Old school-style news but good friend works high up in the ranks of Morgan Stanley and has officially confirmed that FSG has been touting around to them to help sell off the club. Didn't mention the valuation expected but I assume somewhere in the 3-4b range.
Club definitely prefers to directly sell off to an individual buyer rather than a consortium. He also did say there was strong interest in the club from India and surprisingly Thailand. Let's see how it pans out.

Old school and enjoyable. I hope your right on the individual buyer piece. that's what I ve been hoping for.

2.) 14 Nov 2022 10:31:54
My mate at Morgan Stanley says your mate at Morgan Stanley doesn't have access through the compliance wall.

3.) 14 Nov 2022 10:45:14
Standard Chartered are fuming that they didn't get the gig. My mate Stanley told me. He drives a Morgan.

4.) 14 Nov 2022 11:11:40
"Morgan Stanley" always makes me think of the beginning of "Porridge".

5.) 14 Nov 2022 11:25:09
There is NO interest from India. The Mukesh Ambani rumours are false. I would be more focused on how our relationship with RedBird might change.

6.) 14 Nov 2022 12:49:13
My mate Morgan told me something different and he’s got a Stanley, so watch it.

7.) 14 Nov 2022 16:22:45
I remember when I worked in our local steelworks years ago the big boss caught somebody sleeping on the job and sacked him. The guy's response was "you c**t, you're going to meet Uncle Stanley".
Later the big boss said to his number 2 "fancy they guy getting his old uncle to come and sort me out", his number 2 had to explain who "Uncle Stanley" was - and that the guy he'd just sacked had a reputation and track record of being very handy with "Uncle Stanley".
Big boss suddenly stopped pushbiking to work.

8.) 14 Nov 2022 17:31:35
Well my mate Stan Morgan used to live in India and, when he did, had a red pet bird (parrot I think) .
Stan supports Liverpool and likes cricket too.
He hasn’t a clue who is interested or going to buy LFC but I thought it’s worth mentioning, no?

{Ed014's Note - how about no!

Hi eds and fellow reds,

Usually don't like to join in on gossips and rumours, but have you seen the youtube video of Alex Teixera's interview with Anfield HQ? (I won't put the link here in case that's not allowed, just search Anfield HQ on youtube and you'll find it)

It's really worth a watch as it's about his feelings towards Liverpool, to summarise he's trying his best to come to Liverpool to reunite with Coutinho (who he played with since 10 years old), and he wasn't sure why Shakhtar rejected our offer of 32 million euros (his own words) . Also to his knowledge Liverpool haven't put in a second bid, but his agent is trying his best to complete his move to Anfield, and its now up to the president whether or not he'll be allowed to leave.

I have no idea why or how he's allowed to have an interview to talk about him wanting to leave the club (surely Shakhtar wouldn't allow that especially as he's in his Shakhtar kit in the video), but now I've got my hopes even higher that he will come this transfer window!

Come on transfer committee you can do it!

{Ed001's Note - did you mean this one:

1.) 27 Jan 2016 17:31:49
Could it play out like Sterling and we get the player?

Second thought on this one. Would it help if he handed in a transfer request?

2.) 27 Jan 2016 17:28:27
I can't see why shatkar would have an issue with that as it just sets in concrete for interested parties he wants to leave but we won't let him until we get what we want for him to be honest it looks and sound like an ingenious marketing ploy

Really hope he comes our way

Wait and see I suppose fingers and toes crossed

🤔.

3.) 27 Jan 2016 17:40:18
I know the president is trying to hold out for more money obviously, but there has to be a moment where 40 million Euros or whatever we offer is better than an unhappy player, I'm sure they could get a decent replacement for that money. I know he doesn't want to sell, and I hope if it doesn't go through, he doesn't give up trying for shaktar.
Even if we do end up paying more, for both parties they should try and resolve it quickly, even if it is a definite no.

{Ed002's Note - It is not about the money only.}

4.) 27 Jan 2016 17:45:39
I read earlier he has wether its true or not is a different matter.

Yh I watched this as well jus seems players really dnt have a say in wt they want if he really wants to cum to liverpool ten shakhtar surely need to make sum sort of compromise am sure they dnt want an unhappy player on there hands especially when there going for the title the president jus needs to stop being stubborn lol.

{Ed002's Note - They have known for months that he wants to move on.}

10.) 27 Jan 2016 17:40:27
Hi eds, with this video do you think he's just trying to engineer a move to the premiership no matter who with, can't blame him especially if he's trying to raise his profile and try to get in the Brazil squad for the world cup, I personally think it will piss his owners off and they'll hang on to him or increase the price even more to put all suitors off.

