hey edds first post on here for a while , i have searched for any info on this but can not find it on here .

its the ffp new rules getting relaxed by plattini,does this mean we are going to get the oil tycoons spending big again or is it not as drastic as that?

frankyscouserstalkedbyedd2

{Ed002's Note - Right now UEFA are trying to deflect a legal challenge and are looking to relax the investment that can be made – but are still aware that they need to deal with other issues, most notably the capping of television income and sponsorship. UEFA has spoken to a number of clubs but have generally not found them supportive – all three English sides spoken to are against the plans to relax the investment cap. However, UEFA has now turned to the association of European clubs and they are keen to have some input. They are traditionally ignored but they have been actively discussing this issue with UEFA. However, they are excluded from the discussions that UEFA and specific clubs have with each other – and it is that forum that will eventually settle on the more critical television revenue and commercial sponsorship caps. There will regardless be a relaxation this summer, but it may not be sustained without ratification – and that won’t happen anytime soon. None of this will be good for the English sides. The worry UEFA has is that the two potentially largest beneficiaries both play in the French league and they may be accused of favouritism.}

it sounds very complex ,i did think the ffp rules were a good idea but like most rules it can be manipulated,will this have any impact on fsg ?

they bought the club as a investment and were always going to sell and the ffp rules suited them,could they be looking to sell a lot quicker then intended ?

cheers for reply in advance.

franky

{Ed002's Note - I don't agree with FFP - and certainly not the way it is implemented. Liverpool are one of the clubs that were investigated for their breaches of FFP and they are continuing to be monitored. The clubs who have been banned from UEFA competition have generally been put in that position by being late with payments for players - and these are generally less well off sides who are suffering at the hands of FFP. Two of the clubs with sanctions right now are "new money" clubs but the penalties are extreme. Another club managed to lessen their penalty (I don't want to go in to how they did that) but generally the rules have not been abused. There are plenty of sanctioned clubs - it just doesn't get much of an airing in the UK. As for an impact on Liverpool and FSG, the question needs to be have they got the stomach to keep throwing money at this project?}

hi edd any idea who is in the running to replace Louie Suarez if the Belgium kid we bought goes back on loan?
cheers.

frankyscouserstalkedbyedd2

{Ed002's Note - Huntelaar.}

hi edd this barca embargo on transfers is interesting and I have a few questions if you do not mind?

1 win your opinion will they appeal and get it overturned?

2 is this a wake up call for all clubs let's say bending the rules?

3 will that mean any players barca intended in selling they will keep hold of now?

4 let's say pepe reina buys out of his Liverpool contract could that mean he could hypothetically join barca because there is no transfer fee included?

cheers edd.

frankyscouserstalkedbyedd2

{Ed002's Note - 1. It could go on for a long time via the Court of Arbitration. 2. They are by no means the only club responsible of this infraction. It is simply endemic there. 3 With a couple of exceptions. 4. That won't happen.}

hi Ed02 not a Liverpool question as such but Torres looks like a angry man every time he plays and with you being in the know about Chelsea in particular why did Torres stay with Chelsea this season as he was never going to be a regular with the squad you have and being a world cup year I would have thought he would want reg footy?is it a money thing ie wages and want Chelsea wanted for a transfer or is it more complicated than that?

frankyscouserstalkedbyedd2

{Ed002's Note - It was more than likely the lack of opportunities elsewhere. He will be one of the strikers that moves on in the summer and he is already being courted by the "soon to be" owner of Valencia. He is however working very hard at getting things right at the moment and he is putting the effort in to chase the ball down or whatever the footballing term is. Chelsea will not hold off any move for him.}

hey edds any idea who is being looked at to cover or challenge enrique? the french lad we have now in my opinion does not look like a Liverpool player (not comfortable on the ball) personally I would still preserve with jack robinson in the mean time if enrique is carrying a injury. {Ed002's Note - I don't see that LB is any sort of priority for January.}

Still laughing about the guy getting his manhood out.

2.) 03 Oct 2015 19:26:42
We had to see it. I'm guessing it was Harry.

