It's being reported that Keita's agent travelled to Hong Kong to persuade / encourage liverpool to continue to bid for Keita!

fruitba

1.) 26 Jul 2017 23:38:46
They're in Germany not Hong kong.

2.) 27 Jul 2017 01:03:20
I think he meant when Klopp was reported to have met whith NK's agent while we were still in Hong Kong. Hoever if it is true or not I am not sure but I think that might be illegal if so. I am pretty sure the same agency also has Mane on their books though.

3.) 27 Jul 2017 02:23:44
I can picture Keitas agent wandering around an empty training ground in Hong Kong today scratching his head at where everyone has gone 😂.

4.) 27 Jul 2017 11:37:19
Ed02 already said this meeting may or may not have happened, which has gotten RBL peed off at NK's agent for stoking the fires with their player. This has led to the RBL CEO coming out (like John Henry did for Suarez) saying that his agents need to cut it out and that NK is not leaving. If the CEO had to come out and say that then for sure, Keita is not going anywhere. I think that should be the way we go with Couts even if he asks to leave. We should tell him that we need him for this season and that next season, he can go to Barca.

27 Sep 2016 00:47:19
Ed2 sorry for the question but I remember reading a reply you gave a while back regarding three outstanding young talents in world football at the moment and you mentioned sheyi ojo and two other players who are the other two I was trying to find the original post and I am unable. Thanks.

fruitba

{Ed002's Note - In 2013 I was told by someone who knows far better than me that there were four truly exceptional young talents in world football at that time - Chelsea's Nathan Ake, Max Meyer of Schalke, Liverpool's Oluwaseyi Ojo and Martin Benitez of Independiente.}

1.) 27 Sep 2016 03:46:19
Thanks ed. Much appreciated.

2.) 27 Sep 2016 11:42:31
Have you spoken to this person since then ed?
It's just I've seen how things can change very quickly.

{Ed002's Note - I speak to him regularly.}

3.) 27 Sep 2016 17:19:35
Do we have any interest in Martin Benitez or had him scouted stats look pretty good.

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid had two bids for Benitez turned down in January - they, Atletico and Bayer Leverkusen remain interested.}

4.) 27 Sep 2016 09:44:45
Hi Ed,

Do you see Ojo as a truly exceptional talent and will he be able to reach his full potential with us or would he be better going elsewhere to get regular 1st team football?

{Ed002's Note - I think this season will make the kid - whether Klopp wants to use him or not next season will decide where his future lies.}

5.) 28 Sep 2016 08:08:57
I would love to see him get a real shot - he reminds me a bit of Mane in terms of having pace, good skills to take on players one on one, good vision/ passing ability and a natural goal scorer. In short he has doesn't have any obvious weaknesses and just a question of how quickly he develops, which partly is a function of the chances he gets.

6.) 28 Sep 2016 08:12:54
Is he still injured at the moment?

{Ed001's Note - yes, though due back this weekend.}

7.) 28 Sep 2016 13:22:37
Would you put him in the team at the moment with us performing so well and if so who would you leave our for him?

{Ed001's Note - on the bench for me. There is no way we should be making changes unless forced to by injury, imo.}

8.) 28 Sep 2016 14:18:20
I am really excited by Ojo and I hope that Klopp finds a way to use him. People bang on about Rashford and Iheanacho, but I reckon Ojo leaves them in his wake.

9.) 28 Sep 2016 15:45:44
One of the things Klopp seems to do well is integrating players without disrupting the overall squad, and without throwing in players too early and damaging confidence.

I agree with Ed that he shouldn't be starting for a while yet given how Firmino/ Mane/ Coutinho are playing, and what I hope to see is some starts in selected early cup games, and some subs performances late on in selected PL games and take it from there. Next season is perhaps where he may challenge for regular a spot if he continues to grow.

10.) 29 Sep 2016 10:05:26
I like look of Marcus Edwards of Spurs
A few years back I watched an England under 16 match in which Yan Dhanda scored two goals but it was Edwards who ran the show and everything went thru him. But I guess if a player going to make it they need playing time.