{Ed002's Note - No, he doesn't need to do that.}

11.) 27 Jan 2016 17:33:18
It's nice to see he's desperate to join us but it means nothing if we don't pay the asking price, inevitable disappointment awaits.

12.) 27 Jan 2016 21:20:31
Jesus I'm shocked to see this kind of interview to be honest. If a pool player did it you'd all be up in arms over it. You'd have to question his character to have the balls to do that kind of interview whilst still under contract with someone else.

13.) 27 Jan 2016 21:43:44
Anyone speak Portuguese? A lot of the time the subtitles are deliberately wrong to gain veiwers, not sure how reputable the site is?

14.) 27 Jan 2016 21:53:40
If anything you can't blame the guy for wanting out of Ukraine after all that has happened recently. There are things other than money these guys think about from time to time, family for one.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with that at all.}

15.) 27 Jan 2016 22:02:01
Fully agreee with irishkopite.
T'm kinda shocked watching this. can only imagine a liverpool player doing something like this i would be infuriated. Ofcourse its nice to see players wanting to join the club and its fine to let your manager and president know, but There should be a line, no need to come out publicly and question your team who've given you so much and are paying your salary. after all you are still an employee and under contract.

16.) 28 Jan 2016 01:21:20
I don't think we should pay the high price for Teixera, we would better spending our money on Mahrez next season and trying to sort out our midfield, Xhaka and Gundogan would be great additions with Grujic, Hendo and Can . we have enough strikers when all fit with Ings, Origi, Studge and even Firmino.

Hi Eds,

Tried searching for this but couldn't really find a recent post (and wasn't too sure what to search for), so if you're feeling nice could you give us an update on what players we are interested in for the Winter transfer?

Kopchu.

{Ed002's Note - Scouts are continuing to look at players but I cannot say if anything significant will happen in January - as clubs are typically not keen on selling.

Dortmund would be open to letting Subotic leave so I don't think that would compromise the promise made by Klipperty - and it would not be out of the question to see Liverpool look to him.

Patricio has been looked at before and has been looked at again (on more than one occasion this season) - it does't mean there is particular interest but they are keeping him in mind.

El Ghazi has been watched by Liverpool and a whole bunch of other clubs. Sane is similar to El Ghazi - a lot of clubs have been looking at him, including Liverpool.

Liverpool are one of the clubs who have enquired after Birmingham's Demarai Gray - albeit before Klipperty arrived.

Liverpool had scouts at a Porto match (against Maccabi Tel Aviv), I don't know who they were looking at as several Porto players are attracting attention (Martins Indi, Brahimi and Neves). It issms unlikely that any of these will be moving to Liverpool in January.

PSGs Lamine Ba has been of interest to Liverpool but he would be an unlikely addition to the first team squad.

Liverpool, along with Stoke and in Particular Bournemouth, are looking at Leeds' Lewis Cook, and additionally Liverpool has maintained their interest in Sam Byram. Another left back looked at is Lorient's Raphael Guerreiro.

I suspect a lot of what will happen going forward will be dependent on sales as well.}

1.) 30 Nov 2015 18:10:16
I was under the impression klopp had come out and said that there was no agreement/promise made that he wouldn't buy players from b. d? Unless I read it wrong? Cheers eds.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp said there was no agreement between the clubs - and there was never any suggestion that there was. Previously he said he would not return to Dortmund for players.}

2.) 30 Nov 2015 19:13:46
Hi eds

Have liverpool looked at Byram as a left back? Having watched him over the last couple of years I can't remember him ever playing there. As far as I am aware, and correct me if I am wrong, he has been used at right back and as a right winger.

{Ed002's Note - suspect as a left back.}

3.) 30 Nov 2015 19:58:18
Thanks eds.

4.) 30 Nov 2015 23:13:43
I think byram's contract runs out at end of the season.

5.) 30 Nov 2015 23:09:38
Ed2, pretty please.

If purchases are going to be likely dependant on sales - who do you see the club looking to off load?

Big ta in advance.

Rob.

