Anyone else disappointed about Man Utd signing Stefanovic, purely based on what the Ed’s have said?

decodeko

{Ed002's Note - It is a great signing for them - he really is one to watch - and a player Liverpool have been very keen on for a couple of years.}

1.) 14 Aug 2020 20:51:43
No I am not disappointed because I have never seen him play.

{Ed002's Note - One that you will come to regret that Liverpool did not bite in the end. He will be a very nifty player going forward.}

2.) 14 Aug 2020 22:23:25
Maybe not with OGS managing his development.

3.) 14 Aug 2020 21:56:19
To be fair Ed. We’ve not got £10 to spare, never mind the £10m that United have spent.

4.) 15 Aug 2020 00:04:52
Fella must have a phone.

5.) 15 Aug 2020 02:01:32
Absolute gutted that he’s going to Man Utd. Why on earth didn’t we buy him? I should have done that and beef up our front 3.

6.) 15 Aug 2020 06:25:38
not really. We can't sign everyone.

7.) 15 Aug 2020 08:42:38
Exactly faith. We don’t have the money for our top targets never mind kids who need to be loaned out.

8.) 15 Aug 2020 18:55:37
Stevanovic is a kiddie who has barley played he has a long long way to go and there as so many who have the same weight of expectation put on them. let's not bother ourselves with it. We have a heap of young players ready to make the grade.

{Ed002's Note - You are right - it really does show how little Klopp and the Liverpool scouts know after wasting so much effort looking at the player. The arrogance is astonishing.}

9.) 15 Aug 2020 19:30:22
We scout many players many times all over the world, we won't sign the all. that's football move on.

{Ed002's Note - Nobody is suggesting Liverpool will sign them all, but the arrogance of some supporters (like you) is what makes a lot of the fan base a laughing stock.}

10.) 15 Aug 2020 22:32:36
Strange thing to say arrogance we didn’t signs player. I think we’ll miss out and their gain but that happens unfortunately. Some sections maybe “laughing stock” but can’t blanket us all. In fairness our transfer business has been good past few years and I do dint are if it’s klopp or others as long as it benefits lfc. whatever you think us (very little) We’ve gone from top ten to winning everything. Arrogance is not thinking or needing to buy and / or improve which I’m sure we are finances permitting.

11.) 15 Aug 2020 22:56:21
I’m disappointed that we missed out, but it is what it is. On the bright side, Harvey Elliott looks a really good prospect so glass half full.

12.) 15 Aug 2020 23:47:13
Is it mostly done to united then Ed? I really liked this lad. I'm with you. Think he's a potential future star of the game.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure is everything is finalised.}

13.) 16 Aug 2020 07:05:46
Should have got Klopp in the phone sooner.

14.) 16 Aug 2020 07:20:13
I really hope we can steal this from Man U. This kid is special and if we have spent so much time scouting him, we should drop Thiago and just end our transfer business with him and provide cover for our front 3.

Are the Daniel Agger to Brondby for £3m rumours true?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

We are Liverpool guys let's not worry about whether one player wants to join us or not - we will find a solution.

It's a Fekir, but Simao we've always managed to get through failed transfer attempts before.

decodeko

1.) 12 Aug 2023 10:37:01
Yeah, we thought we were signing a Caulker of a player but it turns out he's a right Ruddy Konoplyanka.
As you say, Weah Liverpool.

2.) 12 Aug 2023 10:51:25
If he’s not Kün on us, I know where he can Aguero!

3.) 12 Aug 2023 12:24:59
I’m not bothered about caciedo choosing Chelsea, it happens to every club at some point. Plus I don’t like his attitude and Chelsea are more used to mercenaries.

What’s annoying is the total lack of a plan to get the two-three players in that we need to compete.

4.) 12 Aug 2023 12:31:26
This os better than him not reportin to training oe getting back pains in a year or two.

5.) 12 Aug 2023 13:02:02
Exactly he has treated Brighton poorly. Will do the same to chelsea.

6.) 12 Aug 2023 13:48:50
He will regret it in May when we lift the prem league trophy.

7.) 12 Aug 2023 14:52:17
Before Liverpool bid for him, everyone knew he wanted Chelsea or even Madrid. If he has signed for Liverpool I guarantee none of this “mercenary” or “attitude” nonsense would be talked about.

What surprised me is was it even asked if the WANTED to play for Liverpool before bidding? You would guess so but maybe he had a change of heart ?‍♂️.

8.) 12 Aug 2023 16:25:49
Spot on @Irish. Caicedo on the pitch is a world beater. Easily the best destroyer / ball winner in the league by a distance. Whoever gets him gets a brilliant player.

9.) 12 Aug 2023 18:06:16
Listen we only want players who want to play for liverpool money shouldn't come into it a mean would you play for Everton for 50 grand winning nothing or kiverpool for 40 grand with a damp good chance of winning things plus who wouldn't want that liver bird on their chests.

