Hi Ed002 what's the plan for Andre Wisdom next season? Is anyone showing and interest or are Salzburg keen to keep him? Assuming he has no future at Liverpool. Read a report Liverpool are looking to get up to £6 million for him which is putting Salzburg off.
Also, Salzburg and Leipzig are both owned by Red Bull with Leipzig basically using Sazburg as a feeder club so could wisdom be involved in a deal for Naby Keita do you reckon?
Thanks for your time, have a good week.

tomosllee

{Ed002's Note - RBS has not shown any interest in a permanent deal. Derby and Nottingham Forest may provide options.}

1.) 02 May 2017 19:54:16
Ok thanks. Derby makes sense I suppose. Had a good season there with Steve Mcclaren a few years back.

2.) 03 May 2017 00:13:26
Youre assuming Steve McClaren will still be there by the time the transfer window is open😏.

3.) 03 May 2017 16:40:34
Big drop from international age group captain to hoping for an average Championship side to be interested, for me he's one who should have developed further.

Been told that Liverpool will be looking at Guerreiro again this summer after missing out on him to Dortmund last summer. Not seen much of him tbh but looking at his stats and he seems to have had a good season, scored a few. A possibility eds? Or just rehashed story from last summer?

tomosllee

{Ed002's Note - He has only been at Dortmund 9 months and they would not be looking to sell. Liverpool has not shown interest.}

Hi Ed001, sorry if I’ve missed it, but has there been a match review from the Huddersfield game the other night?

Thanks.

tomosllee

{Ed001's Note - no mate, I haven't had time to do it yet. I will do it as soon as I can. Still too busy at the moment to even look at it yet.}

Hi Ed001, just seen that Leon Goretzka is potentially available on a free next summer if he doesn't sign a new contract, what's your opinion on him? Seen him a few times for Germany and has looked the real deal in those games. Could make a good replacement for Emre perhaps? Although if the club see Can's long term future in a holding role the I suppose Goretzka might not be suitable.

tomosllee

{Ed001's Note - looks a very good player, I have no idea if we would need him now though, with Keita coming next season.}

1.) 07 Sep 2017 20:19:10
Probably a stupid question, I've only seen you tube highlights of keita but what is keita really that good? I truly hope so. Kante who can attack has been whispered.

{Ed025's Note - hes excellent aoe..

2.) 07 Sep 2017 20:35:15
Keita is top draw aoe and will prove to be a bargain.

3.) 07 Sep 2017 20:36:23
If anything, Klopp will probably concentrate on our defence next summer.

We will have enough midfielders even if Can leaves. Wijnaldum, Henderson, Grujic, Lallana, Ox, Coutinho (if he stays) and Keita.

And please, let's not start this talk of a defensive midfielder when it is clear that none were going to arrive or will arrive anytime soon under Klopp.

4.) 07 Sep 2017 20:45:01
If anything, Klopp will probably concentrate on our defence next summer

😄 I think he has "defence-blindness"

5.) 07 Sep 2017 20:58:03
We all know Klopp wants attacking football to be displayed and I have no problem with that. Hence we are pretty much the highest scoring team in the League since he joined.

We let in less goals 16/ 17 compared to 15/ 16 so that is improvement.

Do not expect to see the the goals stop flowing in at the other end though :-)

6.) 07 Sep 2017 22:18:48
Spot on, Max. The thing is that the media and the fans latch on to a media talking point of "LFC have defensive issues or our defence is bad". That may or may not be true as we have kept 7 clean sheets in the last 9 PL games BUT clearly as soon as we concede a goal or two, the baby is thrown out with the bath water by the fans and pundits.

Collectively, Klopp wants his team to defend the minute they lose the ball cos to him, if you switch to defensive mode and plug the holes as soon as you lose it, the back 4 does not have to do much. Already, we don't concede a lot of chances and teams simply cannot open us up and never do. The problem is that the individual errors or defensive setup during set pieces, has plagued us immensely. If we can fix that and get the CB that Klopp wants in (VVD or whoever), we will be okay esp. with Keita coming in next season to add more defensive and offensive dynamism in midfield.

