Hi eds
Just wanted to ask with regards to Allan who's on loan at Hertha, under what circumstances would he get a work permit and be eligible to play for us. Bit of a confusing area so just wondering you could list the possible circumstances
Cheers and keep up the good work
Ksbhogal.

{Ed002's Note - He does not meet the work permit requirements so Liverpool would need to request a hearing to make a case for him as a "special talent" and they know that after lying to the committee last year about another player their brownie points will be used up. Hertha Berlin would loike to have him continue on loan and I suspect that is what will happen. Right now Liverpool is not well structured for looking after such players - something I would hope that they can address – but the addition of Grujic makes Allan’s long-term future as a Liverpool player in doubt.}

1.) 15 May 2017 21:43:28
Cheers ed2, does playing in European competitions help his case or just international appearances count?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

2.) 16 May 2017 03:32:57
Do you expect Grujic to kick on next season?

For me He needs to work on his core strength to build up the stamina for a premiership season.

Not just him though, all the other younger lads coming through will need the same as they appear very light

Bar Origi. he seems to be physically there but maybe his confidence needs a boost.

{Ed001's Note - stamina and strength is very rarely there at a young age, it is very easily developed, but it takes time. I don't see it as a problem.}

3.) 16 May 2017 13:59:09
What does Allan's future have to do with Grujic Ed002? They are both midfielders but that's the only thing they have in common. Two completely different type of players, its not a case of one or the other. Allan's direct competition at LFC will be Henderson and Chirivella.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot keep adding midfield players to the squad without removing some. Allan likely has no future at Liverpool in any case. Try not to be an idiot about this.}

4.) 16 May 2017 14:33:25
IB, it is the work permit they have in common. Liverpool got a workpermit for Grujic due to promised playtime, a promise that wasnt kept.
Which obviously makes it hard to try and make the same promise again to get a work permit for Allan.

ED's please correct me if im wrong but this is how i understood things.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool know that a "special talent" nwork permit will be much harder to get after lying last time, yes. Add to that Allan will not be homegrown now and his chances diminesh.}

5.) 16 May 2017 15:19:35
Is it ability the reason behind you seeing no future for Allan or more circumstances around the permit? Surely if its ability there's no rush to judge, a young lad who's had appearances in a top league and would have played a lot more but for the u20 championships with Brazil.

{Ed002's Note - He does not qualify for a work permit. He is not home grown. I am not sure why I need say the same things over and over.}

6.) 16 May 2017 15:41:42
Hi Eds,

Knowing nothing about the subject myself, how should Liverpool be structured to handle these kinds of players. This is surely not a unique situation for Liverpool but for all clubs. A club as the size of Liverpool should have grasped this by now? Lack of future planning? and are they being addressed?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but they are not.}

7.) 16 May 2017 17:46:21
With Stewart and Lucas due to leave this summer or next, and no one knowing how Henderson will be managed in the future would there not be space for him if he has a super season next year and gets his permit? think he looks a player.

{Ed002's Note - I can't see him getting in to the Brazil squad.}

8.) 16 May 2017 21:58:38
Would becoming a starter for Hertha and playing maybe 30-40 games for a team in a top league with European football at the age of 20 not be enough? Or does he HAVE to get into the Brazil squad?

{Ed002's Note - He does not meet the criteria for a work permit - you are clutching at straws.}

01 Feb 2014 15:26:02
Ed's do you think FSG are looking to sell LFC anytime soon, or are they here for the long run?
Please post

ksbhogal

{Ed001's Note - I expect them to be here for the long run.}

Hi Eds. just wanted to ask if there is any news on the search for a new MD, because Ian Ayre is obviously not the greatest MD in Football, is there any correlation between us and that Nicola Cortese might be leaving Southampton in the summer?
Cheers

{Ed001's Note - nope and nope.}

Hi Ed’s, is it true that the PL teams have agreed to give some money back to the broadcasters due to C.V.? If so why? The broadcasters are still getting the games etc.

ksbhogal

{Ed002's Note - The agreement is for £330M to be paid back with Liverpool owing £25M. Why is because of lost revenue. One club has tried to negotiate the total fee down using future promises but another side has objected to it.}

1.) 28 Jun 2020 14:19:55
ed002 I don't get why the clubs need to pay back £330m when they are showing more games than they would before the virus nearly every league game shown live now. Sky and bt sports stopped charging when there was no sport on, But the fee went straight back on as soon as the football started. And I bet more people have signed up to ed to watch it as there is nothing on normal tv at the minute apart from repeats.

