If the owners, or whoever is in charge of scouting etc was a formula 1 team they would give Jurgen a porche to drive while everyone else has a f1 car. Realistically we can't keep up without real quality being added to the First team.

kopklop

{Ed002's Note - Klopp got the players he wanted in the summer and the team was doing well - but in his system which was never going to be sustainable. It is embarrassing reading all of this nonsense trying to put the blame elsewhere.}

1.) 08 Feb 2017 09:58:45
were u blaming the owners when we were 2nd in the league?

klopp has to make it right, if he is to prove that he is a world class manager. bt i don't get why suddenly its the owners fault?

2.) 08 Feb 2017 10:15:53
Ed02, I would love to hear a podcast with you and Ed01 debating Klopp. Not an argument and not pinning you two against each other, but it would be really interesting to hear you two discuss the matter. Is there any possibility of that occurring?

{Ed002's Note - No, sorry. My podcasts are done as and when I have time - and my time is difficult to schedule.}

3.) 08 Feb 2017 10:35:12
Kopklop partially has it right though. I for one am massively against spending stupid amounts of money per transfer window but to compete it HAS to be done these days. We need to add top quality like city, Utd and Chelsea have done they're not afraid to spend and it brings them success in return.

Flip side to the coin I do agree, if we can play like we did the first half of the season then it should be the same the second and it's proving not to be. Klopp needs to change things quickly and I believe he will.

4.) 08 Feb 2017 10:36:59
It's not the owners fault one bit, I'm sure the funds were available if klopp wanted them and panic bought (then some would be moaning he's bought rubbish and over spent. )
It's not because he's a poor manager or ignorant to learn. it's his first full season playing his style of football in England, he's made mistakes and I'm sure he's learned a great deal from it. He didn't know we wouldn't be able to sustain our high pressing game as it worked so well with BVB (in a different league) but I'm sure he knows what needs to be done and now can't wait to finish this season (as strong as possible with the personnel we have) then re group in the summer with his staff and address the situation and make the necessary signings.
He is in uncharted territory, it's a new situation to him, even this summer window is totally different from last, he didn't know his players then like he does now, he gave them time to show what they could do. Some have impressed some have disappointed no doubt. He's no fool, I'm sure he knows what he needs to do so let's stop bleating and AT LEAST give it until this time next season before the moaning starts. Hopefully any money he hasn't wasted in January can be added to the summer spending. But Klopp is the right man to take us forward!

5.) 08 Feb 2017 11:21:17
I think we needed to add some quality to the squad to continue with the great football AND the intensity we play with. Yes players should be fit enough to play two games a week but the levels of intensity in training and matches we needed a couple of high quality players. Even gerrard said hed never experienced a training session like it after joining in a session since starting at the academy.

6.) 08 Feb 2017 11:52:55
Klopp wanted a winger and the owners paid a premium for one, he wanted a midfielder and the owners paid a premium for one. He wanted a CB and the owners got the one he wanted for a great deal. He wanted a GK and the owners got the one he wanted.

The only transfer failure was at LB but it's difficult to argue that the owners did a bad job achieving 4 out 5 targets especially with Milner's successful conversion to LB.

7.) 08 Feb 2017 14:12:38
I don't know if some on here need hearing aids. Klopp said repeatedly that this is his team, his squad, and the one he wanted. Therefore, where the owners are getting the blame for anything, I will never know. Where you all slating them when we were top or 2nd in the PL? NO! Now that we are struggling and it seems many on here cos they are reluctant to slate Klopp, who is the easy target? FSG, of course. Why? Cos they can't defend themselves so they pile on them which is nothing but cowardice. If you have a prob with the way the squad was built, look to no one but Klopp. And if you don't want to criticize him for reasons X or Y, then don't BUT leave the owners alone cos they are not to blame here.

8.) 08 Feb 2017 14:25:18
True Putney your not wrong there mate.

9.) 08 Feb 2017 18:43:48
Blaming fsg is like blaming your boss for your own poor performance at work.

10.) 08 Feb 2017 19:37:48
People can't eat the fact Klopp has been found out and has done very little to work on his system and tactics. So they need a scapegoat to shed the blames. Hence Owners. The easiest way.

Will mane make it back for Tuesday against Chelsea?

kopklop

1.) 28 Jan 2017 22:10:17
He looked absolutely distraught after missing the penalty that sent Senegal out of the Tournament. Even if he's back. I doubt he'll take any part on Tuesday.
Hope I'm wrong though.