7.) 08 Sep 2017 01:26:18
We've got a potential worldie in Keita, he will come in, alongside Kante, as the best central midfielder in the league. Superb player.

8.) 08 Sep 2017 05:57:49
Have made it a point to watch Keita this season and its been a very bad decision on my part. Already I want this season to end. Can't wait to see him in Liverpool red.
He works really hard, puts himself about defensively, breaks up play and turns defense into attack in a flash, and that's not even the best part of his game.
To me, his most obvious talent is driving at the heart of the opposition defense, his runs always seem to open up space for his team mates, especially if they are coming in from the wings. My one criticism is he sometimes puts too much on his forward passes and the ball skips away, and he certainly loves him some megs, maybe a bit too much.

9.) 07 Sep 2017 22:33:11
Is he that good ed25, I'll be brutally honest, I've never seen him play I don't think 😕.

{Ed025's Note - yes he is nicky, he will run the show and become your best player mate..

10.) 08 Sep 2017 07:58:45
Ed025 is right. Keita will run the LFC midfield next season.

11.) 08 Sep 2017 07:59:44
Cheers for the replies. Something to look forward to next season.

12.) 08 Sep 2017 09:23:33
Spot on, Jcan. Keita will be the steal of the season next season. The guy is the real deal and his dynamism, skill (the nutmeg is his specialty), ability and intelligence is unrivaled in the PL. Kante is not a patch on him as he is an offensive juggernaut. Kante is not and we have the better player.

{Ed025's Note - why try to discredit the best player in the league bingo just because you have got naby?, kante is exceptional and though im a massive keita fan he has yet to dip his toes in the EPL which is the toughest league in the world... typical..

Congratulations to Danny Ward. Thoroughly deserved, had a great season. Onwards and upwards.

Hi Ed001, do you think the lack of experienced winners in the squad is what causes us to seemingly lose focus against the lesser teams? There are very few players in the squad who have actually won anything in their careers and I think that might have a lot to do with the way they fail to take responsibility to change a game or show some drive when things aren't going our way. It would be nice if we could get a couple of experienced heads in this summer imo especially with champions league potentially next season. Or is it simply a case of not having enough vocal leaders on the pitch?
Thanks.

tomosllee

{Ed001's Note - not so much experienced as just winners. It wouldn't matter if they didn't have experience, so long as they were winners. Milner has plenty of experience, but he is not a winner, he is a worker, but not a winner.}

1.) 10 May 2017 12:01:03
Ok see where you're coming from ed. Problem is I guess that all the 'winners' are already at top clubs aren't they. Would be nice if a couple of the lads coming through the academy now had that kind of mentality. Maybe something that Gerrard can help the youngsters in the u18s with, he did say something about it a couple of weeks ago I'm sure that the young lads are too soft etc.

{Ed001's Note - there are winners in the lower leagues as well, not all winners are at top clubs. Some top clubs also have a lack of them, both Manchester sides and Spurs spring to mind.}

2.) 10 May 2017 12:45:33
I think we just miss a leader on the pitch.

3.) 10 May 2017 13:48:30
We used to have so many winners. Gerrard, Kuyt, Carragher and Reina all stand out in my memory. The only winner we've had in the last 2 years now is Henderson. He is the only player I've seen come off the pitch after a defeat and look sincerely gutted.

It is part of the reason why local players are loved so much though. A player playing for the team he supports will become a winner even if he otherwise isn't. For me a winner is a player who plays as though he is a fan of his club. Someone who die for the cause. That is why we came so close in 13/ 14. We had Agger, Flanagan, Gerrard, Henderson and Suarez. They all wanted to win more than they cared about their pay cheque.

4.) 10 May 2017 14:51:17
You don't have to be a winner to be a leader. Look at Tom Brady, for example. He till this day, plays with a hunger and chip on his shoulder cos he was overlooked in high school and University as a perennial back up QB and he has NEVER let that go in spite of all his success. That is fuel for his fire and a main reason why he is still motivated to go out there and compete.