11.) 30 Sep 2016 02:24:36
I think we'll see him get a chance if mane gets injured or African nations arriving. rate the boy though.

08 Jul 2016 19:36:17
M. Sakho's case dismissed according to Sky. Great News for him and Lfc. Push on now and look forward to next season.

fruitba

1.) 08 Jul 2016 21:45:00
Excellent news. love this guy. Would of ended the season a lot better with him and Henderson fit and able.

2.) 08 Jul 2016 22:16:20
Good stuff, let's hope he stays here too!

3.) 09 Jul 2016 10:15:09
The Europa final may have been different too. Ah well, onwards and upwards.

{Ed023's Note - All ifs and buts but didn't the fella who replaced him getting Liverpool's man of the match?}

4.) 09 Jul 2016 10:32:45
I didn't realise coke replaced sakho.

{Ed023's Note - Does Coke play for Liverpool? Read what I actually wrote and come back to me}

5.) 09 Jul 2016 10:43:03
Hahaha well played eds.

6.) 09 Jul 2016 10:43:05
@Ed23 why even bother hah?

{Ed023's Note - Just wanted to point out what I said, some people don't bother to read properly but I do agree with you}

7.) 09 Jul 2016 09:45:10
An absolute disgrace. The poor guy missed out on the Europa League final and the Euros because of UEFA and it's "we are right and you are always wrong" attitude. I can't remember any other time when they backed down on a case. Having said all that they still aren't as bad as the FA.
Sakho is like a new signing at this stage as I presumed he was looking at a two to three year suspension.

8.) 09 Jul 2016 11:18:38
He's got a right to be seriously pissed off but I imagine there is also a sense of relief that this is finished with.

9.) 09 Jul 2016 11:48:56
Koke- the other one was more Merson's cup of tea 😉.

10.) 09 Jul 2016 12:36:39
Yes I feel sorry for him, but Toure was by far our best player in his absence, so people need to get over it.

11.) 09 Jul 2016 11:36:33
Have to agree ed kolo was easily man of the match, I don't think sakho playing would have made a difference, quick question mate, would you UEFA have a case to answer for sakho personally for deformation of character?

{Ed023's Note - I doubt they will bother and to be honest I'm not bothered what they do I'm just delighted Sakho resume his Liverpool career.

12.) 09 Jul 2016 12:44:43
Always had a gut feeling that there was nothing to see here after UEFA seemed confused about if the substance was supposed to be on the banned substance list to begin with. The good news just keeps coming. Great stuff!

30 Nov 2015 14:58:05
I see the papers have been linking Liverpool with a summer move for Jack Butland. Is there any truth in these rumours or just lazy journalism due to the fact the Butland is playing well at the moment and there is a general feeling (rightly or wrongly) that mings isn't good enough to play for Liverpool. Personally I think Butland will be a top keeper and would be a good signing for us.

fruitba

{Ed002's Note - I am certain Liverpool has not made any approach to Stoke about a summer move for Butland.}

1.) 02 Dec 2015 00:43:44
Guardian says we're in talks for a new contract for him.

22 Aug 2015 23:25:32
I see Victor Wanyama has told Southampton he wants to leave, personally I think after Matic he is the best DM in the league, would he be a player Liverpool would be interested in, if Lucas leaves.

Thanks in advance

fruitba

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool has never shown an interest in him.}

Klopp signs a new contract until 2024. wow brilliant news. best signing of the year for us.

fruitba

1.) 13 Dec 2019 13:52:07
Best signing since he signed mate.

02 May 2019 09:22:35
This is a very good liverpool team but we have fallen short yet again. I know people will say it's only ht in the tie but Barcelona will score at Anfield and then we need 5. We will fall short in the league also and not because of anything we done wrong but that City have been exceptional this year also. A year that promised so much will end with no Silverware. I think we are miles ahead if the other 18 premier lge teams and we just need to push on next year and hopefully the long wait will be over.

