Hi Ed's

Just wondering is there still sustained interest in Manè from clubs in Europe who he would seriously consider moving to at the moment? I'm not suggesting anything but you did say previously that there was some interest in the past .

savvyxone

{Ed002's Note - No, Atletico got someone else in.}

1.) 14 Jul 2018 20:02:43
Thanks Ed.

2.) 15 Jul 2018 01:07:42
Is that Gelson Martins?

{Ed002's Note - Thomas Lemar.}

13 Jan 2018 00:49:19
Hi Ed's

Quick question I don't think anyone has asked recently especially with all the drama over the last couple of days.

Is there any serious interest in outgoings so far this month as surely with 2 just arriving
( including Kieta and VVD) and a possible 1 more to come before the end of the window? I realise some fringe players have gone on loan for experience etc but is there anyone who already has that and needs to move on for their own careers and so on.

Thanks guys I know your head's must be wrecked from all the other stuff.

savvyxone

{Ed001's Note - yes, Can might well be going, Sturridge, Ings are also possibilities off the top of my head. A few of the youngsters could do with loan moves as well.}

1.) 13 Jan 2018 04:17:36
Is Can going on a 'free' (pre-contract) as we all thought or is he going to be sold?

I hope at least one of Sturridge and Ings moves either permanently or on loan because they need to get their careers back on track. Think it's best for both the club and the player.

{Ed001's Note - really depends on the offers received and who we sign. LFC would have preferred to replace him and then sold him to get some money for a player that no longer wants to be here.}

2.) 13 Jan 2018 04:25:12
Ah right, thanks ed, much appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

3.) 13 Jan 2018 07:29:08
Markovic permanently and Grujic on loan too I would think. Kent has already left on loan and Brannagan permanently.

4.) 13 Jan 2018 07:18:29
Ed don't you think it's a shame it came to this with Can? Where do you think it went wrong?

{Ed001's Note - Klopp does not see him as a first choice central midfielder in the long term, it is as simple as that.}

5.) 13 Jan 2018 08:46:20
I like Can but can see how Klopp would want someone a bit more mobile and who moves the ball quicker. Shame but I'm sure he'll do well elsewhere.

6.) 13 Jan 2018 11:06:13
Ed the rhetoric in the media is that we are fighting tooth and nail to keep him, but the reality is that we aren't overly fussed?

{Ed001's Note - Klopp would like him to stay but he is not losing sleep over him going, no.}

7.) 13 Jan 2018 11:51:30
Thanks Ed, think there was a tad of confusion when Macca said klopp doesn't rate Can!

{Ed001's Note - no confusion, he is not in Klopp's long term plans.}

8.) 13 Jan 2018 12:02:51
Wouldn't that be a risk though, yes we have ings and solanke but neither are pulling up trees and we would be stuck if one or more of our three remaining first team attackers were injured. This is of course moot if that top top player signs this window but i believe it when i see it as they say.

9.) 13 Jan 2018 12:17:03
Sorry Ed I didn't mean confusion for everyone, just myself.

{Ed001's Note - got you sorry.}

02 Jan 2018 12:00:13
Expect Max Meyer to be announced as a Liverpool player, no idea of a timeframe yet but it will be announced before end of window. That's what I have just been told.

Very reliable source.

If it happens I personally would be delighted as he is an excellent player.

savvyxone

1.) 02 Jan 2018 12:26:16
He is a good player but i don't see where he fits in the team.

2.) 02 Jan 2018 12:34:46
Literally only yesterday Ed002 informed us that our interest in Meyer was seemingly completely gone for now.

I know he said "for now" but I'd be amazed if in less than 24 hours we've gone from not even being in talks with Schalke to an announcement being made.

Seems unlikely to me. If your source gets it right, fair play. Ed002 is rarely wrong, so i remain a skeptic. I think Meyer will sign a pre-contract with Spurs to be honest.

3.) 02 Jan 2018 12:38:44
He's a right footed attacking midfielder who can play anywhere across the middle of the pitch. It would be unfair to compare him to any other footballer, but he could easily slit straight into let's say.

A similar role Couts has been doing so far this season.

4.) 02 Jan 2018 12:41:45
Fits in with the cryptic mascara clue, maybe "Max Factor"?

5.) 02 Jan 2018 12:41:57
and so it begins, after getting it so wrong about AOC, whoever comes in gets my support.

6.) 02 Jan 2018 12:44:04
Your source named him? Or a player from schalke?

Would seem more likely to be goretzka if it's a player from schalke given current reports.

7.) 02 Jan 2018 12:54:26
Ed002 said a few days back to forget about Max Meyer for now.

