Goodbye wee Joe Allen!

It was great fun having the Welsh Pirlo/ Xavi around.

Agreed goodbye and good luck, have to say we are getting good money for our squad players this year.

Good luck to him. Very nice guy and had some very good games for us.

Hi Ed001, first time poster here. Even on my side of the planet, there is a growing concern at the kind of football Liverpool have been playing plus the player selections. With FSG giving BR a new contract just last year, they would be reluctant to sack him, I'm sure.

But given the rising hysteria over the dire performances, rumours abound over BR getting the sack sooner rather than later. Do you see this happening or as you have suggested, FSG are willing to wait for the summer to get a proper replacement rather than a temp?

{Ed001's Note - they would prefer to wait, no point just sacking him for the sake of it. Though personally I disagree, a caretaker would at least give the team a lift for a few games.}

Has he agreed to go to Barca in 2016? Saw that on another forum.

Just a hypothetical question related to Rafa, do you think he or Gerard Houllier would be a suitable fit for DoF?

melwood

{Ed001's Note - no. Both would want to meddle in everything.}

I live on the other side of the world in Malaysia. Due to the £ being so expensive, it takes us several years of saving up to buy the plane ticket, get accommodations and of course the match day ticket. So about ten years ago, I did just that. Saved for four years, booked my flight and hostel, was told by the ticketing agent here that their man would be waiting for me in front of the ticket office. So after supporting the club since 1977, I finally make it to Liverpool.

Even made a slow walk from the Royal Albert Dock uphill all the way to Anfield. I remember feeling very sad as I passed so many boarded up homes. Finally, I round a corner and I see the Kop rising in the distance. So with a spring in my step, I find my way to the ticket office, find the guy waiting for me. He passes me a ticket and I give him £120 (once in a lifetime, right? ) Did mention it's Liverpool vs Man United?

My ticket, which sits right where I am writing this says - Paddock Enclosure - Block PKS - Row F Seat 0112. And the Turnstile is W 1-4. So I get there and go in, and guess what? It's a used ticket and I'm asked to explain where I got it from by some lads in uniforms. As someone who is quite handy with numbers and can do pretty complex calculations in his head, I just couldn't process how much I had put into this adventure. Oh well, had a nice chat with the guys selling scarves out front and there's always the Beatles Museum! LoL!

Best you keep your ability a secret MK. You might get a knock on the door one day from Her Majesty's Secret Service, The next fantasy game you play might have Kim Jong Un as the only choice for midfield!

Fully agree with the OP. Anyone here remember when Suarez was signed or worse, when he was suggested as the replacement for Torres? 'Another rubbish signing from a weak league when we should be signing Aguero' 'Anyone can look good in the Dutch league, even my nan and she's been dead for ten years! ' are just a few I remember off the top of my head.

Nevermind AOC, the level of negative hysteria for all the players beggars belief. A new player comes into the fold; he needs to settle into the group, settle into his neighbourhood, maybe settle the family as well. "He's on obscene wages mate! " Yes "Can't we have an opinion that he's shit" Of course. But until a few shabby games to justify criticism, perhaps we should all start justifying why Ed02 mocks us for 'The Liverpool Way'?

There's no need for different tactics or formations Max Renn. All that is required to break down a stubborn side is movement both of the ball and the players themselves. Right now our transition takes too long, defences have time to reset themselves. Adding Salah alongside Mane will mean that there is always that chance of bursting past the first defender and forcing another defender to cover. That's the space we need to operate in. And although it's a big IF, do note Sturridge is now beginning to sprint as he did when Suarez was around. I'm confident we'll see a more dynamic side this season if the first teamers stay fit.