15 Jan 2019 12:19:34
Trent out for a month with a new injury. We are getting very low on defenders at the moment.

fruitba

1.) 15 Jan 2019 12:32:21
Bloody hell is this correct Ed? Leaves us very low on options if so.

{Ed001's Note - yep.}

2.) 15 Jan 2019 12:40:04
Camancho? Didn't play amazing against wolves but there is definitely talent there. Title winning talent? I don't know.

I think we should move for a right back now. Up to this point I have been fine about not buying in this window, not rocking the boat etc.

But,
Gomez,
Lovren,
Matip and trent out with injury. Clyne off to Bournemouth. We need a Rb and as trent is seen as a future CM im sure klopp and Co have plans for buying a Rb at some point. We may be forced into buying that RB this January.

Question is, who? Who would you guys like to see us sign for RB?

I know we have fab and milly who can potentially play there but fab is filling in at CB and milner is invaluable in that midfield (so is fabhino tbf) at this rate we will have Alison at CB, fab out to RB and migs in the sticks!

I'm probably panicking unduly, we have big squads for a reason. Milner can play RB no problem and we have a lot of CMs to play midfield.

And in the next few weeks our injured defence will start to come back to full strength.

{Ed001's Note - Matip is fit.}

3.) 15 Jan 2019 12:41:11
Ohh no! Gutted.

4.) 15 Jan 2019 12:43:31
So Ed, I guess it will be Milner for now?

{Ed001's Note - or Fabs.}

5.) 15 Jan 2019 12:46:53
Ffs great. Dropping like flys all in the defensive area. Is Gomez back in training? Could of done with Clyne to cover.

6.) 15 Jan 2019 12:59:45
I'd have fabinho at Rb with matip on personally.

7.) 15 Jan 2019 13:11:19
Fabinho is a right back for Brazil at international level and milner has shown himself to be more than capable there. Matip back and gomez back in a few weeks. Nothing too much to worry about imo.

8.) 15 Jan 2019 13:31:21
I'll have Milner at RB, with Fabinho at the centre. Let Matip stay on the bench.
Joe Gomez should be back in the next 2 weeks, I presume. We'll be fine.

9.) 15 Jan 2019 13:31:36
I've mentioned it on another thread, but the young lad, Hoever, that came on at CB against Wolves is naturally a RB. It could be his time to shine. He certainly looked like he's got the minerals.

10.) 15 Jan 2019 13:36:28
Ah, thanks ed01, I didn't know matip was back. That makes it less of a problem then. Matip at CB and fabhino out on the right.

Alisson

Fab matip vvd and robbo.

That is a pretty strong defence. I wouldn't be surprised if fab turns out to be a better RB than young trent. Matip looks to have improved a lot too. All our defenders look so much better alongside vvd.

11.) 15 Jan 2019 14:22:37
Think its a big problem, especially playing fabs RB, where we need the width through our full backs. let's face it TAA isn't great defensively but brings a ton going forward. might mean a lack of penetration going forward.

12.) 15 Jan 2019 14:40:11
It may be a step too soon or a step too far, for Hoever. But it's a good idea to keep him on the bench, just in case. I'd rather go with Milner at right back, Fabinho at CB and Hendo, Wiji and Shaq at midfield. We'll be at home against Crystal Palace; got to continue with our 4-2-3-1. And I prefer Fabinho's tougher approach to Matip's against the likes of Zaha and Benteke.

13.) 15 Jan 2019 16:14:24
What’s all this clamour for Clyne all of a sudden? Even if he was still here Milly would start ahead of him at RB anyway!
Just people trying to find another stick to beat the club with. Clyne wasn’t good enough and asked to go so we got rid.
He just would’ve been sitting on the bench anyway taking valuable experiences away from one of the academy players.

14.) 15 Jan 2019 17:30:52
I think fab is more than direct enough to bee an attacking FB.

15.) 15 Jan 2019 19:52:07
You cannot play RB for Brazil if you have limited attacking quality. That is a fact since the days of Jorginho and Cafu after him. Fab can get forward and provide quality as that is the quality you have to have to play RB for Brazil. If he plays there then he will be solid even tho I agree that Milner should play at RB with Fab in DM protecting him and the rest of the back line.