{Ed002's Note - The club need to balance the books like other clubs do each season. This year we see yet again that Liverpool is top of the tree for spending money on "agents", they have also unloaded a management team and spent a great deal of money on new players. Folks have gone on on loan - some on a sale to buy - and that may fee up some little funds for January (albeit the money won't come until post May. It is hard to see significant sales before the summer. As I have said before, the right player at the right price and something can be done for January - but at best it will impact next season. As for Reus, Hummels, Pato, Xhaki, Gundogan and ter Stegen - it is a tough call to see these folks arriving in January. There are some decent players out there that the club may want to start building a summer plan on - but clubs are never keen on January sales - so it really is hard to call Rob. Obviously a decent offer (perhaps £3M or so) for Enrique could see him move on.}

6.) 01 Dec 2015 10:01:41
Cheers for that Ed!

I won't ask about Reus, Hummels, Pato, Xhaki, Gundogan and ter Stegen - but it's a nice thought!

Four of those would strengthen our squad for sure, but look at Reus as a prime example - who would we unload to bring him in?

Benteke - I would be surprised if we recouped the money we spent on Lewandowski Lite.
Sturridge - maybe, I suppose.
Ings - "a shrewd buy", young player for the future, doubtful to leave.
Origi - wouldn't be enough to balance the books
Firmino - come on.
Couthino - really? Really?
Lallana - hmmmm, has looked solid-ish so far since Klopp has arrived.

There are other MF players but with Reus' attacking nature these are the only players I would have thought he could
"replace" as a player in a similar mould.

You could make similar comparisons for some of the other players - although I would have thought that a keeper must now be priority. I like Migs, but he worries me.

I guess it all comes down to the owners' appetite to spend. Considering what they have already spent, albeit partly through some selling of players, I would not say it's inconceivable that they shell out again (although if the money is there, now is arguably the time with FFP being relaxed) but it is surely improbable. Just my speculative perception as a fan from the sidelines.

With the exception of a few positions that undoubtedly need strengthening Klopp has got our squad playing pretty well; there's a lot of promise so why mess with what's working?

Cheers again Ed.

7.) 01 Dec 2015 02:48:34
If offered, I'd grab that £3M for Enrique and head for the hills.

8.) 01 Dec 2015 22:05:06
Ed. funds won't arrive in May. Pretty much every transfer is spent over years. Liverpool still receiving money for the Suarez deal.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you mean - Liverpool have sent players on loan to buy deals with the funds due at the end of the season - they are relying on that money to balance the books.}

If you could choose any player to replace Fabs (feasible or not), who would you choose?

Honestly Llorente is a good shout, otherwise TAA in midfield alternating and switching with Cancelo at RB might work too. Kimmich might be a tad slow for the EPL? Just thinking a DM with experience at RB is the way to go.

kopchu

1.) 20 Jul 2023 07:47:33
Personally I think we should look for players with high potential that comes with reasonable cost. Perhaps players like Florentino Luis and Lavia would be good shout.

2.) 20 Jul 2023 10:05:11
Youssouf Fofana for me.

{Ed002's Note - About zero chance of that.}

3.) 20 Jul 2023 22:50:20
Rice was the one.

Just put on the sightings tab Eds, wondering if you could kindly not upload onto the site in case I get into trouble for it.

kopchu

{Ed033's Note - Some of you may remember that yesterday, kopchu posted the below text and said they would upload a 'picture of the "family member's" invitation to one of the Eds for them to confirm?'

'Bumped into a few very influential family members of Qatar last week in Europe, "waiting for paperwork to be submitted" is all they could tell me. So no clue if the deal will be accepted or materialise but at least there is progress and enthusiasm from their part. I did throw in the obvious "we need Bellingham" quote to them, dibs on a stand named after me if both of these do end up happening!'

My take on the uploaded picture:
So, the picture is of part of a table, which shows a single table setting at what looks like an ordinary Indian Restaurant that has some flowers, ordinary glasses, ordinary cutlery and a hard-backed menu where the plate would be.

On the hard-backed menu [which looks exactly what you might see in an Indian Restaurant], it looks to me that someone has found a fancy font and photoshopped? 'Royal Highness [name of alleged Qatar family member, which i can't make out]' on top of the menu.

To me, even if you ignore the 'ordinariness' of the table setting, there is a fundamental error of the photoshopped? title on the menu. In Qatar, i think the top 'royalty' are not titled as Royal Highness, but either, His Highness or Her Highness, which would likely mean, the '"family member's" invitation' is photoshopped?

1.) 07 Feb 2023 09:47:01
I’m choosing to believe Kopchu on this one.

No other reason than it would be a sad indictment on the world if someone came on here and not only lied about a dinner with the Qatari royal family but then went to the trouble of photoshopping a picture and sending it in to the Eds to prove the lie!

