Hi reds and Eds,

I haven't posted for a long while but wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to the the Eds and the regular posters, this is without doubt the best reds fan forum.

What can I say about the CL final, like many reds I feel a sense of disappointment rather than devastation. I hate using the cliche but it wasn't meant to be.

We were clearly superior in the first 20 mins, RM won the game fair enough but they did not beat the best that we had to offer - circumstances robbed us of the opportunity to show the world (again) the exciting/ attacking style that will always be the hallmark of the 2017/ 18 season.

I agree 100% with those reds fans who have reminded us where we were only 5/ 6 years ago - it's taken a while but Klopp and FSG have brought us back as a huge force in European football.

For the first time in a long time we go into a summer transfer window with certainty and expectation as we track/ buy top quality players:

Keita will become a huge star
Fabinho is exactly the DM we needed
Fekir would be superb
Salah, Mane and Firmino (will destroy defences again next year) .
VVD - pure class!
Robertson - I thought he was our best player in the CL final

Yes we need a keeper and maybe even another winger but I now feel confident that the club is finally able to bring in top quality players on a regular basis.

Let's not forget the club is also likely to announce plans to increase Anfield to 60000 - this is another sign of the club moving forward.

Finally we reds (perhaps more than any other fans) truly understand the need to back our club, team and players through the good times and the bad. Karius is part of the Liverpool family and he should receive as much support as we can possibly muster.

How many times have we seen amazing stories of redemption in sport and life in general. I look forward to the day when Karius saves penalties etc to bring glory to himself and our club/ fans - Karius will NEVER walk alone!

Apologies for the long post (I'm still a bit emotional) . We have a lot to be proud of - exciting times ahead - YNWA.

You were so emotional jam that you let it cloud your judgement on Karius.

Great post, OP esp. your opinion on Karius. Whatever Klopp decides to do with Karius going forward, right now that man needs our support cos like it or not, he is one of us and part of the family. YNWA!

Hi fellow reds / eds,

It feels so good to be sitting back watching transfer deadline day with all of Liverpool's deals done a while ago. It wasn't so long ago that we were all p. d about the clubs failure to sign Clint Dempsey - now look where we are.

I'm not one of those fans who get hyped about any signing (Borini, Assaidi etc) but I have to say that BR and FSG have done a fantastic job this summer. yes we've overpaid for a few players (who doesn't these days) but the depth and quality has improved dramatically, we are finally in a position where we can focus on signing one or two players in future windows (top quality defensive midfielder still needed) as opposed to worrying about the lack of quality and what will happen if we lose one of our few top drawer players.

I think the result at spurs reminded people (including so many pundits) just how many attacking options we have - we could seriously challenge for the title again this season if BR can work on the defensive unit (Moreno, Lovren, Sakho and Manquillo have so much potential). I note that Ed002 has made some interesting comments about players being 'brendaned' but I don't think anyone in their right mind can argue with the sustained improvement over last few years.

I for one am delighted with where we are now - thankyou BR and FSG - YNWA

Hi reds fans/eds

I haven't posted for a while but I've been following the banter on a regular basis - the eds are doing a fantastic job (as per usual) and like so many other reds fans I'm so grateful for the views and info that they provide.

On another note I was wondering whether reds fans think it would be a good idea to sing the "heart as big as Liverpool" song at anfield; especially during the hillsborough anniversary period - apologies if you all think it's a rubbish idea maybe I just tend to get too emotional at the anniversary dates over the years. I watched a YouTube clip with the song dedicated to the 96 and it just felt so right - it would be another emotional way of showing solidarity with the families and pride in the team and the city - YNWA

What is it with Pepe Reina - I know I shouldn't read too much into what the anti Liverpool press are saying about him signing for Barca but his whole approach was based on keeping the reds as a second option (contract extension) just in case the Barca deal didn't material - since when did we allow players to treat out club that way regardless of their previous service. This is another example of the fantastic job that BR has done so far. For me Reina was taking the p. s, he (and his high wages) deserved to be offloaded by the club. Anyone else who thinks otherwise needs to remember that nobody is bigger than the club.

Collymore was a huge dissapontment, he was awesome for forest but like so many of our signings he couldn't deal with the size of the club and the style of play (the team rightly focused on Fowler) .

Benayoun played well in red shirt, I was a bit underwhelmed with his signing but Finnan was awesome - a very good example of a player upping his level on a consistent basis and rising to the challenge.