20 Nov 2018 22:13:23
Both neymar and mbappe injured tonight and could miss CL game with us. finally some good news after an international break.

fruitba

{Ed002's Note - Good news players getting injured you think?}

1.) 20 Nov 2018 22:20:19
They didn't die, I'm sure they will be ok in a few weeks.

2.) 20 Nov 2018 22:21:18
It’s part of the game Ed. Players get injured. You’re just lucky sometimes that just as you’re about to play someone their 2 best players get injured.
Good news for them? No. But for us? Of course.
I’m sure both will live to roll around on many more football pitches in the near future.

3.) 20 Nov 2018 22:27:18
I dislike the International breaks due to that reason, it’s never good to see players injured and we want to be playing the best players in the world, it’s all part of the romance of the CL. IMO

I had to miss the home tie against PSG due to work commitments and was out of the country. To be fair, I was pretty gutted to have missed the match as I love it when the top players come to Anfield, it’s a privilege to watch these guys play.

4.) 20 Nov 2018 23:38:28
Really? We are happy players are getting injured? Absolutely fickle and ridiculous.
Besides that, would you be happy beating a reserve team? How many of them injured would really please you?

5.) 21 Nov 2018 06:06:32
Exactly Benny.

No matter what the player, an injury really shouldn't make any of us happy, I'd rather beat a full strength PSG, no point doing things the easy way is there? Neymar I can't stand but I'd never wish an injury on him.

6.) 21 Nov 2018 06:14:45
First of all its not at all good for us being excited over someones injury.
Second of all its not good anyway because without neymar they would play better as team. They have lot of talent, the game is in their yard and they certainly have enough players on them to replace neymar and mbappe, they have draxler, di maria, and yea timothy weah, nkunku ust to name a few. I don't know why that is good news at all. If there is neymar who just put him in a pocket and all their attacks die.

7.) 21 Nov 2018 07:48:42
Kinda got both ends of the spectrum here. there is an obvious advantage but ya still got to turn up. On paper, PSG's starting XI minis Neymar and Mbappe is strong than Red Star ye? But we still lost to 'em. Anything can happen, just changed the dynamics.

8.) 21 Nov 2018 13:44:36
Ah now folks, we don’t mind if Ramos gets injured in fairness 😉.

9.) 21 Nov 2018 16:16:29
Victory at any and all costs? Victory with a footnote that Neymar and Mbappe were out injured on the night PSG got pushed out of the UCL? No thanks. (And makes you wonder what kind of people express joy and celebration when footballers are injured and unable to perform the job they earn a living from? ) .

10.) 21 Nov 2018 17:55:20
So the holier than thou brigade are out I see. Don’t tell me than you wouldn’t be happy if we were about to play Utd and De Gea pulled a hammy in training.
You can’t wish serious injury on players that would affect their livelihood that would be out of order. But a minor injury that keeps them out for just about long enough to miss a game against us is fine by me.
It’s part of the game and why the top teams have huge squads.
I’m sure our top players will be injured for some games this season and our opponents will be happy about that.
Don’t make it into more than it actually is people.

11.) 21 Nov 2018 18:57:27
Spot on, Benny. If people think the PSG fans would not be happy if any of our players Salah esp. were unavailable due to injury then they are fooling themselves, end of. I personally would not want anyone to get injured (esp. to the point of being unable to play for a while) BUT it is part of the game and by the way, PSG have a big enough squad of players to cope cos after all, they were supposed to have won the CL by now, right? They should be able to cope. Either way, I fully expect them to play on Wed.

12.) 21 Nov 2018 22:11:28
BB, personally I'd rather us score a shed load of goals against De Gea over Romero. It'd be that bit more satisfying. I agree it is part of the game, nobody can argue that, it's fact but I still wouldn't be thinking before a big game such as PSG 'fingers crossed Neymar, Mbappe, Rabiot all get injured' the game would be less entertaining without the big names.