3.) 03 Oct 2015 19:48:16
Whether or not it was harry or not i think only ed001 can confirm 😂😀

29 Sep 2015 10:59:54
dont usually post on the footy site but i had to when i read about the young goaly who was on loan and payed a fine in pennies .

in my opinion the kids contract should be terminated on the spot ,stuff like this pisses me off ,and yes i would be saying the same if he was a world class player , enough is enough , the petulance of the modern day footballer who takes everything for granted gets on my last nerve and reading people condoning it winds me up .

rant over franky.

frankyscouserstalkedbyedd2

{Ed001's Note - why? The likes of Dalglish and Souness did lots of pranks similar to that, which is all it was. He still paid the fine. As I said on another thread, the issue is what led to the fine, not how he paid it.}

1.) 29 Sep 2015 11:08:38
Why terminate on the spot. educate and show the kid the right way. Spot on Ed001

2.) 29 Sep 2015 11:14:40
Why??? Are you serious ed? Because it's yet another condescending example of how some footballers perceive themselves, that's why. If he did wrong he should take the consequence with humility. And move on.
If you're mate owed you £50 and paid you back in pennies what would you say?
Oh, and by the way, the pranks of Souness etc were in all likelihood; pranks - in the true sense of the word. This wasn't a prank. It stinks of condescension.
I'm with Franky. Sack him. Good post, lad.

{Ed002's Note - Legally there is an issue paying more than a certain amount in pennies. I think anything over 20p or 50p in pennies can be refused. I don't recall the exact amount.}

3.) 29 Sep 2015 11:15:01
Yeah I can't see why there's such an over reaction by media and fans. The importance of turning up to training needs to be emphasised. But I wouldn't overreact to his payment of the fine.

4.) 29 Sep 2015 11:22:06
The issue obviously comes from the relationship he has with the club. The club could have taken his £50 of pennies as a tongue in cheek prank but it looks as if relations were strained and this was the final straw. Just my opinion.

5.) 29 Sep 2015 11:29:13
ed002 it's the royal mints legal tender guidelines maximum 20p in pennies and 2ps. As you say the club can refuse to accept it and ask for it in other denominations.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

6.) 29 Sep 2015 11:29:55
different era's different times were the players mentioned knew it would never make the headlines for one , a snotty nosed kid who should be making more effort to get in on time but can take the time to sit around a few hours to put pennies in a bag ?

7.) 29 Sep 2015 11:33:32
If your boss reads this and then decides to pay you your months wages in pennies Ron, you're happy enough are ye?

8.) 29 Sep 2015 11:41:33
This truly is the greatest football site on planet earth. I think I would die without the knowledge and insightful opinions of ed0. You're a star mate. An absolute giant among men. Go, big lad!

9.) 29 Sep 2015 11:49:18
I'm self employed mate

10.) 29 Sep 2015 12:08:21
lol. come on mate don't be such a conservative! It just sounds like a light hearted gesture, no harm done

11.) 29 Sep 2015 11:42:56
One difference though ed001, Dalglish and Souness had earned the right to take the jazz.
A loanee kid hasn't.
They should have just made him clean the changing rooms for a month or something though, brought him down a peg, instead of terminating his loan imo.

{Ed001's Note - I am talking about as kids, you think they were good kids who never broke the rules? They are human beings, not robots, kids break rules to learn how far to push the boundaries, it is part of growing up. They need to have personalities and make mistakes, that is part of life.}

12.) 29 Sep 2015 12:14:40
I thought it was funny myself. attitude problems aside, this made me giggle simple as that. It has noting to do with footballers its about bein uptight and jumping on the moral high ground bandwagon, i gets seriously boring sometimes! . (my opinion)

13.) 29 Sep 2015 12:44:54
Yes I know what you mean ed.
In one respect, being on loan is more than just about getting playing time though isn't it ?
I suppose it depends on the manager / regime at Swindon, and acting accordingly.
I read about Harry Catterick at Everton, who was an absolute stickler for rules, very strict.
Time and place and all that.

14.) 29 Sep 2015 13:22:12
One thing that really, really irks me is Nile Ranger. I know not related to LFC, but that kid is a joke. How many kids would give their right arm to play professional football, yet he takes the piss and gets chance after chance. Like Ed said, the kid paid his fine in the end, it's players like Ranger that should be thrown in the rubbish

15.) 29 Sep 2015 13:52:11
Much ado about nothing if you ask me, but this will remain a black mark on Vigouroux's career surely?

16.) 29 Sep 2015 16:57:30
Haha i can't believe you people, sack him for what, having a mind of his own and expressing his view whilst may i add still adhering to the rules and paying the fine.

I don't know what went on but i have been to work late plenty of times for genuine reasons and i would be pretty peeved if my boss said i need to give him 50 quid especially as i make that time back up.

