Is the reported interest in Aleix Vidal (RB from barcelona) genuine? Tried the search function but only found the bayern vidal mentioned.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what is being reported but the player rejected and approach by Sevilla as he wants to move to Roma, but Roma need to sell before they can buy, but they are interested. Both Inter and Milan are interested as well but Milan are not in a position to commit at this time. Inter have discussed him with Barcelona whilst negotiating with them over another player. His representative has been offering him around but I am not aware of any discussion with Liverpool but he has spoken with Manchester United who Wein already has a relationship with as he placed a player there in the summer and they are interested in another of his charges, and he knows MU were interested in a team mate of Vidals who plays in the same position. It is very likely that he has approached Everton as he will be aware that the right back they were showing an interest in for a pre-contract has indicated that he does not want to move to England - so he will see a potential buyer there. He certainly approached one London-based club but they had no interest in any discussions about the player.}

Brilliant comprehensive answer as always thanks Ed002! No idea how you store the amount of info!

06 Jan 2018 21:31:15
beIN sports reporting mahrez agreed at 48mil. He's suppose to be having his medical tomorrow. Not sure how reliable beIN is but seems pretty legit.

1.) 06 Jan 2018 21:42:29
I’m hoping they’re just reporting it to boost people betting on it.

2.) 06 Jan 2018 21:48:10
Metro saying medical in morn.

3.) 06 Jan 2018 21:50:43
seen quite a few reporting it now (am be it on twitter) I HATE BEING SO GULLIBLE! ha.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 21:51:49
Oh pls, someone tell me that it is fake news.

5.) 06 Jan 2018 21:51:55
I really hope so his statistics since 2014 are very similar to coutihno in a side not as talented all be it the freak league winning season he also has 7 assists this season with 7 goals, he available for champions league an performed well in it for leicster last season this lad needs a platform.

6.) 06 Jan 2018 21:53:14
The betting he’s 1/ 5 on now. Any of the Ed’s heard anything bout marhez?

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it but have no checked.}

7.) 06 Jan 2018 22:21:33
Mr Denis-bein sports is a tv network, nothing to do with betting.

8.) 06 Jan 2018 22:24:49
He would be a brilliant signing. More of a wide player so if we did sign him be interesting to see where he fits in. Since 2015 He has more goals than hazard and Coutinho and also more assists than hazard and Coutinho. If Klopp wants him then that's good enough for me. Every signing he has made has turned out good.

9.) 06 Jan 2018 22:27:26
Dont see why he's getting all the criticism when he was by a mile the best player in the league when Leicester won it and this year he has the same amount of league goals as Coutinho aswell as MORE assists while playing for a team which is extremely defensive and significantly weaker in terms of quality. For 100m less.

10.) 06 Jan 2018 22:32:54
Mahrez = Smokescreen.

11.) 06 Jan 2018 22:38:31
Have you cheked it ed?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

12.) 06 Jan 2018 22:38:58
I'd be interested to see him in a red shirt, I'd definitely give him a shot. Appreciate he's a lot older than counts when he first came but look at his situation when he first arrived.

13.) 06 Jan 2018 22:59:31
Can we please stick in a condition in the contract that he fixes his hair.

14.) 06 Jan 2018 23:30:23
Didn't think medicals happen on weekends?

15.) 07 Jan 2018 04:56:31
Bein sports is a sports network here in the Middle East (I am based in Dubai) . I have no idea how they would claim to know of this transfer so I am going to play to just fact less rumor chat.

Red Sandman.

{Ed001's Note - I never knew you were in Dubai as well mate.}

16.) 07 Jan 2018 06:16:45
Just got sent out here, Ed001, on a two year secondment by my firm. It isn't too bad it has to be said, the weather is lovely and the people seem friendly enough! Although working on a local work week (Sunday to Thursday) is quite annoying when the football is on!

Red Sandman.

{Ed001's Note - at least you can guarantee you can see every game out here! Whereabouts are you based?}

17.) 07 Jan 2018 07:15:55
Working in DIFC but managed to get a flat sorted in the Marina. What about yourself?