{Ed002's Note - They are setting up broadcast facilities at all grounds for all games, there are games that are free to air and they had to extend staff and contractor contracts. All international broadcasters have similar problems with the contracts not being met. Most of the payment will be deferred until the end of next season if clubs wish. It would have been a lot less if concessions for future rights had been agreed.}

2.) 28 Jun 2020 17:11:43
ed002 I get the they had to extend staff and contractor contracts but that's not £330m and they have broadcast facilities at all grounds for all games any way, As every game is live somewhere and if you stream a game from abroad when you see the sky sports highlights 9 times out off 10 its the same commentary. So the league is fulfilling the fixtures list at great cost to each club. so did the clubs have any options to fight this ed and if so am surprised they did not do it as a whole.

{Ed002's Note - They don’t have broadcast facilities at all grounds. I never suggested the staffing costs would be £330M. You are discounting the overseas costs. Yes - I explained that in the post.}

Hi eds, with Salah undergoing a medical I was wondering if you knew what kind of things players have to do during the medical, and what kind of tests are done?
Cheers

Ksbhogal.

{Ed025's Note - we are not doctors mate..only psychiatrists.. :)

1.) 22 Jun 2017 12:10:14
So where's the psychiatric facility and how can I get admitted there? 😂.

{Ed001's Note - you are well beyond help mate.}

2.) 22 Jun 2017 12:14:36
Reckon we'll all need therapy before the Summer's over!

3.) 22 Jun 2017 12:30:22
I reckon the poor Eds will need their own psychiatric assistance by the time this window is coming to an end. I predict nights interrupted by waking up in shivers from repeated question nightmares to begin with.

{Ed025's Note - thats everyday for us reynard..

4.) 22 Jun 2017 12:57:40
Can Imagine the facility patients going mad shaking in their chairs whispering "But they said it was a done deal" Haha.

23 May 2017 17:45:08
Hi eds hope you are well. Do you see FSG investing heavily in the squad this summer, and also do you think they will look to bring in another investor and sell some of their shares and get some return on their investment?
Cheers and keep up the good work
Ksbhogal.

ksbhogal

{Ed002's Note - They will make whatever money is needed available - given the additional income from television. So you don't need to worry about the money. I am not aware of any investor wanting to put money in to part of the club at this time.}

1.) 23 May 2017 22:16:49
You say any investor has no interest in investing into part of the club am I reading to much into it ed but would that mean that someone would be interested in buying all the club cheers eds sorry if it's a stupid question.

{Ed002's Note - There are no secret messages.}

2.) 24 May 2017 05:28:28
You say that Ed but all I can read is an anagram for "three secret sages see Moreno"

3.) 24 May 2017 09:51:26
fair play zimbo that is actually very impressive even robbing the extra e needed from ed002!

Hi Eds, Happy New Year. Are LFC are looking to do any business this month, because we desperately need a GK
Cheers

ksbhogal

{Ed002's Note - Please read the posts. I am not getting into gossip for the other bit of the post which I cut, but I can assure you that the goat was fine.}

1.) 08 Jan 2015 18:33:17
Valdes has just signed a contract at OT - so their reserve keeper Lindegard maybe up for grabs.

10 Dec 2014 22:35:57
Hi Eds. do you think Brendan's days are numbered? And do you think FSG are rethinking the whole transfer committee idea, as well as Ian Ayres role in it all, and the fact we haven't got a strong experienced CEO?
cheers
KSBHOGAL

ksbhogal

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed - it is as I have explained it over and over again.}

Think it’s being reported FSG May go out and buy other smaller teams with the reported money, and now would be a great time as a lot of clubs are struggling, you’d pay knockdown prices to invest.

Am I not right in saying Southampton have a history of doing this to clubs. They did it with Clyne, and alderweireld. As well as that every paper has printed both Pep and Conte have spoken to VVD, so I think it's all a load of bs just to get more money, some even saying trying to force VVD to City because they are paying more.
I trust Macca when he says it's done as well as others who seem to have decent knowledge. Big up all the eds btw.

Ive said it on numerous occasions, that FSG are all about the money. I remember asking the eds if Klopp would get the full backing, to which u replied yes. There is no point agreeing to pay a transfer fee when you won't pay the wages, and to keep leaking it to the Liverpool Echo that we are going to spend X amount. Give it a rest FSG and stop trying to make a fool out of us fans.