8.) 02 Jan 2018 13:18:04
Meyer is said to favour going to Spurs so I’d be surprised if he did come.

9.) 02 Jan 2018 13:19:40
I got slated in the past when I said that Suarez was coming, when everyone else said no.

Jordz to answer your question.
Source.

10.) 02 Jan 2018 13:20:40
I hardly doubt that Goretzka, if joining would be the replacement for Coutinho. As I see it, it would be Max Meyer for Coutinho and Goretzka for Can if he is to leave. Exciting times ahead.

11.) 02 Jan 2018 13:27:06
Thanks for reply savvy.

Agree Smed. Think that would be a decent. Two players with plenty of potential.

Meyer not at couts level yet, but feel goretzka would be an upgrade on can.

Time will tell.

12.) 02 Jan 2018 14:05:14
With all the links to their players to us it seems a bit like Schalke are the German Southampton. They must be doing well in their scouting department and academy to keep finding all these talents.

27 Dec 2017 18:48:13
Its almost official I just posted a pic on the sightings page of VVD in front of an xmas tree holding Liverpool shirt.

savvyxone

1.) 27 Dec 2017 19:10:05
It is offical! On LFC website had been confirmed!

2.) 27 Dec 2017 19:25:03
Welcome to LFC VVD. He will be a monster for us.

{Ed001's Note - I hope you are right RR.}

3.) 27 Dec 2017 19:44:53
Let's hope he plays to his potential had has a glorious career at lfc.

4.) 27 Dec 2017 19:57:55
Ed1, has this come as a shock to you, I know we’ve very obviously been after him but I noted something you’d written this morning of wishing everyone would get over the vvd crap. I am absolutely not having a pop, I’m just genuinely asking have the negotiations that have been going on been kept completely and firmly under wraps? Would make a nice change if so.

{Ed001's Note - I haven't been about remember so yes it did, I have no idea if I would have known if I was, so I can't comment on how well the club kept it under wraps sorry. It should have been very easy for them to keep quiet as VVD only wanted Liverpool, the deal was done with minimum fuss as we met the asking price, there was little real chance for it to come out. It is long drawn out negotiations that tend to be the ones that become open secrets. Done quickly and there is little time for anyone to find out and pass on the info.}

5.) 27 Dec 2017 20:14:25
Thanks mate, let’s hope he turns out to be worth every penny hey. Hope you’ve had a good Christmas and the family haven’t had you up the wall too much! Onwards and upwards and all the very best for 2018, at least you’re not going to have the VVD, saga all through January!

6.) 27 Dec 2017 22:40:11
I'm just glad city didn't sign another good player to sit on bench
Good luck to him a lot of pressure on him.

7.) 27 Dec 2017 22:43:11
Eds/ reds. Who out of our current CBs would you play along side VVD? Assuming he walks straight into the first team?

8.) 27 Dec 2017 22:47:24
with Matip.

9.) 27 Dec 2017 23:06:46
For me I would play Klavan, he has grown in stature and confidence this season, hasn't let us down, and if im not mistaken, he seems a lot fitter now. and faster. he's not your Alan Hansen type but I alwYs feel confident when he has the ball. and he's a good solid passer, no frills but solid.

10.) 27 Dec 2017 23:30:37
I think our best defence would be trent, gomez, VVD, robertson. But that said lacks some experience.

11.) 28 Dec 2017 02:15:18
Robertson and Trent no way good enough.
Even Moreno is better than Robertson, 8 out of 10 times, the 1 time being a Moreno howler day and the other day a Robertson MOM day.
And I think even Moreno is also not good enough.

TA may be a decent player, but full back he is not. Seen him play so many times and every time he disappoints. Way too stagnant without the ball. Never wanting the cabal back after passing, as if the “the ball is your court” kind of mentality.

Now, Gomez is decent, not withstanding the few glaring mistakes he has made so far, which you hope he will l art from. Else he will just be another Moreno.
If I have to rely on him, I will probably do. Otherwise, there should be better options.

My take is Lovren need sorting out as whip he has his mistake, he is quite simply the best among them when he doesn’t make those mistake.
That said, Matip might be a safer choice, not necessary being good enough.

12.) 28 Dec 2017 08:26:19
Yes but Lovren does make those mistakes and on a regular basis, Id like Gomez to be given the chance in the centre alongside VD, I do like Robertson and would keep TAA at right back for a few seasons so we don't have to buy another.

13.) 28 Dec 2017 09:03:44
There is a reason why Gomez starts ahead of TAA most of the time.
Gomez is a better defender.
I quite like him, as apart of his 2 silly mistakes (@ West Ham and Arsenal), he has improved. So will not begrudge him a shot at the position if it comes to be.