Nobody knows who Kopchu is so what would he possibly get from it?

If this is a lie then stop the world I want to get off.

2.) 07 Feb 2023 10:05:01
Busted!

3.) 07 Feb 2023 10:09:01
I mean fair play for the rumour effort at the least. If I were to completely guess I would imagine Kopchu got sent this by another friend and believes them and passed it off as their own a bit to add to the rumour.

If it is true also wild and fair play. But I think regardless there should be some applause for either A) actually having a legit rumour or
B) going to the effort to have a detailed good old fashioned rumour.

4.) 07 Feb 2023 09:41:09
I thought it was perfectly legitimate Ed, I'm quite looking forward to the coronation of the Duke and Duchess of Doha. Although I was disappointed to miss out on an MQE in the New Years Honours.

{Ed033's Note - Yes, would of been nice to be awarded as a 'Member of the Qatari Empire'.

5.) 07 Feb 2023 10:29:37
Fair play to the Eds for protecting kopchu's identity. These Indian restaurant owners are basically mafia.

6.) 07 Feb 2023 11:17:50
Haha brilliant.

7.) 07 Feb 2023 11:31:43
I enjoyed that rumour! A proper old-school one. We don't see many like those on the site anymore.

8.) 07 Feb 2023 13:21:20
Ed33 is quite literally the last person I would try to pull one over on lol.

9.) 07 Feb 2023 19:44:23
More importantly, was the food ordinary in the ordinary restaurant?

Did anyone watch the recent video that Liverpool put on Youtube about Keita's first day behind-the-scenes? They were in the team changing room and each locker had the name and number of the player inscribed but the plaque above 15 was empty. Make of that what you will. Maybe it's because he went on loan last season?

In other news great to see Ox greeting Naby in that video, he's really grown on me as a player and person since he joined!

Bye Danny, thanks for the memories.

2.) 29 Jun 2018 20:35:22
Polecat, that was funny. IMO, not much one can deduce from what the OP said, tho.

3.) 29 Jun 2018 20:59:57
We really missed the ox in the final.

4.) 29 Jun 2018 21:44:34
What I also found interesting was he was given the locker which should have been no 17 ( klavan) but there was no name and number on the locker. Perhaps Klavan is leaving?

5.) 29 Jun 2018 22:21:58
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Klaven leaves this summer, I believe his contract is up next year.

Sturridge I can't see leaving, it sounds like we're asking too much for him, who would take the risk? let's be honest, any club to do so would be daft. I see him seeing out his contract unless we lower the asking price.

6.) 30 Jun 2018 00:26:56
For me is ok if sturridge stay when fit he will score.

7.) 30 Jun 2018 01:37:08
Klavans Ill at the moment. I'm unsure how serious but his national team released him from duty and the manager said he needs to go and focus on getting through this illness.

05 Jun 2018 16:37:27
Now that Fred has signed for Man U, it would be interesting to see how our and their new Brazilian midfielders progresses in the BPL this season.
Knowing the media, they'll be constantly bringing up 'stat comparisons' between Fabinho and Fred and saying who's been the better purchase. Question for the reds, who do you think will adapt to the league better this season or overall?
Personally I haven't seen much of Fred (or Fabinho tbh), but his style of play (a la Yaya Toure) probably appeals to the press and the highlight reels more compared to Fabinho (a la Fernandinho) . I think even if Fabinho plays well his contributions to the team will be more subtle, allowing Keita and potentially Fekir to destroy teams further upfield!
Can't wait for the next season, got really good feelings about this one! Hope our transfers all come off!

1.) 05 Jun 2018 16:51:22
Why

Couldn’t care less about any other teams players ours are the only ones that count.

2.) 05 Jun 2018 17:36:56
They are different players, Fred should score more really - but we didn't buy Fabinho for goals, unless it's from the spot.

3.) 05 Jun 2018 18:39:53
They might as well sign Fred West for all I care. Mourinho will turn him into a left back or a defensive midfielder.

4.) 05 Jun 2018 18:44:27
Spot on, Jonesred. I have never cared who other teams signed as it does not impact the way we prepare for our season in any way, shape or form.

5.) 05 Jun 2018 21:30:08
Well we have to worry about other teams players, as we do play other teams.

Hi Ed,

Sorry completely mistook your interpretation I thought you meant there are currently a few out of favour players that are worth considering looking at but haven't by the club, but now I realise you mean that there aren't good strikers available on the market at a decent price. Sorry for that!