2.) 28 Jan 2017 22:58:51
No chance is he playing Tuesday, unfortunately.

3.) 29 Jan 2017 11:46:43
Liverpoollfc16 - there is plenty of chance of him at least making the bench Tuesday

Liver_La - you don't get time off because you're not happy with your performance in a previous match.

Ok reds it's time. The honeymoon period is over time to get real and get the points on the board again. Let's get behind the team and make them feel invincible. If your lucky enough to get to a game, roar your head of and let them know that YNWA.

Would love mahrez on the right and mane on the left firmino through the middle. i think klopp could get mahrez playing some stuff. But klopp will have his own ideas lol. Hope we ojo gets a run from the bench to get a look at him when fit. I'm fearful going forward without coutinho atm.

kopklop

1.) 06 Dec 2016 15:49:43
Getting Mahrez would be a dream, even though I have no idea if Mane would be just as effective on the left. But getting Mahrez would go a long way in ensuring our continuity in the face of injuries or departures (Coutinho, Firmino, Sturridge) .

2.) 06 Dec 2016 15:50:16
Despite the fact that in the 3.5 games we've played without Coutinho we've scored 2, 2 and 3? Despite not having Sturridge or Lallana either?

3.) 06 Dec 2016 15:55:46
Couts` absence did not stop us from scoring 7 goals in three games so I`m not too worried about that, overall. What I`m worried about is the meltdown that could happen again if we start taking our foot of the gas during games, thinking they have been won already.

4.) 06 Dec 2016 16:03:56
I agree with you Hamilton and Hjikle. We're doing absolutely fine in the attack department without Coutinho. We haven't missed him that much. But I have an eye (perhaps prematurely) on Europe next year, and a deep bench never hurt any team. But at the same time, I would prefer to solve the CB issue first (we are one good CB short regardless of whether it's team or individual breakdowns) . If given a choice between taking Mahrez or a good enough CB, I'd take the CB hands down.

5.) 06 Dec 2016 16:07:41
Mahrez and Mane on either side of any striker would be excellent. Coutinho dropping into the middle pulling strings just like David Silva with Henderson and one CM holding the line that's more like a complete package. It would mean our CM need not go high up the pitch.
Mahrez posses everything and is woirkhorse of the ball. Perfect klopp player.

6.) 06 Dec 2016 16:27:14
I would love Mahrez as well as he is just quality and with Klopp coaching him, he will only get better. But firstly, we do need a more than capable and experienced CB to play alongside Matip, one who can hold his own and a calming influence if he has to be paired with another CB.

7.) 06 Dec 2016 23:07:39
Mahrez's form has dipped a fair bit so there is a risk involved, but if Coutinho makes an effort to push for a move in the summer then personally I would do everything to get the biggest possible fee, and try to use most or all of that money on a major push to sign Mahrez, with the strong likelihood of him nailing down a starting place- plus playing CL football- as an extra incentive.
There are few if any players who could replace coutinho, but the quality and the threat offered by Mahrez would go a long way to making up for phil's loss.

8.) 07 Dec 2016 03:10:06
Whilst we might lack a bit of genius creativity or 'something out of nothing' without coutinho we still score goals and plenty of them without him. I think we would be in danger if 2-3 of them started getting injured then we should be worried but right now, lallana back and everyone else is fit apart from coutinho and studge who wasn't even playing anyway. Even last season our problem wasn't in attack, it was defence, goalkeeper and midfield to an extent. So my main concern is the defensive side to our game, not so much personnel but how exposed we are at the back. It obviously has something to do with our system going forward, but the midfield have to do better at stopping a lot of the attacks at the root and the defence and goalkeeper have to deal with them a lot better. I don't think we are well drilled defensively, especially dealing with crosses in open play or set pieces. This has been a problem before Klopp and still to this day. I hope we improve this, because if we do I think we will win the league, even with high level competition.

If we keep possession against palace we should have enough to break them down. Just be patient and clinical when needed. Come on the reds YNWA.

Well said 87 red. Nothing hurts me more than us lfc getting beat. But we have the chance to back one off the best management teams in football, all these people on here so called fans. Well how the f. k have you got time to enjoy a live chat during a game is beyond me. A real fan would be watching every second like it was his last, yes talk about it even scream at the TV or from the stands, but after the game is time to put your point across. Remember doubters to BELIEVERS. IN THE NORMAL ONE WE TRUST.