{Ed001's Note - Marina? Bloody hell I never realised you was posh! I am living in Deira mate, the cheap seats, while the other half live it up in the luxury of the Marina.}

18.) 07 Jan 2018 07:53:10
Haha I would love to think that I am posh but luckily my firm are taking care of my housing. I think they are doing it as they felt quite bad for essentially forcing me to move all the way out to Dubai from london!

{Ed001's Note - I am sure it must have been real heartbreak to leave the hell of London to move to Dubai Marina! You poor bugger, my heart bleeds for you.}

19.) 07 Jan 2018 17:09:28
jowens560, Kante was Leicester's best player by a mile when they won the title.

20.) 07 Jan 2018 17:10:48
I reckon it's a done deal.

06 Jan 2018 16:49:21
Coutinho deal done according to paul Joyce to be announced/ tomorrow. 142 mill.

1.) 06 Jan 2018 17:04:28
Quality player but equally a quality price . I’m sad to see him go, just hope we find someone able to step up to the mark.

2.) 06 Jan 2018 17:04:54
Yep I've read the same, it's been coming so im not Suprised. I'd have liked him to stay but good luck to the lad 👍.

3.) 06 Jan 2018 17:10:11
The announcement needs to come sooner so we can all move on to the next topic.
Glad this heartbreak will be done an dusted soon haha.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 17:11:04
Thank you for your service little magician. Gutted you could not stick it out with is just this yesterday since we are in the cusp of something good but o well.

5.) 06 Jan 2018 17:12:02
Hey he wants to go he doesn't want to play for us great price move on new chapter for the mighty reds.

6.) 06 Jan 2018 17:27:19
Seems silly to let him go mid season, especially whilst in the CL, we hardly have a squad that will compete, if he goes I see us not getting much further!
I assume the lads we've looked at will be CL tied?

7.) 06 Jan 2018 17:54:41
DeanW he hasn’t given the club a choice, it’s a lot better to just get rid of him and it sounds like he was doing everything possible not to stay.
eds am I right in thinking Couts will get a bit of the shared bonus the players will get when (not if, sorry RM) Barcelona win the league and winners medal. He hasn’t won jack with us and that’s my understanding on him forcing the move now and not waiting till the summer (could be wrong it’s all a guessing game only he knows what’s in his head)

{Ed001's Note - he just wanted out, nothing to do with bonuses.}

8.) 06 Jan 2018 18:17:27
Fair enough ED1 I guesst his head was turned long before LFC turned that long awaited corner and started looking like a promising team capable of competing again.

{Ed001's Note - it is odd because it was Neymar that used to chirp in his ear about Barca!}

9.) 06 Jan 2018 18:43:54
Yeah i’m surprised he didn’t convince him to join him at PSG instead, they might have paid even more for him and all upfront (assuming Barcelona probably hasn’t/ won’t) but they have other priorities I guess so he'd have to wait another year or 2.
I won't be surprised if he does eventually go that way in the future though.

31 Aug 2017 13:30:02
Arsenal back in for Lemar?

Ed001 any idea whether that is true?

{Ed001's Note - not a clue sorry.}

1.) 31 Aug 2017 13:38:24
Thanks for quick reply.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 13:38:55
Apparently they believe they can get him for £70 million

Why would they accept a lot less then they told Liverpool they must be dumb over in London.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 14:04:12
90m is the rumoured arsenal bid.

4.) 31 Aug 2017 14:12:29
" they must be dumb over in London. "

What are they smoking?

20 Jul 2017 22:33:44
Fresh reports from the newspapers that there is a 72mill bid for Cout from Barca.

Any eds know if there is any truth to this?

1.) 20 Jul 2017 22:57:13
If Keita is valued by us at 66/ 70. we shouldn't be entertaining nothing under 100 million, even then I wouldn't want to sell, Coutinho at this current time is irreplaceable and we'd look like fools yet again to be selling our most influential player.

{Ed002's Note - The prices of players are unrelated - but yes there is an offer and yes it is less than Liverpool would want.}

2.) 20 Jul 2017 22:58:54
We should launch a Bid for Neymar as a counter and hand em a sticky note that says get lost.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot afford Neymar - they would be making themselves even more of a laughing stock.}

3.) 20 Jul 2017 23:07:57
Couts plus Sakho for Neymar.

