It would appear that over the past few days we're being linked with players - Ciro Immobile, Weston Mckennie, Fekir again (I know that one is tripe) - where as previously it was very quiet.

Do you see us dipping into the market or staying as we are?

1.) 17 Jan 2019 20:10:02
Where do you see Ciro Immobile fitting in? That would be a massive waste of money and I think the powers that be know better than to go for a transfer like that.

Where did you even read this rumour?

2.) 17 Jan 2019 21:22:24
It's been all over the web today Eric.

Nonsense in my opinion. Klopp sold Immobile after he flopped emphatically at Dortmund. Not sure he'd give him another chance. He's improved a lot since those days, but I'm still not convinced.

3.) 17 Jan 2019 21:33:42
I very much doubt Immobile and Klopp would want to work together again. I think he's very much suited to Serie A as well, no idea why he'd leave that league now.

Weston Mckennie seems like a random name. Even if that was on the cards - which it probably isn't - that's one for the summer, surely?

4.) 18 Jan 2019 09:55:58
He is to static.

5.) 18 Jan 2019 10:56:45
I can only potentially see us going for a fullback if someone good unexpectedly became available (to replace Clyne), or perhaps an outside chance of a forward (but again only if some really special became available, and also Sturridge or Origi were to leave) .

On balance I suspect neither will happen and we will continue with our current squad which is just fine by me.

6.) 18 Jan 2019 13:28:09
Immobile must be the most unfortunate name ever for a footballer.

7.) 18 Jan 2019 17:02:24
Agreed johnnyr. It's even worse than Danny rubbishtu.

Eds,

Liverpool and Man U battling for Federico Chiesa. I'm not asking for any confirmation, I'm wondering which news outlets are trustworthy and which are full of BS. This one comes from the Express.

Or are they all lying b*****ds

Cheers.

whisky

{Ed002's Note - I acnnot advise about news outlets but I am not aware of any Liverpool interest in Federico Chiesa - who would be a straight replacement for Salah.}

1.) 13 Jun 2018 19:21:42
The Express are just about the worst. What they will do is pick up any story from around the world, attribute a sensationalist headline to it, then publish it.

You know a lot of papers have transfer ‘whispers’ lists? The kind even they know are not true? Well the Express is a whole transfer whispers rag.

2.) 13 Jun 2018 19:38:19
Hi Ed thanks for that. Can I ask why he would be a replacement is it due to how much he would cost? We saw what happened in the CL final when one of our front three go off. Wouldn’t we buy a player so we could keep rotating them? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Why would be move to Liverpool to sit on the bench.}

3.) 13 Jun 2018 19:48:47
No not to sit on the bench but to rotate with the other three. If successful each of them could play Over 40 games each and the likelihood is that there will be injuries also throughout a long season.

{Ed002's Note - it really doesn’t work like that.}

4.) 13 Jun 2018 20:46:45
The Express only has 16 journalists (at the last count) covering the entire paper. It might get slightly better now Trinity Mirror have taken it from Murdoch Lite, Richard Desmond. The reality is none of the papers have even the slightest. which is why we should show the eds and this site a lot more respect. *mic drop*.

Eds,

Anything in Strakosha of Lazio? Seen it on the echo website that LFC are in for him.

Cheers.

whisky

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

1.) 30 May 2018 06:08:31
His agent is pushing for a move to LFC, but he wants to stay at Lazio.

18 Dec 2014 18:39:44
Hi eds,

Do we have any interest whatsoever in Karim Benzema like the papers are saying? Wouldn't this be a tad ambitious?

Cheers

whisky

{Ed001's Note - we did a few years back, as far as I am aware that interest died back then.}

12 Jul 2014 13:33:47
Hi eds
Caught Offside (I know!) have said that lfc are in advanced talks with chelsea over r lukaku. Do they just make this up or do they know something that you don't?

Cheers

whisky

{Ed002's Note - I have explained that another club are talking to Chelsea about Lukaku.}

Eds,

Numerous media outlets speculating that we're done in the transfer market since Allison. People on here saying it could be a smokescreen to keep deals under the radar a la Fabinho. Your thoughts/ insight would be much appreciated as to whether you think the fekir deal, or any other for a no 10 replacement, is on it off.

Cheers.

whisky

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

1.) 20 Jul 2018 14:17:11
haha, 'smokescreen' and 'radar' in the same sentence.
Classic footy jargon gibberish. :)

2.) 20 Jul 2018 14:18:10
I feel sorry for you eds on this question, i think i have seen it hundreds of times over the last couple of days.

My view whisky is that if an opportunity arises that is of interest similar to the Fabinho situation we may be interested. But the concentration at the minute is shifting players as the squad is too big and I can imagine wages need trimming too.

{Ed002's Note - Or if one or two of the goalkeepers leave putting Liverpool in a position of needing to recruit another one - or two?

