Eds, are the relations with United so strained that buying one of their players is not an option? I am speaking about Depay (and I would also like Schneiderlin to be honest) . We had prior interest in Depay (atleast was reported he chose United over us, and the accuracy of that I do not know) . I think Depay could do well for the right coach, maybe charming, player hugging German.

coop

{Ed002's Note - It is unusual for the clubs to do business and the reasons are all very petty. The relationship seems somewhat strained still and Liverpool were reluctant over making a payment to MU that they had to do last season. Add to that there is no interest in either player from Liverpool and I think it is safe to say that neither will be joining in January.}

1.) 17 Dec 2016 12:33:48
Their players are not good enough for LFC 😛.

2.) 17 Dec 2016 19:33:37
Why on earth would we want repay when we have ojo and woodburn coming through, get a grip.

3.) 17 Dec 2016 18:20:34
What was the payment we had to pay them last year Ed?

{Ed002's Note - I dealt with it at the time it is not worth opening up again.}

4.) 17 Dec 2016 20:14:38
No worries Ed.

5.) 17 Dec 2016 22:42:04
Depay and Schneiderlin are nowhere near the quality we need. We have much better players as 3rd and 4th choice squad players. From them I'd take Shaw or De Gea and that's it.

6.) 18 Dec 2016 11:15:32
Possibly not for us but I do think schneiderlin will be a great buy for possibly everyone, either way good player for me.

7.) 18 Dec 2016 15:45:25
Scherderlin is great mobile DM. Definitely good value under Klopp.

I am sure there are plenty of suitors, but is Julian Draxler even considered by LFC? An immense talent.

Eds, now that Willian deal looks unlikely (and I mean due to Macca's and Rodgers statements, not the ridiculous media circus), there is talk of Damaio. Seems like a new name pops up every week as a new 'target'. I recall Tottenham having interest in Damaio previously. Is it possible he would be a target for them after Bale leaves (or do you think the summer signings were in anticipation of his departure?) {Ed002's Note - He is another long-term target of Spurs and there has been interest from a couple of other clubs as well. There are a number of complexities associated with any potential deal. So far Liverpool has not made any approach for the player.}

Wow. You look at the scoreline and think this was pure domination. Watching the game it didn't quite feel that way. Migs did his utmost to blow it (including trying for a red that was magically downplayed to a yellow) . Final score probably could have been Stoke 6 Liverpool 5. That said, I will take 3 - 0.

coop

1.) 29 Nov 2017 23:04:36
I agree totally, Coop. That was definitely not a 3-0 game. Migs was agin, awful today. I mean, what GK comes out that far and that late, makes a tackle outside his box and completely misses the ball and strikes the man. I think what helped him was that the ref may have thought that there were enough defenders there to cover for the goalscoring oppo. that was there. Go figure. Either way bar some VERY hairy moments, we got the job done and on we go to Brighton. I must say that the whole back line were awesome today esp. with Can offering no cover nor help to Wiji to sheild them.

2.) 29 Nov 2017 23:08:39
How do you think Stoke should have scored 6 when they only had 1 shot on target the whole game?

3.) 29 Nov 2017 23:10:13
Stoke City had only one shot on target. Fair enough we rode our luck but Stoke were never going to score three.

4.) 29 Nov 2017 23:38:18
Yeh we was lucky about the sending off.
But we wasn't lucky last weekend when Chelsea scored from a terrible misplaced Cross that landed in top corner.

5.) 29 Nov 2017 23:46:29
Stoke had 3 good chances and couldn't score. We had 6 great chances and took 3 of them.

It's getting very boring listening to the babies lately. Even when we win they moan we were lucky.

Almost as if they want Klopp and co to fail.

6.) 30 Nov 2017 01:30:14
I also don't get how anyone could have thought they should have one. Yes they had a few chances but we also could have score more considering manes shot hitting the bar and Solanke open shot to the keeper.

But migs. dear lord he is Mr. Mistake week in and out. Please Klopp. drop him.

7.) 30 Nov 2017 05:28:39
Why would stoke needed to score 3. One goal could have changed the whole complexion of the match. Our front 3 could be the best in the league while our back 5 and midfiled are worst in the league!