Fair deal.

4.) 20 Jul 2017 23:12:28
You obviously have a serious problem with Liverpool as a Football club.

{Ed002's Note - I don't have any problem with them at all. Everything I have said is true. Liverpool cannot afford Neymar - it is very simple.}

5.) 20 Jul 2017 23:13:52
Straight swap for neymar so Eds 😂.

6.) 20 Jul 2017 23:14:50
£110m. That's what I'd be happy to take and let him go. Would prefer he stayed though.

7.) 20 Jul 2017 23:23:21
Get Keita and Van Dijk in and we'll be no laughing stock.

8.) 20 Jul 2017 23:30:02
Ed02 I thought Barcelona are looking at bidding for Kylian Mbappe? Have you heard anything like this?

{Ed002's Note - This is the Liverpool page. Try the European pages or the Barcelona page.}

9.) 20 Jul 2017 23:50:36
No chance of coutinho leaving :) can't wait to see him smash a couple past Barcelona in the champs league semis.

10.) 20 Jul 2017 23:50:56
I think that was a joke ed002! Relax! 😂😂😂.

11.) 20 Jul 2017 23:55:20
I thought from using this site that Lfc were the only team in the world who attempted to low-ball when trying to land players.

12.) 20 Jul 2017 23:51:04
What is the local time over there mate lol! It's night here. How could you have fresh reports at nights!

13.) 21 Jul 2017 00:01:33
It's already done.

As is keita and vvd.

It's exactly the same as Everton buying all there players for 90 mil and all of a sudden getting exactly that back for lukaku.

Spurs buying all there players for 106 mil and just happening to get 96 mil back.

There is no way on this planet we go from 60 mil last year with ed002 whose always spot on saying we were over spending and couldn't compete with the likes of United and city. To over spending them near 150 mil without actually being in the champions league yet, counting on sakho, Lucas, Stewart and Moreno sales.

All that's holding it up I think is the unexpected stubbornness of rb.

Mark my words as soon as keita is announced, cou will and then vvd will.

I'm sad because if we were in United's position and didn't have to sell we would be winning the league with Keita and vvd added and no-one leaving.

14.) 21 Jul 2017 00:12:24
coutinho is better than neymar. what's more he would be the worst fit for our team. don't think I have ever seen him make a tackle.

15.) 21 Jul 2017 01:20:11
I would be extremely disappointed if cout leaves Even For 200m. I Just want to see cout play For us week In week out.

16.) 21 Jul 2017 01:27:59
Spidermane, you're not taking into consideration any of the money we got for TV rights and finishing 4th in the league. Go and do some research on the amount we got this year conpared to last and you'll realise why we can spend more.

17.) 21 Jul 2017 01:35:13
Was just being facetious. cheeky way of saying not for sale, I know it wouldn't work and if actually done would raise some unwanted eyebrows. Barca always get their man in the end though :/.

18.) 21 Jul 2017 02:19:06
From all accounts Coutinho is way more professional than Neymar who looks in danger of following Ronaldinho's path. If true, then a straight swap would be our loss.

19.) 21 Jul 2017 03:44:17
Coutinho is not for sale.

20.) 21 Jul 2017 05:52:40
Suarez, straight swap?

21.) 21 Jul 2017 08:21:36
Nor is Keita PowerLFC.!

22.) 21 Jul 2017 08:41:48
We are not selling our best player at any price. That should be the mantra.

23.) 21 Jul 2017 09:23:47
Please end the transfer window now! I don't want another 6 week's of worrying if Couts might go!

24.) 21 Jul 2017 11:16:15

You mention Liverpool cannot afford Barcelona, .

Now deep down, I know you have a soft spot for the mighty reds.

I'm sure I read somewhere that you lived in Monaco, so must have a few bob Ed002! So why not share some of that wealth with the club, enhancing our chances of signing Neymar, and helping LFC not to look a laughing stock

{Ed002's Note - What I said was that Liverpool cannot affort Neymar.}

25.) 21 Jul 2017 10:50:26
72mil + Suarez will be tempting.

26.) 21 Jul 2017 12:15:57
72 plus suarez would be impossible to turn down and we would be mad to.

