Brewster to Sheffield done. 23.5 million with buy back clause after 3 years and 15 percent sell on clause. Good business.

If I read it correctly, the buyback is active for 3 years and then expires. Its not after 3 years ^_^.

{Ed002's Note - That would be more likely.}

Buyback shmyback.

Once in history did LFC "buy back" a player, and he was the greatest striker in the club's history.

Brewster will almost certainly never play for LFC again.

Red67 can you tell me when we're signing Mbappe with that crystal ball of yours?

{Ed002's Note - Another Chelsea reject.}

Is it Rush, or Fowler?
Or Bellamy?

All three had 2 spells at the club.

No crystal ball, I'm afraid. I would have made a few billion and bought the club.

But I do remember seeing photos of Brewster getting his haircut and what-not with a Champions League medal around his neck, and thinking: "Wow, this kid thinks he's already made it! Not a good sign"

And sure enough, 16 months later, he is a Sheffield United player.

Time and effort Klopp and co. invest to train him is time they cannot invest in Jota, a Sarr, or a Doku. Economists call it opportunity cost; Billy Beane calls it WAR (wins against replacement) . In simple terms: is this guy the best use of our valuable time? Clearly, they decided no.

I think Brewster has the potential to be a lethal striker, though. Hence the fee. But he needs to play every week, and he needs a coach who is a disciplinarian, and for whom it makes sense to invest the time. Hence Chris Wilder.

As we are repeatedly told: it's not the most talented who make it to the very top, but the most trainable.

He will be a success at Sheffield. Unfortunate that we can't find time for him, but understandable. Love to see Rhian back one day. Who knows?
