My mate seems to think his team, West Ham have made a bid for Milner which is being considered.

We'd be mad to let him go this year. His experience could be vital in the UCL. Has been shown time and time again how important experienced shoulders can be to success. Talent alone is often not enough.

He showed last season how important he is to the club. Model pro, glad he plays for us.

I agree. Eventually I'd like to see Milner go but this season is not the time.

I on the other hand would let Milner go. Can't see him getting much games time this season apart from league cup and FA cup but I would rather the young players get a chance in that in them competitions. Don't see him anywhere near good enough to get near playing in central midfield for us. and at the wages he is on to be reserve full back just seems a waste of money. And for Milner at his age all ways wants to play let him go to a club where he will play most weeks where he wants I think he earned that for the way he played last season out of position and did not moan just got on with it. As footballers this day and age don't normally think of the team first. YNWA.

Don't see why we'd let him go - Robertson untested at highest level and don't trust Moreno, plus could be very useful if we need cover elsewhere as I'm sure would be effective at RB or even RM if required. He's a seasoned pro and very versatile and we need depth.

It's worth the high wages to have cover for 4/ 5 positions.

Spot on, Grino. I love Milner as well but were he to go, I would not be bothered. I don't see him getting any time in midfield (he is simply not good enough there) or in defence (maybe at RB but we are well furnished there) so really, if WH really want him and he wants to leave, let him.

Milner not good enough in midfield? Dunno about that. Last yr he had no option (apart from moreno) to play at left back but the yr before he was used in midfield quite a lot. Usually a holding player. As I've said, his versatility and experience could be invaluable. For a team who's only two downfalls are depth and defence it would be crazy to sell a player like Milner. Also a very good role model for the young squad.

{Ed025's Note - i like milner..