27.) 21 Jul 2017 12:05:05
True enough Ed002, but with your money we could buy Barcelona too ;-)

28.) 21 Jul 2017 13:38:40
Greg 150. I can't honestly see that. is it likely we can afford to spend that without at least recoupingn half back?

According to Melissa Reddy who is pretty reliable with LFC news.

Inter have made a serious offer for Sturridge, loan deal with a substantial fee and a route to a permanent deal. She also says Sturridge hopes Seville will make a offer as she believes that is his first choice.

Looks like he will be off one way or another. Hope the lad does well.

{Ed002's Note - Sevilla and Real Betis made loan offers ages ago and were told that Liverpool wanted a sale.}

16 Jan 2018 07:38:43
Looks like migs is considering his future at the club. As he says in a interview over night that he needs to think about his future as there is a World Cup coming up.

Looks like karius is getting a run in the team.

1.) 16 Jan 2018 08:19:41
Klopp has already come out and said before the City game that Karius will be number 1 now.

i think he is decided over mignolet and is looking to give Karius a fair chance to prove himself till the end of the season.

2.) 16 Jan 2018 08:45:42
It's making me wonder now he has said this. I wonder if he can get a move this month? We're only half way through the window, anything is possible. Even if this was to happen I'd still want Karius to have his chance before bringing somebody else in.

3.) 16 Jan 2018 08:57:40
So the rest of the season including knockout stages of CL with just Karius and Ward?

4.) 16 Jan 2018 08:58:03
According to the interview Mignolet gave, he spoke to Klopp about chopping and changing goalkeepers. Klopp obviously agreed and made Karius his choice.

5.) 16 Jan 2018 09:02:10
LOl. 2 games on the bench and he fear of his chances at WC. He must be dumb to think he would ever replace Courtios!

6.) 16 Jan 2018 09:15:09
True Ron. I know what your saying but if all else fails, we have Bogdan ;)

7.) 16 Jan 2018 13:38:45
Maybe he’s considering his future in goalkeeping as a trade cos the only way he’s going to the World Cup is if he’s selling ice cream. I don’t think he’d even be trusted to do that without dropping them.

06 Jan 2018 11:51:37
No Mahrez in Leicester squad today. He'd be cup tied if he played granted he could just be rested but could also mean he's on the move.

I'd much rather Lemar over mahrez but I'm wondering if there is a chance of both. With the idea of mahrez to be used when Mane not in form or salah gets injured or even worse for us. When Salah maybe sold.

Am I overthinking it Ed001 😂?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

1.) 06 Jan 2018 12:12:11
😂 Thanks ed001.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

2.) 06 Jan 2018 14:23:40
At the same time Jordz I could see the options you provided as viable. Pipco-Barce, Mahrex-LFC, look to Lemar in the summer?

3.) 06 Jan 2018 15:13:03
No Mahrez, pls. Arsenal can have him as he will be another one to stagnate at the Wenger School of Stagnation.

04 Jan 2018 14:01:36
Salah out of everton game.

1.) 04 Jan 2018 14:23:38
We already been told he was out around two weeks so didn't expect him to play.

2.) 04 Jan 2018 14:40:34
You mean the player who was ruled out for two weeks, one week ago, and who will be in Ghana 24 hours before kick off, isn't playing? 😱

I'm only joking, jordz. It was pretty clear he wouldn't play though. I'm not convinced Mane will start either as he's ill apparently, and also in Ghana as i type this, too.

With Coutinho throwing a paddy whack again, it looks like we'll be down Bobby, Solanke and Ox as the front line, with Mane coming off the bench. Maybe Ings and Woodburn can get a game even?

This is why we have a squad i guess. Plus Everton are awful and it will be embarrassing if we fail to beat them. AGAIN. I wonder if they'll make more than 50 passes this time? 😂.

3.) 04 Jan 2018 14:55:24
More reason to have played his first team first time round 😡
Rotate players and they get injured anyway 🙄.

4.) 04 Jan 2018 15:18:19
I'd be happy to see Woodburn get a shout if Mane is unavailable. Maybe Woodburn Firmino and Ox as the front three.

Be surprised if he gets a go though before any potential loan move.