8.) 30 Nov 2017 06:27:27
It’s quite impressive that we can win games with only 3 players Harry. If our defence was the worst in the league wouldn’t we have conceded the most goals in the league?

9.) 30 Nov 2017 08:00:28
Tbh if Stoke had taken one of their chances, the floodgates would have opened at the back. None of our defenders can cope with pressure and an uninterested Can was not doing his part in helping them out.

{Ed001's Note - oh don't talk crap. You can't say that, it is a guess from a whiner wanting us to fail! This is embarrassing the whole thread. I sometimes wonder if you want the team to lose so you can say you were right. I think you lot need to get your eyes tested, Liverpool had the best chances in the game, the ones they didn't take I mean, not the ones they did take. No idea what kind of blinkers you have to wear to think it should have been 6-5 to Stoke, but they must be bloody thick.}

10.) 30 Nov 2017 08:34:18
We have conceded 2 goals in the last 5 EPL games (3 clean sheets) . If that was another team, we would be hailing them. But it's LFC so of course, the moaners brigade (who seem to only thrive regardless of the result) will still have something to whine about on here.

11.) 30 Nov 2017 08:57:06
Who said I want us to lose? But did u see how easily Allen found his way into the box unmarked to take open shots at the goal? Why was no midfielder tracking his runs? We have seen our team fall apart a bit too often in the last few seasons and I want personnel who deal with such situations better such as better leaders and more defensive minded players.
And by flood gates, I meant maybe giving us a run for the money, not scoring 6 goals against us. Must have been someone else who said that.

{Ed001's Note - seriously, you are just backtracking now. I give up. You said floodgates but that only means giving us a run for our money? Come on, that is not even remotely what it means. At least have the balls to stand by what you said or admit you got it wrong rather than try and claim you meant something completely different from what you said.}

12.) 30 Nov 2017 09:03:51
Ed001 - yes, of course they do. Hence their disappearing act when we win convincingly. They also love to talk about how awful people are compared to other teams whilst seemingly having the vaguest clue about what other teams are doing and how their players are performing. A lot of people are just happier being miserable.

{Ed001's Note - it is bizarre mate. It is understandable when the team loses, even if over the top, but when we won I just do not get it.}

Early doors, but based on our form, I think we can pip Burnley for the 7th spot in the table. Fingers crossed everyone stays healthy.

coop

1.) 15 Oct 2017 02:40:42
Behave coop, we played the team who were top of the league and we were the better team. It will only take two wins in a row and I think the confidence will come flooding back. No offence dude but today's result wasn't that bad, hardly deserved of mocking satire.

2.) 15 Oct 2017 06:39:49
Unfortunately Coop, We have no divine right to Pip any team lol 😆😆😆.

3.) 15 Oct 2017 07:49:49
That's right, Harry. Just ask Chelsea who got "pipped" by Palace or Arsenal who got "pipped" by Watford. Now, that is what is funny.

4.) 15 Oct 2017 07:57:54
I'm going out on a limb here but I'm going to guess that coop is using sarcasm here and is fishing for some bites.

5.) 15 Oct 2017 08:29:01
I think so too, Jayden which is why I did not respond to his comment.

14 Sep 2017 02:02:22
Defence let us down again, but if we can keep the attacking force and add to defence then decent chance at a title run next year or the one after. For now we have to work with what we have, and I think we should either use Robertson at LB every game, or put Milner back in there. I don't see a solution in our roster for Lovren. Maybe Gomez? Maybe Steve G could sub in? Ask Carra to come back? As it stands, we have a left sided defensive duo that are simply incapable of the task asked.

coop

1.) 14 Sep 2017 06:01:21
I am surprised to see you having full confidence on Matip. He is as poor as the other two! Matip is a 3rd choice CB for any team that wants to challenge for the titles.

2.) 14 Sep 2017 06:24:32
Moreno has been our best defender so far this season by a mile. Why would you take him out?

3.) 14 Sep 2017 07:08:19
Moreno is better than last season, but that's not saying much. His crossing and passing is much better but that rashness and tendency to be caught high up the pitch still makes him a liability at times. Robertson needs to be tested now.
But the bigger problem is the CDM and CB issues right now. Unfortunately we are stick with the Chuckle Brothers and Matip for now.