Again, there is a reason why Moreno starts ahead of Robertson. Didn't know this earlier of course, but as Robertson gets his chance now, it becomes much clearer.

There was not much of a debate when Finnan was the right back. That's the kind of full back we need.
On both sides.

As a stop gap or back up, I think TAA, Moreno, Robertson and even Clyne will do.
As a started, we need better.

14.) 28 Dec 2017 10:50:56
I think to write Trent off as back up or a stop gap is a little short sighted, the lad will keep learning and developing his defending and within a few years will be the player you think we need to buy. You have to bare in mind he spent much of his youth as a CM so to both transition to the first team and transition into a new position takes time. Got to let players make mistakes to get better.

15.) 28 Dec 2017 11:41:48
Oh, not writing TA off.
So many people speak so highly of him, and I would be Trimp to think that I am smarter than all.

But if I have to make a call, I am just saying he is no right back.
He may yet be a next SG, seeing how he rushing in to win the ball ahead of ayew and finish it with aplomb (and luck)

16.) 28 Dec 2017 12:37:10
When Stevie G first played for LFc he played as right back. Never his natural position but he learnt fast. Young lads need playing time to adjust. TAA has incredible skill, but is clearly destined to play midfield, dead ball goals, real energy, tackles and determination etc. I see a young Stevie G learning his trade here. We should nurture him, he is going to be a huge talent and player for LFC.

17.) 28 Dec 2017 13:10:55
Tel 1949 - I do not dare challenged you call to be honest. Not with TA anyway, since I wasn't too impressed with SG when he first started too (even if there are many who impressed immediately, like Owen, Macca, Hyypia, Torres, Suarez, Alonso and etc. )

Apart from Owen, SG and TA probably start much younger as compared to the cohorts named.

Oh, I am bit more positive about Woodburn though.

Hi eds

Is there any foundation in the rumour flying around that Benteke has agreed personal terms with Besiktas?

savvyxone

{Ed002's Note - Whilst Eris Kismet agreed a personal package with Besiktas after Crystal Palace stepped back and Juventus declared that they had no interest and asked him to stop bothering them about Benteke, Besiktas want a loan with an option of buying which might not suit Liverpool. Any agreement to buy him would need Liverpool to reduce the significant asking price considerably.}

1.) 07 Aug 2016 16:47:32
Thanks Ed002.

Prediction of the day
Ed's going in hiding regarding questions on Allison.

It's going to be a busy day

😱😱.

savvyxone

1.) 18 Jul 2018 11:58:34
It won't be the eds that just go into hiding.

The pessimist in me feels this is very similar to Fekir and VVD, twitter/ media causing a storm for it to be shown as false at the 11th hour.

Until either ed001 or 002 confirm it or there is a pic of Alisson doing the Anfield lean, I am staying away from the internet (except this site) as I give it an hour before someone is tracking a private jet landing in Liverpool.

13 Jul 2018 23:40:59
I love the positive reactions tonight regarding Shaqiri, makes a great read this evening. Massive turn around from all the negativity recently.

Give the guy a chance, he's signed a contract now and has to prove himself and if he's not up to the job he's only letting himself down at the end of the day. And if he turns out to be a success well then happy days for the fans the club and himself.

👍🏻.

savvyxone

1.) 14 Jul 2018 00:36:14
I know it's weird. The Ox, who's been a model professional and England player was ripped to pieces by many on here (not me, I was chuffed) but shaqiri comes here with a thoroughly clean butt.

I'm weirdly pleased by the signing though.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m disturbed by how you know shaqiri has a clean butt Hendo.

2.) 14 Jul 2018 01:20:53
I was sceptical and did not really want to sign him but now I'm kind of excited.

{Ed0333's Note - my sentiments exactly mate. It’s funny what a beaming smile and a lean will do to sceptics.

3.) 14 Jul 2018 03:22:05
It reminds me a little of when we signed the Ox last year. At the time no one was happy we were spending over 35mil on the guy, now look how that turned out. he was in the best form of his career. happy to give Shaq a chance, as he definitely has massive potential.

4.) 14 Jul 2018 10:03:49
Chewiescousin, Shaq is here now and will get my support. Ox's case was diff. cos his attitude and work ethic was never questioned or at least I did not question him on those fronts. I was only worried about what he would bring to the team in terms of his ability cos he was IMO, pants at Arsenal near the end. Shaq's case is that he has shown to have a dreadful attitude through out his career and in the Swiss team so the hope now is that he will improve on these fronts cos the guy has some ability, for sure. Here's to hoping.

