Good to see allan called up to the u20 side. It should help him with a work permit. Hopefully we will be able to get that over the line before pre-season. Happy for him.

With sturridge and coutinho returning i think the performance and work of firmino will be overlooked and i just thought i would mention him.
The thing i love about firmino is his movement, he really stetches play, he creates space for the likes of coutinho and sturridge, his work rate is excellent and he often creates chances from closing down the opposition. His final ball is improving and i am really excited about seeing him next season. Its a testament to him that he has been involved in more goals than any other player in the league in 2016. A really unselfish player. Hope everyone stays fit and we see more performances like this one.

Firmino will be even better next season. Sturridge up top, Coutinho on the left, Firmino behind Sturridge and a pacy winger should be our attacking line up next season. All 3 players behind Sturridge should be capable of scoring goals and creating chances, and we are good to go.

And to think the vocal minority (I hope not majority) spent the first half of the season calling him out. Stating constantly that he simply wasn't good enough.
I think he'll be a great player for us. His immense work rate will suit Klopps preferred style, he's technically great and has a magic spark.

Agree with you both, the amount of players that have taken time to settle, ozil, mahrez even suarez. You have to be patient with new signings.

I think the current city Leicester score (2-0) shows that a few people over reacted to the game on tuesday, schmeichel has only made 2 saves.

you could say we played better than leicester. we were just never ever going to score, but maybe the reason we looked better was because we play 6cm's while leicester set up properly with a bit of quality and won the game.

Question for ed001 if he is about, you mention that subotic is not a klopp like signing? Just curioua what you mean by that. I ask because all the rags are now claiming "liverpool in talks over subotic" cheers for the reply i advance mate, know you must get busy this time of year!
{Ed001's Note - the talks are over a loan move. I mean he is not a Klopp type of permanent deal. He prefers younger players that can be bought for a reasonable price and then improved. Then you can sell them on and improve the squad with the proceeds. A player like Subotic will decline in value and so you are solely relying on him having enough of an impact to make his value up that way. So it affects the ability of the club to spend in the future.}

For me the problem with subotic is, klopp has already got the best out of him. If he brings a different player in, he may improve them, whereas subotic, he's probably done all he can.

Cheers ed, if it is a loan move it makes more sense then i suppose, with the other centre halves we have been linked with a loan move for subotic would be the better option that way we can do our proper business in the summer.

And if Subotic is a success then we may be able to acquire him permanently for a reasonable fee as it seems that Dortmund would be happy to move him on.

When I've watched Newcastle (Only 3 times this season) I;ve liked that Mbemba each time, he covers so well for Collocini, is aggressive in the air and in the tackle, likes to run out with the ball and clearly wants to play a higher line than colocini will allow.

For me klopp has years hopefully to get these gems to develop. For now he needs few ready to go players. Subotic is atleast use to his traing regime and has proven quality. Skyrtyl best days are beyond yet we keep playing him and subotic is a upgrade on him.

Lyon haven't accepted a bid and the eds say he would most likely not be very keen on a move there, newcastle are looking to make a second bid which because lyon are hard to deal with, will most likely be rejected as well. Source ed002 (newcastle page)

I think frimino was around the £30m mark with transfef fee but obviously there are many other costs to with it.

He isn't better than what we have in my opinion, i think that's why he hasn't had a move to a big club. Average, he is at his level.