4.) 14 Sep 2017 08:07:21
Moreno is NOT our best defender and never has been. Another ref would have sent him off last night with his brainless lunges. As for last night's perf, if our strikers had finished the job, we would not be here cos globally, we kept a very good Sevilla team to 4 shots the whole game and had Lovren not crapped himself, we win comfortably. You have to look at the game overall and not just the defence.

5.) 14 Sep 2017 07:56:54
We can't muster one good partnership out of any of our centre backs. That is a poor show.

6.) 14 Sep 2017 08:38:25
Moreno had a wonderfull assist on Bobbys goal, he won the header in front of Manes penalty, and was not directly involved in any of the 2 goals we let in, why do you need to test Robertson when he is one of our players that has looked good so far this season? Exept for our top trio, i would say he has been our best player so far, has been playing good since the beginning of preseason, and it clearly means a lot for him to play in the beatifull red jersey. Judge him on his current form, not he's mistakes from previous seasons, the Moreno hate seriously is starting to piss me off.

7.) 14 Sep 2017 09:18:08
@stoupid Watch the 1st goal watch Moreno as the ball goes past lovern! He's the wrong side of his player and on his toes ready to run from our box! Moreno can't defend for toffee! So to me your wrong!

8.) 14 Sep 2017 09:40:42
Wtf jay, Lovren misses a ball rolling straight at him. You are looking for things to blame Moreno for. Deluded.

9.) 14 Sep 2017 12:31:45
Jay, On that, Stoupid is correct. The goal is Lovren's fault and even he will tell you that, Jay. Stop trying to find the non existent in the existent as it makes you look bitter and look like you have an agenda against Moreno.

09 Sep 2017 21:45:56
I think we have to accept the game for what it was, a complete drumming. Yes, Mane going off made it inevitable loss, but the reality is our defence had already been split and City on the front foot. might have changed in Mane chipped a goal instead of Ederson's face, but we will never know. What we do know is that a weak defence can be utterly destroyed by a talented squad when a man down. Most teams have the ability to form a defensive wall when down to 10 men and frustrate the other team. We showed we have no such ability and is probably not something we practice for. That said, Klavan in central defence against Ageuro and Gabriel? Surprised it wasn't 10 - 0.

I wonder what Klopp is thinking for CB. Perhaps use Can again? Gomez almost certainly has to play CB. Imagine one of Lovren or Matip get injured. Would be crisis. Was really hoping VVD was still coming.

coop

1.) 01 Sep 2017 00:39:32
Long time reader, first time poster.

I've been wondering if Klopp is getting Gomez more integrated into the team and match fit by rotating him in the RB while Clyne is still injured. Once Clyne is back he and TAA can rotate at RB and Gomez will slot into CB to rotate there. Easing him into it as such.

2.) 01 Sep 2017 00:47:21
Think he thinks apart from vvd nobody else was that much better than what we have.

I also think the way we play leaves the back four exposed, vvd would have helped but don't think he would have solved the issue.

Drills drills and more drills. Never know he may go to 3 at the back with emre.

3.) 01 Sep 2017 08:31:58
It was VVD or nothing for Klopp at CB and that is the way to go. No more panic buys as I'm sick of them. Give Gomez a go and keep working on defending set pieces and better communication as that is our issue. No CB would fix all our issues as it is more complicated than that.

Someone mentioned earlier how Atkinson always seems to be a problem for Liverpool. Ivanovich stepped in Lallana's foot three times in 10 seconds, one of which was clearly intentionally. No card. Then he slams Winaldjum over, and yet Atkinson still holds back the card.

Not conspiracy, just observation.

probably 3 goals on 30 shots, 8 of which will be on goal. Leicester will score 3 from 3.

C'mon ed002, perhaps this is taking place in an emergency room in Paris. They are open 24 hours per day. They can atleast rule out a knife wound in the back.

The France national coach arranged a medical for a squad player to facilitate a sale? That makes zero sense.

Well, there is more money for club if we go through, and more games for the fans. That's two great reasons for me.