5.) 04 Jan 2018 15:21:05
Ron, the first team played 3 days later against WBA and couldn’t win that one either, get over it mate.

03 Jan 2018 01:05:53
Video on of how schalke have been using two players we are linked with. Meyer and Goretzka.

Seems this year meyer has been holding more whilst goretzka taking up the attacking mid position.

It's not really pressure from fans. I think we are all used to our ups and downs over the last 20 years we have seen them.

But the only way we can keep out of the pressure is by winning games. You can't stop the pundits from saying after a 0-0 draw against a mid table team "they missed that bit of magic that Coutinho offered".

I am not saying that using woodburn is wrong but I feel like we are putting a lot of pressure on the lad if we are thinking he will be playing part of a very dynamic midfield 3. He would be must better being subbed on for mane or salah. Not the pressure of pulling the strings. So many fans jumped on solankes back already and he's only played 400 mins.

I think the lad will take his opportunity if he is used, but will he effectively anyways? Or are we going to wait for the games where is 0-0 and expect him to come on and win us the game? It's a risky strategy.

Over spending wouldn't bother me too much. The club has to obviously work within the FFP rules but spending big money on the likes of someone like Lemar wouldn't worry me.

Every transfer is a risk, but our recent ones in Mane, Salah and Ox seem to be paying off despite some feeling we overspent with them when they first joined.

End of the day Lemar is a highly regarded young french national that the likes of Barcelona were looking at if Coutinho deal didn't go through. He obviously has ability, the risk comes in when we think if he can cope with the premier league.

I am glad woodburn is getting a chance, he should be getting that as backup to mane and salah.

But in my opinion the club has had ample time to prepare for coutinho leaving and not getting a replacement or any midfielder with Henderson injury record is a huge risk.

Remember the meltdown after we drew to West Brom and Everton! One or two poor results the pressure will crank up.

I agree Juicer. Don't see the point in waiting unless the guy is desperate to join us which he isn't.

He will be in demand in the summer, the price is only going to increase. Monaco don't need the money and he's going to play the world cup in a good french team.

Neither Karius or Migs have done enough to be able to guarantee themselves no1. Migs has been in this poor form for the last 18 months or so.

I don't think Migs has anyone but himself to blame for not being able to hold down no1 spot as his performances haven't been good enough. That being said I don't blame him for wanting to move on now given the situation. It is very clear to him and karius the club is looking for a new keeper at least in the summer.

Both will be thinking about there future as the club looks to someone else.

Everyone said the same when we signed Salah and Chamberlain. How wrong we were as fans at least on Salah.

I've watched french league for 3 years and Lemar would improve our squad and first 11. Is he worth 90mill? No. But was Coutinho worth 142mill? No. But both players would improve our first 11.

Don't know why we are worried tho. Lemar will prob be off to Arsenal or Barca.

Lemar stats last season were great. Got 15 goals and 17 assists. Think he would do very good in a team like ours with the front three we have. Agree with the ed he's a lot more than just potential.

I agree on the injury front.

But Sturridge is not the answer. If we are going to have a backup they need to have the two attributes our current front three have. Good pace and hard worker. Sturridge doesn't have the legs for this type of role.

We need players that we don't have to change our style of play for as backups in my opinion.

He should be allowed to move on. The club should strengthen areas like midfield. An injury to Can, Ox or Wij means we have milner in midfield. Not great, team dynamics will change then. There is plenty of players in the market in that area.

Strikers wise, happy to have solanke and ings as back up.

Are Liverpool interested Ed02? I think going for a younger player with potential could be a good way to go. We just need that different style of player similar to coutinho for the games where team will just sit back.

There will always be mistakes. With the TV coverage now we can't miss a thing. As fans we really need to try and stop the rot of blaming players so quickly and get behind them. Then we might carry on seeing transformations like we have in Ox and Robertson at least yesterday. I get it when players have been given the chance and they don't take it but the karius thing is disgusting how far fans go.

Lovren did seem to duck out on the third goal but I saw Robertson also had one hand on Gundogan when the cross came in and then lost him. Just think it was a lack of concentration from them all a little bit to be honest. Thought Lovren had a good game apart from that.