10.) 12 Aug 2023 18:17:37
There is no way in heck we would have bid 200m plus for a player and did not have any assurances from his reps and entourage that he wanted to come. Not in a million years. I don’t know near anything about transfers BUT I know that much cos it is just that basic.

IMO, the guy and his agent tried to pull a fast one by accepting to come to us in a bid to get Chelsea step in and act fast cos Chelsea had been lowballing Brighton with inadequate bids all window meaning, they didn’t think he was worth the 100m to begin with. Which tells me, they ain’t got dough like that cos if they did, they would have signed him before the deadline set by Brighton.

We move on but I say we don’t withdraw our offer. If they want Caicedo, they should outbid our offer and we’re good. Till then, no flips given. He’s Chelsea’s and esp Brightons problem now. We did what was required by Brighton thru out the process.

11.) 12 Aug 2023 19:16:24
I haven't read that Caicedo has said that he doesn't want to play for Liverpool, I've only read that he has said that he wants to keep his word with Chelsea, the two are different. However, I 'assume' he was asked, or his agent was asked, if he would like to join us before we made an offer.
Personally, I would put this quickly behind us and move swiftly on an for Luis, Inacio and Gravenberch.

12.) 12 Aug 2023 19:17:35
Habibi, you must be harry. Welcome back mate.

Not one of the Ed’s called the Jay Spearing signing, this site has gone to the dogs ?.

decodeko

1.) 18 Jun 2022 07:53:09
And there we have it
The midfielder we all wanted but don’t deserve.

2.) 18 Jun 2022 07:58:47
It was Spearing's Destiny but is he the box to box midfielder that we crave?

3.) 18 Jun 2022 08:36:46
Lucas - Spearing - Poulsen

The Great Hogdson era.

4.) 18 Jun 2022 09:05:53
British media -> "Jay Spearing the next Steven Gerrard"

5.) 18 Jun 2022 09:27:49
Danny Murphy clone.

6.) 18 Jun 2022 10:19:06
Poulsen still triggers me intona compete rage. Awful, useless bundle of sh*t.

7.) 18 Jun 2022 10:30:27
Get those home grown, club development numbers up ?.

8.) 18 Jun 2022 13:49:03
Danny Murphy is sound.

9.) 18 Jun 2022 18:21:48
Remember when we had Konchesky at LB. Christ we were terrible.

24 Feb 2022 21:09:20
Hello fellow Reds,

For the first time I’m taking my 2 boys to Anfield next week for the West Ham game, my wife and daughter going shopping, spending the weekend in Liverpool.

Normally I’d be hitting the pubs…. but a bit different this time. Can anyone recommend good places to eat with kids in tow? Ideally not chains but somewhere independent or unique.

decodeko

1.) 24 Feb 2022 21:41:28
Depending on the age of the kids and budget etc, Sapporo's is a fab place for the family to eat and is something a bit different! There are quite a few independent places on bold Street that do fab food and are kid friendly too. Hope you have a fab weekend!

2.) 24 Feb 2022 21:49:54
Gino de campos.

{Ed025's Note - dont go anywhere with that scum bags name on it..

3.) 24 Feb 2022 21:54:33
Why Ed025?

{Ed025's Note - bad man barry, years ago he broke into paul youngs flat and robbed his guitar and possessions worth thousands as well as video,s and pictures of his wife who died years later but his memories are lost now mate, he got 4 years for it but im not a forgiving type of guy im afraid..

4.) 24 Feb 2022 21:56:10
What did Gino do Ed025?

{Ed025's Note - see my reply to barry mate

5.) 24 Feb 2022 22:12:30
Gion de Campos as in the chef?

6.) 24 Feb 2022 22:20:23
I just looked it up Ed025 not nice mate.

{Ed025's Note - yeah hes a low life barry mate..

7.) 24 Feb 2022 22:20:39
Good job it wasn’t Duncan Disorderly’s house Ed025. He’d have been beaten like a ginger stepchild.

{Ed025's Note - love it mate..

8.) 24 Feb 2022 22:21:01
Wow I just read an article on this. I never knew about this changed my thoughts on the guy now anyone who burgles someone’s house is a disgusting human being. Thought it was just smack heads who did that type of thing. How is this not common knowledge I suppose he has come a long way but once a thief always a thief! Quite surprised he has managed to get some of the work he gets with this on his record. Guy is world class bell!

{Ed025's Note - absolutely SN..

9.) 25 Feb 2022 00:00:28
So a mistake he made 30 years ago tars him forever. Paul Young got over it and accepted Gino's apology, maybe you should as well.

10.) 25 Feb 2022 00:37:15
Decodeko I was over with my wife and daughter last weekend at the Norwich game. They were out shopping on Sunday and I went to O’Neills to watch the utd game. That evening we went to an Italian restaurant between O’Neills and concert square, villa romana is its name. All I can say is “unreal”. I’ve been over 30/ 40 times before with the lads and the poshest I’ve been to before that was the lobster pot. Maybe it was just me but I’ll definitely be back to it.