If we had Salah and Firmino out and they beat us, the excuses of them being injured would soon come out. Same will be for them if we beat them, their two biggest names injured lol it's not clever to beat a team without their biggest 2 players.

With me, I enjoy entertaining football and I can only hope every single one of their players are fully fit as well as ours, it makes it fair. We'll still do them I have no doubts about it.

13.) 22 Nov 2018 00:04:40
You’re missing the point Salah. No one is sitting there praying for players to get injured but that doesn’t change the fact that it makes it easier to win if their best players do get injured so what’s wrong with being happy about that?
If we’re in the Europa League come January I guarantee you that you won’t be saying ‘it’s ok because we played against Neymar and Mbappe and it was a joyous game of football’.
Also what’s fairer about their full side being available? We don’t have Ox so does that mean every game we play this season isn’t fair?
Honestly mate I get the sentiment, you shouldn’t wish injury on anyone but if the best players from another team are out when you play them you are lucky and should be pleased.
It very often goes the other way and the players that come in fight hard for their place and it becomes a harder game. I personally think they will both be patched up and play anyway, it’s a huge game for them after losing at Anfield.

{Ed002's Note - The point is that you need to be bigger than celebrating injury to players. Liverpool fans of old would expect to see the team put up against allcomers and win regardless - and for a long time they did. The new age supporters want to try and justify the cheating, look for any edge they can get through celebrating injuries to the opposition etc.. It is no big deal and sort of reflects the transition we have seen from the cheerful scallywag to the shaven-headed, lager-swilling, pot-bellied, tattooed knuckle-dragging oaf that personifies the modern day fan.}

14.) 22 Nov 2018 13:33:23
Bloody great point you make there Ed2, the difference between the fans who saw Liverpool dominate (us older lot) and the younger fans is incredible. They want instant success at any cost, me, I'm all about a fair game and I think the majority of the older generation are. The youngsters wish injuries on players to try and get an advantage, that's something I'm well against. I want to see us win fair and square because I know we're capable.

BB I'm not saying you're one of them mate, just speaking in general.

15.) 22 Nov 2018 18:48:46
I’m not one of those Salah I was brought up on the Kop in the 80s and I can tell you now even back then you’d still have a smile if you played Everton and they had players out injured.
I think there’s a huge difference between hoping someone gets injured and being glad when they do.
Surely no one hopes for injury but if your opponents best players are injured when you play them you’re kidding yourself if you say you’re not a bit pleased.

16.) 22 Nov 2018 21:06:04
We have different opinions on this one BB mate :) .

When will the fixtures be announced for the CL group games.

fruitba

1.) 30 Aug 2018 21:35:05
It said 2 hours on BT but it is 4 hours and counting.

2.) 30 Aug 2018 21:58:55
Liverpool v Paris Saint-Germain - Tuesday September 18, 8pm
Napoli v Liverpool - Wednesday October 3, 8pm
Liverpool v Red Star - Wednesday October 24, 8pm
Red Star v Liverpool - Tuesday November 6, 5.55pm
Paris Saint-Germain v Liverpool - Wednesday November 28, 8pm
Liverpool v Napoli - Tuesday December 11, 8pm.

3.) 31 Aug 2018 08:18:08
I would have liked an easier draw than that, but it is what it is!
The fixtures have been kind as well, with the first and last games at home, and also every League game following each CL game is at home, so all in all, a good day at the office!

Suarez was a genius on the field. He always gave 100%, singlehandedly nearly won us the league and is one of the best players to play for our club. How people can say look at Torres with Rose tinted glasses when he forced a move to Chelsea.
Ppl still give out about what he done to Ghana, give it a rest, do u think Argentinians care about Maradonas HOG against England as long as they won.
He bite 3 players in his career and should have been banned for life for that but that shouldn't take away from out doubted footballing genius.

Ed002 liverpool can play whoever they like once they are registered. Who is to judge whether player a is better than b, its the managers call and right to do so. How do Uefa decide a team have played a weaker team, its subjective.

fruitba

{Ed002's Note - Why are you bothering with this. There are rules regarding fielding weakened sides and clubs have to adhere to them or face charges.}