He was not born a winner BUT forged a steely resolve to be successful cos he felt slighted for being overlooked. Playing with a chip on your shoulder and always having something to prove, can make you a leader by example cos others can feed off that. Same for Carra who proved his doubters wrong cos many thought he would not make it at LFC YET he did. Those are what you need.

05 May 2017 10:25:18
Who would you lads say our most improved player this season is then? The eds can feel free to give their opinion too.
It's between Migs and lallana for me. Lallana probably edging it because we have still shipped a lot of goals and he's added goals and assists to his game and as well as being very effective in the middle, whereas we were basically playing with 10 men at times last season when he was out wide.
Credit where it's due though Mignolet hasn't had a clanger in a long while and I don't believe he's at fault for the large number of goals we've conceded. They mainly come from lapses in concentration ahead of him. Although I suppose you could say if he was more vocal organising his defence that wouldn't happen, so that's where he can improve next season for me.

tomosllee

1.) 05 May 2017 11:00:38
I'd go for Lallana, though he is still showing signs of inconsistency. Shout-out for Mignolet, and Hendo has excelled in the deeper role.

2.) 05 May 2017 11:03:15
Emre Can has improved through the season - plays so much better when Hendo is not in the team. Migs has surprised with his recent improved perfromances. got to give him credit, must have been a kick in the balls to be dropped to no.2 at start of season for him then to come in and play with some confidence.

3.) 05 May 2017 11:23:24
Roberto Firmino.

4.) 05 May 2017 12:49:11
TAA and woodburn, with brewster coming in third. For the first team has to be migs.

5.) 05 May 2017 12:51:03
Lallana for me. I wouldn't have been upset if we'd sold him last summer. He was so frustrating, clear ability but always slowing down play and ruining attacks doing numerous cruyff turns. Now since being put in the middle he's become instrumental to our style of play. Running his socks off every game. Using his tricks and ability at the right times to keep possession and also moving the ball on quickly when necessary most of the time. On top of that he has chipped in with some goals. It's great to see him still improving and long may it continue.

6.) 05 May 2017 18:14:16
Lallana? He improved for about 4 months and has now gone 5 months without a goal or assist.

Not for me. For me it is Mignolet. He's gone from being an undeniable liability in every aspect of his game to now making saves he should be making that used to go through his rubber wrists, and also being confident and decisive on crosses and set pieces. Kicking is still wayward and he is far from top class, but last season he was League 1 or League 2 quality, and now he doesn't look out of place in the Prem.

7.) 05 May 2017 19:50:21
Going to be controversial and say Milner, he's been pretty solid at left back, not spectacular, but you said most improved, don't think he had ever had a good or solid game for us until this season. I would still replace him though.
To be honest a lot of players have improved dramatically this season, Lallana stands out, as does coutinho and Can.

8.) 05 May 2017 19:57:55
Roberto Firmino, by a mile compared to last season.

9.) 06 May 2017 06:41:16
Llalana or Firmino - both have stepped it up to be real talismans this season. Firmino I feel still has another step up to go.

{Ed025's Note - i would say another 2 or 3 zimbo..

Big clubs won't touch him bingo? Since leaving LFC he's managed Chelsea, Napoli, Inter and Real Madrid. They are all huge clubs and Newcastle aren't exactly a small club either and he's doing a decent job there under the circumstances of working for mike Ashley. I'm not one of the ones who wants him back but come on, show a bit of respect he's still a good coach and a great man. He's won more than us in the time since he left.

Superred, I thing the website you're referring to is Navixsport. Really good website, always high quality. Only draw back is that it's usually an american stream so half time analysis is dire. I use Reddit to find streams too can't beat it.

Literally every Leicester player that came up for that free kick was offside when the call came in. Don't know why the commentators were making such a big thing of it. Linesman got it spot on. Knew we'd concede after that Vardy dive.

That's a good point Smeg Head, why didn't they just think to play better? That would've solved all our problems. Now you mention it why didn't klopp just manage better? We'd be in be next round of the cup if the players just took your advice.