3.) 20 Jul 2018 14:39:32
Thanks Ed!

12 Jul 2018 21:26:48
Eds,

I've read links to Mina, Kjaer, Vida and others. Do you know of any real interest in defenders this window? We look to be well stocked but I don't suppose that means we won't sell. Any insight would be brilliant.

Cheers.

whisky

{Ed002's Note - Nope.}

1.) 12 Jul 2018 22:05:30
On that note, it’s probably a bad time to request a transfer skarkopod (misspelt) .?

Regards.

2.) 12 Jul 2018 22:48:01
Be silly not to get vida.

Boss with Lovren and wouldn't cost the earth.

What do you mean well stocked.

Vvd and Lovren? All season. Matip and klavan are not up to scratch my friend.

3.) 12 Jul 2018 23:48:42
Vida looks too much like a James Bond villain for my liking.

4.) 12 Jul 2018 23:55:06
Vida? world cup syndrome at its finest. He's not good enough and is not a significant improvement on Matip And Klavan. Plus we need to consider the fact that Joe Gomez will be getting more game time next season. If we're going to bring in a centre back we need to be aiming higher or younger.

5.) 13 Jul 2018 05:15:45
Why do people get their knickers in a twist over guys like Klavan? Does a solid job as a 4th choice centre back when he plays. Which is all you need from a 4th choice.

6.) 13 Jul 2018 06:35:37
If we’re not spending on a keeper, latest rumour is that we’re giving Ward a chance, then I’d like us to also lodge a bid for Alderweireld.

{Ed0333's Note - Are you a gossip queen Zeddicus? Very few people genuinely nowadays know the clubs transfer business and it’s people like you that get preyed on by the social media ITK’s who obtain notoriety and are compensated financially. Do yourself a favor mate just relax enjoy the ride and see what transpires in the next 3 weeks. Do you think Ward is a Premiership winning standard keeper Zed?

7.) 13 Jul 2018 08:56:36
You know what Brisbane, was a massive critic of Klavan but some of his performances last season were top notch. He’s a decent back up centre back who is very no nonsense. He struggles against pace but aerial stuff he handles very competently.

8.) 13 Jul 2018 08:33:13
I am the queen of gossip, how did you know, Ed0333?!

I’m very relaxed about the ride, mate. For all the hype on here about Ward over the last 2-3 years, and if we can’t get who we want, then why not give the lad a chance? Don’t get me wrong, my big preference is to get a marked upgrade on our current keepers, and I have seen enough of Migs to know he’s not the answer to any question. I had high hopes for Karius, but he still seems to have the baggage from CL final, and the fans will be all over him (ours and others) so I suspect we may not see him as a regular. I don’t know if Ward is CL level, we’ve hardly seen him in a Liverpool shirt. His distribution is meant to be very good though, so I wonder why he’s not been given a chance.

As to Alderweireld, I just think he’s a fantastic defender! If Spurs can be persuaded to sell, I’d love us to be in for him, as him and VVD would, I believe, form a great partnership.

No real answers for me, and I’m not ITk at all, nor a member of the Twitterati. Most of my info comes from here!

{Ed0333's Note - I’m pretty sure Alderweireld will not be coming to us as much as I like him. Levy is a shrewd operator, will get top dollar for him and I’m not confident Liverpool will spend massively on someone whose 30 this year. If they were to spend on an old man, my hope would be Vida, he wouldn’t cost the world, is exactly what we need (IMO) and comes with an understanding with lovren. Regarding Ward I just feel he’s playing catch up and that’s gonna inhibit him. I would have played him more last season and seen if he was up to the task. I adore Klopp but he is massively at fault for this keeper situation. He should have been more ruthless with Migs got rid of him sooner and had Ward and Karius fighting for the Jersey. I still think Ward has something about him but my fear is he lost that season of competitive football which could be damaging?

22 Jun 2018 17:40:14
Eds,

All this media hype about every man and his dog linked to us, they're changing every day. I realise you can't be permanently in the know so any chance of a round-up of what you know right now of transfers both in and out?

Thanks in advance for your efforts.

whisky

{Ed002's Note - it is to my knowledge sort of what I have said as far as I know. Macfadden has helped out as well with options. One or two ideas may have arrived but it isn’t Johnny Cash’s car.}

Is that it then Eds? Shall I switch Sky sports news off? Or is there a glimmer of hope that we might be signing a world beater that nobody knows about? You've been very quiet today, all things considered.

Ed 002,

I realise you could tell me to cart off to the European pages but could elaborate on the Real first choice forward for next summer? Just checking it's not mane?

{Ed002's Note - Mbappe - there has not been a secret about it. PSG will look to fend it off.}

I'd say let him go. He hasn't filled me with confidence this season. He looks like he can't pass and is only out for himself to score goals. There's only Mane who has shown promise in my eyes out of the front 3. Cash in on him.
