see a player with pace and think he must be good

4.) 16 May 2015 09:46:21
thought Ed001 was describing Sterling himself

5.) 16 May 2015 10:53:10
Why not just try ojo!!

Getting players just to make do is why we are in this mess.

6.) 16 May 2015 16:00:53
Sterling can't shoot, cross or pass eds! He is all about pace, he kicks the ball like a 5 year old!

If people stopped trolling for a second and gave a thought for whoever gets promoted in place of sterling, the pressure on him.will be huge from the fans but dyer could come in as a short term.replacement! Not a world class not even close to being a game changer but would give a yound player time to grow, wouldn't cost a fortune, and would help us in the many tournaments we will be in next year, and leave the majority of funds for our critical much needed striker! Rather than spend 16mil on cheryshev and block the path of the youth and not have as much money for s striker!

End of the day the club are going to replace sterling from.outside the club anyway so why not someone who wouldn't cost a lot and would still.leave an.opportunity for the.many young players.(who still all have sp much.development needed) you have yo protect young players, you can't just throw en.in.front of the kop and say perform!

But.trolled as usual because no one has a minute to think about things they just.go dyer no I want pedro!

{Ed001's Note - sorry but you are talking crap, utter crap, about Sterling. There is far more to his game than pace. If people would stop trolling about him and try actually watching him play they might know that. It is embarrassing to read this kind of nonsense! You live in fantasy worlds of FIFA buying and selling with no idea about reality. Get your head out of the clouds, we will not attract a better replacement and Sterling is far better than your clueless sour grapes rant. Oh and no one wants Dyer because he is not good enough, nothing to do with being a troll, just being able to judge a player, unlike you.}

7.) 16 May 2015 20:52:43
No one is trolling you cause we all want a player like pedro not dyer. It the fact dyer is shocking hint why he don't start every game for Swansea so your comment is completely invalid.

His move it already lined up, the agent will know who he's going to was will sterling. You don't come out with any of this crap, if toy don't have another option lined up! It actually seems to me so bad that it looks arranged! (I know eds if that was the case then etc) but wr will never find out! Bur to do all.this and potentially scare other teams off with you lr behavior would be stupid if toy were trying to get them interested!

The problem we have as I think the eds will agree is we have some great individuals (and o don't mean 40mil individuals) but a lot of players who will all do fansttic os certain systems, but unfortunately we don't have a solid system to fill them in! Like coates has played well in a low block defensive unit, I don't imagine he would thrive in a high press/high defensive line! Same as we have 3 number 10'z in sterling, lallana, coutinho and we don't even play 4231 were on could do well in the hole! We have marko/ibe who are right footed right wingers and wd have noone in the box for them! It goes on and on! The recruitment our targeting good young players but don't seem to be bringing them in to fit a system! Like for example say drogha 20 and Torres 20 were both interested in is bit we could only choose one, they would go with the frog. Even though we have a manager who doesn't like playing with that type of striker! Its not about quality but more about who there selecting!

Nooo, absolutely nothing against benteke at all bur haven't we just had the different type of striker exercise with ballotello and lambert? He's not different, you can't press with him, you have to knock the ball up to him to get the best out of him. Lambert even tried it with playing possession football and he just didn't work inside that system, as soon as Sherwood got in he just went direct to benteke and he has done well.

To get benteke you have to let Rodgers go and the club has to get someone who can use benteke if your looking to invest 30 odd million on him!

Bur eds my question is back to the money side of things which you hate and I have my own issues with not getting costa but going and getting sakho.

For all of us fans we only know what we are told so please take it easy with me but of we are prepared to pay 30/35 million for benteke why can't we go for someone like vietto (who for us fans is valued between 25-30 million?) is it purely bentele would come without champions league but vietto wouldn't or do the club have there own agendas?

austin

{Ed001's Note - Vietto is off elsewhere.}

Would sat years redihio as the sales of navas, negredo, medel, alverto was because they had crippling debts so well run for years wouldn't be accurate and Dorset red I didn't say second rate players what I did say was the players he signed for good fees would of been a lot more expensive had they gone to the prem and there for I said would you still think his buys were good if you say doubled there price tag.

Like example of prem charges, we wanted that Greek ad from.schalke and there was talk of a big transfer fee like 20/25 mil bit the year after or same year he went on loan to Leverkusen.

Gamero cost Sevilla 8/12 mil I think but would lf code a prem team about 18/20 mil. So therefore would you still count him as a good buy. That's all I meant.

And a lot of sevillas buys are failed prem players, so does he have an eye for talent over in our league?

Or would he still sign players like mbia for us?

Off and pessimistic!

Few things

1/ were not' not getting "top players" because br can't attract them it's;

Not our remit for transfers & we cannot afford them

2/ they didn't sack Kk because of his failings in the league, they sacked him because they wanted to get a young manager to build for the future and selected a young manager to primarily work with young players

3/ we are already a top 6 side and out of all the others have the least adjustments to make ie transfers and have the most growth with regards to our already good young players (ibe, can, moreno, marko, COUTINHO, Hendo, sturridge in 2/3 yearss wow.) and lallana & lovren who will have much better campaigns next season.

We will be just fine fellow red.

Its frustrating but we will get there, it's all part of the plan :)

A new manager in by the way will be under the same remit as Brendan. It would be someone like Eddie howe. Attacking football, young players eto but tbe next one in would be a head coach, rather tHan a manager! It's never going to be the man u approach with LVG buy your way back in to tbe top 4 with all you have in tbe bank, it's a slower hopefully more sustainable process that will either fail or succeed - bet you can.guess which one I'm hoping for

Every year we hype players up and become separated from reality!

My personal expectancy is with

Brannigan, o'hanlon, Phillips, dhanda, chirivella, Williams (but even there maybe one will make it as a prem player)

Plenty of others but the wide players have a tough path with the age of the first team and none are really standInG out as exceptional.

I don't hold much hope for rossiter although will love it as he is a scouser, but for his frame he doesn't possess anything that is going to help him avoid that being a probleM With him being a cm. Spearing 2.0. Just not got it all, will be a good mid prem player though :) same feelings with Sinclair, fast but not fast enough to play on the shoulder and strong but not.strong enough to act as a giroud/Drogba. Again got it all but not enough! These two have a lot of developing to do but fingers crossed for them and us!

The scout who brought madger, chirivella & canos to the club, holds very high hopes for the 3 of them. Especially chirivella who he says English football would need a 100 of him to change our culture as he possesses everything a cm needs! Valencia were also very upset to lose him as they believed he was there best talent from the.academy in ten years!

Any interest from barce in sterling?

Be great if we could throw him over there and get pedro our end! No worries about him going to one of our rivals then 😊