11.) 25 Feb 2022 01:22:44
Chamber 36 nice for Chinese on Berry street.

12.) 25 Feb 2022 02:14:10
Casa Italia is surely one of the oldest in the city (maybe the country? ), it’s iconic and surely a must visit. Also i think they are a chain but i just love Crust on Bold Street, never let's me down. Seems like every time i eat there is the day of a European home game and the opposition fans are always in there!

13.) 25 Feb 2022 02:53:22
Sorry Ed025, but Paul Young said he got most of the stuff back and has accepted the man's apology.

{Ed025's Note - oh thats ok then john, saying sorry cures everything then, maybe if putin flattens Ukraine but apologises all is forgiven..

14.) 25 Feb 2022 06:55:00
Long time ago eds. horrible thing to do 100 percent but surely people deserve a 2nd chance?

{Ed025's Note - leopards and spots for me marty..

15.) 25 Feb 2022 07:57:18
Don't condone theft but comparing it to war seems a little much.

{Ed025's Note - its about being responsible for your actions for me mic, old fashioned i know..

16.) 25 Feb 2022 09:17:45
Ed I also heard he broke into Goodison and robbed the Everton trophy cabinet. He was caught by the police but they couldn’t charge him due to a lack of evidence as he had no trophies in his possession 🤣.

{Ed025's Note - i like that JK.. :)

17.) 25 Feb 2022 10:02:21
Gino DiCampo also recently said he starves his kids if they won't eat their tea and then serves it to them cold the next morning to teach them a lesson. I'm all for educating kids about food waste, but why not make them something they like Gino, you are a chef after all. He called parents 'morons' and 'idiots' if their kids are fussy eaters. As a chef, he should know about eating disorders.

With regard to the OP request - Bold St for sure - plenty of smaller, non-chain places. Baltic Triangle has several nice places too.

Not sure about Casa Italia anymore - been a while since I've been there, but if you want validation of its authenticity; I once ate in there and on the table next to us, was an Italian priest, eating their minestrone and then some pasta.

18.) 25 Feb 2022 10:55:44
Bakedbeanboy that's that's bit of a stretch there mate, I mean I've always found the guy quite annoying personally but saying he starves his kids is a bit far. I grew up relatively low on the poverty line and so for us it was always you eat what you're given or you don't eat at all and because of that I would eat my food whether I liked it or not, his kids are probably having expensive food made for them by a decent enough chef it's their choice if they choose not to eat it I don't think that counts as being starved.

19.) 25 Feb 2022 12:49:13
Op my kids live the panasian all you can eat buffet style restaurant by St John's. It does pizza and pasta as well if yous don't like the Chinese selection. Also the Chinese buffet by Speke retail Park. The food gets served by a robot which all the young kids find mesmerising.

20.) 25 Feb 2022 13:54:55
Wow I didn’t know that! I do keep thinking he’s going to break into a Manc accent sometimes.

21.) 25 Feb 2022 14:22:34
I think most people believe in taking responsibility Ed. Not old fashioned at all and I believe exactly the same. I just don't think the two situations are comparable in any way.

{Ed025's Note - we all have different thresholds i suppose mic mate..

22.) 25 Feb 2022 15:41:54
If you want Italian try Amalia, family run trattoria, in Campbell Square off Duke street not far from John Lewis.

23.) 25 Feb 2022 16:22:47
Does anywhere actually serve scouse?

Any Japanese restaurants?

24.) 25 Feb 2022 17:26:10
Thank you everyone for your suggestions!

25.) 25 Feb 2022 19:12:44
Sapporo is Japanese I think but I've never been.

26.) 26 Feb 2022 02:03:45
Ah, but then Paul Young broke into Gino's pomme de terre in town because he'd left his trilby there, refused to leave and claimed squatters rights.
It was tit for tat.

27.) 26 Feb 2022 02:06:53
Paul Young got his guitar back as an apology from Gino.
But it was a no strings apology.

07 Jun 2015 20:22:31
Is there any truth in Liverpool being 'favourites' to sign Ibrahimovic? Everything in my head tells me there is no chance of him joining us, but it's a little more exciting than Ings and Bogdan.

decodeko

{Ed002's Note - Sorry, I really don't know anything of it.}

1.) 07 Jun 2015 21:50:56
I do not think he would come to Liverpool and I doubt we would be interseted in a highly paid player of his age.

2.) 07 Jun 2015 22:52:59
The issue is the head coach, not players.

Why cannot people get their head around this ?

3.) 07 Jun 2015 23:00:27
If Zlatan came I'd grow a pony tail and change my name to Ibra

4.) 08 Jun 2015 05:27:23
well DBol ill start wearing a bra myself.