There are two sides to this story i'm sure and no doubt he will take a slap on the wrist and learn from it but nothing more i'm afraid. Complete overreaction from some.

17.) 29 Sep 2015 16:59:04
I'm more interested in how did he get £50 in pennies, if he was just making a point it sort of says something that he managed to get it.

18.) 29 Sep 2015 17:36:00
Stuie-boy, you mention Nile Ranger. If this kid is allowed to get away with stunts like this he could well end up like him

19.) 29 Sep 2015 18:31:35
Storm in a tea-cup, really.

20.) 29 Sep 2015 18:47:43
Well I don't always agree with the Eds, but Ed001 is spot on here. The young man is pushing the boundaries and needs to see he has pushed them too far, which a more imagninative and creative punishment would have done. Not a sacking offense.
Honestly, fans complain about a lack of passion and creativity. Passion comes from character, character is developed through overcoming adversity, creativity from independent thought and comes with a willingness to bend the rules.
I wonder how the posters calling for the lad to be sacked go about raising their kids?

21.) 29 Sep 2015 19:34:51
andy are u taking the piss ?
what has passion got to do with not getting to work on time ?
what has creativity got to do with sticking a load of pennies in a money bag?
hes there to do a job and learn his trade .
by the way all three of my daughters are raised well thanks

22.) 29 Sep 2015 22:19:11
Really do hate it when these stupid issues come up.

Like Ed001 said, they are humans, not robots. You all talk as if you have never done anything like that in your life.

Reality is, we're all a bunch of people who
watch these men kick a ball around on tv and think we have the right to judge them on every single aspect of their lives.

The funny thing is is that he actually paid the fine as well. And even then people take issue with it.

Get a grip people, you're all far from perfect yourselves.

06 Jun 2015 11:41:13
i read posts from this site but never comment or rarely comment, my take on the rodgers fiasco is he has to go , even last season when we were going for the title i found his interviews cringey , he loved to tell the media how he switched from 1 formation to another , he was on talksport nearly once a week and for a manager to be so high profile with the media was and is doing my head in , i am not getting involved in players he's fell out with because that happens all the time ,but one thing really got me angry yesterday , for the record i do not paticular rate the back room staff at liverpool but for rodgers to let them take the flack and he stayed there was gutless ,like its gutless to take players he never wanted ,he was in a pretty healthy posistion when we came 2nd and he should have called fsg out over players he wanted and did not want but he kept his mouth shut ,i do not want a weak minded manager at my club and if it was a ploy by fsg to get rodgers to resign then he should went down with his ship.

rant over franky.

frankyscouserstalkedbyedd2

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has suffered with very poor media communication over several year. The whole Runt situation was mismanaged, Sterling made a joke of himself and the club, Balotelli was always going to be an accident waiting to happen and Rodgers has put his foot in his mouth every time he has opened it. Added to that there was the complete disaster of FSG's choice of Jen Chang. I should not say this but within factions of the press, the current incumbent, Susan Black is seen as way out her depth.}

1.) 06 Jun 2015 12:42:10
To be fair ed002, before signing balotelli, I would've bet his distractions outside the game would've been a lot worse than they have been thus far! Granted BR makes does well to grab the headlines.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure who you are referring to.}

2.) 06 Jun 2015 12:44:53
Ed002 so one of these behind the scenes changes is already wrong! that's a great start isn't it

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what you are referring to.}

3.) 06 Jun 2015 14:25:01
you said Susan Black is seen as being way out of her depth so does that not signal that she was the wrong choice

{Ed002's Note - She was not appointed in the past year.}

4.) 06 Jun 2015 17:05:08
Was referring to balotelli ed002. I'm just saying I thought he would steal the headlines every week for stupidity and it really hasn't been too bad; mainly because BR is a media teams dream.

{Ed002's Note - Well he was fined by the club on a number of occasions.}

i am struggling to think of any italian that has really cut it the prem,

zola prob the best
ravenelli done it for a season.
the new kid at man united does look a good player ,but on the whole i think the pace of the prem is too much for guys who play in a far more technical league.

frankyscouserstalkedbyedd2

{Ed002's Note - Vialli, Silenza, Di Canio, Cudicini, Di Matteo and Carbone are some other examples. I would note that four Italians I can think of (Vialli, Di Matteo, Lombardo and Di Canio) have also managed premier league sides.}
