I'm confused. Are we just itching to blast £70m on one player or have the press plucked this figure from nowhere? Is it just a coincidence that the figure touted in the Keita 'bid' is the same as the supposed VVD bid/ valuation was before the lurd hit the fan?

There are very few players in world football that can command a 70 million transfer fee even in this current climate of absurd price tags. I promise you Liverpool will not pay 70 million outright for anyone, if they do it will be with add ons.

2.) 30 Jun 2017 07:38:58
Spot on, Brendasteeth. There are indeed very few players out there that will command that 70m fee and you can say, "Yep, that's about right". VVD nor Keita are any of those players by an ocean. We signed a proven performer in the Serie A and in Europe's CL in Salah for 40m and yet many want us to sign an unproven tho talented midfielder for 70m? How you work that out, I don't know but IMO, it is ridiculous.

£50 mill would do it in my eye. The player will express his desire to move to us!

I understand the exasperation at Sturridge's recent injury woes, but he's just too clinical when fit to even consider letting go.

IF we get Klopp. Surely we could be hopeful of trying to break into the Champion's League via the Europa? I don't understand why there isn't more focus on this competition now that qualification is possible by winning it. Especially if the BPL loses a slot, thanks to the so far piss-poor showing by English clubs this year.

Surely we should go as far as we can in every competition. I completely agree!

2.) 07 Oct 2015 23:13:42
Coupled with the piss poor performances from us last year and the rest of the English teams. I think we should be ok though regardless. I can't see the Italian teams doing much in Europe this year.

3.) 07 Oct 2015 23:36:36
The Premiership is poor! Top 4 easier than "winning" Europa league that is for sure. Come on guys what you smoking? Yes we should take it seriously but there are far better teams in that competition than those in the prem - simple!

4.) 07 Oct 2015 23:35:49
The squad is so unbalanced I'm worried that the adaptation to his high press isn't going to cause some injuries.

5.) 08 Oct 2015 01:22:50
Lets just support & see what we can achieve this season as they're still lots of games left & who knows we might sneak trophy/top4 etc. Cl places are very much open 😀

6.) 08 Oct 2015 08:33:29
from what is seen of the last season we had with luis suarez, i actually think our team is perfect for the high press mate.

Nothing less than winning the EPL will do!

Sakho's head went after the first goal, he didn't celebrate with the rest of the team when Sturridge scored shortly after. Skrtel and Mignolet were trying to gee him up. At fault for the second as well. Lucas was our man of the match for me. Broke up play really well. Nice to see Sturridge back and the new stand looks immense!!

No defender is going to stop gestede from getting that 2nd ball. It was just perfectly played. The first goal I thought was more skrtels fault than sakhos, but I agree, sakho didn't do himself any favors today.

2.) 26 Sep 2015 17:28:31
Sturridge made the difference with his goals and I thought Lucas was a close second behind him in the MoM race.

3.) 26 Sep 2015 17:33:35
Emre Can was at fault the most IMO; he should have stayed with Gestede.

4.) 26 Sep 2015 17:45:44
Emre Can had Gestede but didn't track his run hence, it's all his fault. Sahko was upset and so where the fans I was with at the bar I watched the game at. Dreadful defending from a player who BR is still trying to force down everyone's throat as a CB. Sahko was at fault for the second because he had time to look where Gestede was before the cross came. He and Can, were ball watching without being aware of who was around them.

Whatever happens today, I hope Brad Guzan doesn't get the chance to rinse half the game taking goal kicks again. I personally think a win won't save Rodgers. The change of management team still smells iffy and I don't think that he, or fsg were challenged enough about it. We started so brightly this season as well. Anyway, here's hoping for an early goal so they have to chase the game. Come on red men!

40m for a player that has two years left on his contract? No brainer for me. Take the money and run.

I must admit I'm no fan of Plaiceface, but I was impressed his appeal for an apology. They deserved that. The media have been horrific these last few seasons. I think they create this circus to hide the fact that the league is woefully short of talent nowadays.
As an export, it must be amazing; anyone can beat anyone. Wow! That manager fell out with that doctor! Wow! Wayne Rooney is only 20 goals away from x record and we're going to count. down. every. one, using the same generic headline and a BBC documentary. Wow! Jamie Vardy used to wash sprouts and now he's a unicorn! Wow!
When Klopp was touted to join us, the press were on him that much that I was sick of hearing about him.
They need calling out on the sh*t they stir and they got a bit back today. Fair play.

The first of the brace he got at home to Villa was a world class finish. That, coming after his first game back from injury. Did it against West Ham last season too. I reckon he's worth the wait. Benteke is more than capable of filling in.

Heebie Jeebies (Google it) is pretty good, take photo id. They used to scan it on entry. Not sure if they still do.