New image uploaded to the
Liverpool Player Sightings page entitled, This explains a lot

savvyxone

1.) 08 Jul 2018 21:45:32
Ah, now I get it!

2.) 08 Jul 2018 21:53:05
Love it! Very well done.
Neymar is my most hated player atm. In a country that is still taking to football, this guy gives all the haters a reason to say "look! This game is as weak as p#ss they spend the whole game diving and rolling around" and it annoys the heck out of the lovers of the game that 1 of the better well known players acts like this.

3.) 09 Jul 2018 09:08:05
It's not just Australia, mate. So many people I know only watch the World Cup when it comes round and then when they watch Brazil and see Neymar doing what he does, they realise why they don't watch football the rest of the time. A man of his talents should be an ambassador for the good parts of the game, not the opposite.

4.) 09 Jul 2018 09:38:01
Agree Bardzo, it's bad enough watching players act like that to compensate for their lack of ability. To have someone with all the ability in the world do it anyway is just disgraceful.

5.) 09 Jul 2018 09:58:36
Spot on Bardzo.

13 Jan 2018 23:11:12
Hey guys

Just wondering how many of us will be singing the Salah song tomorrow, it's the best thing since sliced bread.

savvyxone

1.) 13 Jan 2018 23:54:53
It’s a great songs.

Be great to hear it after a goal or two tomorrow.

Heard anything re Meyer savvy? Sure you said you where told he’d sign this window. Heard anymore? Sure it’s not goretzka they are chasing rather than Meyer?

2.) 14 Jan 2018 00:36:48
Goretzka won't happen in my own opinion, in regards Meyer I was told it will happen. I have no reason to not believe what I was told but the club are clearly looking elsewhere at the moment. Time will tell.

Ed02 has already stated that Lfc have not approached anyone regards Meyer and I'm not going to contradict what Ed has said but just pass on the info that came to me.

My personal opinion is we should go for him if the other routes fail as he has a lot of very useful tools and would blend in seemlessly and do an excellent job.

3.) 14 Jan 2018 06:46:30
I’m working in Cardiff this weekend so have sold my ticket and won’t be there ( serous bad planning on my part ) !

However, this will no stop me singing the Salah song in the pub if he scores!

4.) 14 Jan 2018 09:22:04
I'll be working in uni studying for my exams and I'll still be belting out the Salah song in the middle of the library when he scores, no doubt there'll be a few other LFC fans too.

Oh how heads will be melted

1.) 07 Jan 2018 18:59:20
We should get Skrniar, he's born on my birthday! Last Liverpool player born on Feb 11? Mcmanaman, not too shabby!

2.) 07 Jan 2018 19:07:20
I can't decrypt that clever stuff, except Milan Skriniar, I get that.

3.) 07 Jan 2018 19:32:58
It’s one of the Dinsdale brothers saying we should’ve bought Skriniar instead of Tinkerbell (VVD) unless of course I’m mistaken and we’re buying Handanovic.

4.) 07 Jan 2018 19:40:09
Let’s have a go at this, so Skriniar should have been chosen instead of (VVD? ) in sparkys opinion. Sparky then talks about electric brownies (sparkys special recipie) and goes on to dance the batusi (a dance of Batman’s when he is drugged) probably relating to twitter lads from Bolton who think they are in the know.

5.) 07 Jan 2018 20:13:40
The batman dance is related to Aubameyang
As he wears the batman mask solved.

6.) 07 Jan 2018 20:37:22
I like that Adam, as batusi is Batman’s dance based on matusi which is African (Auba is from Africa)

I’m off to go and save up for the letters on my new shirt, thanks WDS ;)

We need 150 mg of Anxicalm for releasing Coutinho, I think our anxiety is so bad now with so many names being fired around the market it wouldn’t surprise me if I needed some respite after all this, might get onto The Brazilian team doc for some magic meds to cure me. Seems to have worked wonders for Coutinho.

By the way

VVD will be announced Thursday not saying where I heard this but it’s very very reliable.

Whatever happened to the days of any player fighting and pushing themselves to the very limit of their potential rather than looking for an agreement on a basis of playing time and their preferred position? In my opinion if you think your good enough go and prove it during training and do the same and more on the playing field and if someone comes in and performs better than you in that same position fight to get your place back. Ok we are well overstocked in many areas but competitiveness on and off the field should help improve a squad better rather than comparing contract sizes as in today's game.
I get where players are coming from these days and like Can as a footballer but when push comes to shove sometimes players need their ego brought into check and told how it is and how it's going to be and if they don't like that sadly it would be time to look to move elsewhere.

savvyxone

{Ed001's Note - it doesn't work like that any more. If a club spends a record fee, that player is going to play.}
