Is there any truth in David Alaba because i do see him as a sensible lb or cb and dm. he played a lot of dm for Austria. I see him as milly replacement.

His wage requests are holding up any extension in Germany, I doubt we could match his demands.

David Alaba would be a starting 11 signing as he’s either a LB, LCB or DM so absolutely no chance of this signing.

If out of contract and looking to join us i think he'd be a terrific signing. Can cover numerous positions to a top standard.

Reports suggest his wage demants are at 20mio a year. don't think we have that kind of money to pay for a CB.

Huge wages and signing on fee. VVD will take the LCB spot when he's back fit, Robertson is first choice LB and Fabinho is first choice at CDM so where would he fit? It's a FIFA signing.

Highly doubtful. He doesn't fulfill any urgent requirement. And why are we suddenly looking at players who are 28 years and above?

Because he's a class act and has been his whole career. don't get me wrong i see that if the wages are as high as quoted and with Robbo/ VVD at the club why this wouldn't happen. But the whole age thing?, i heard this all summer with Thiago, and now all of a sudden people realise how good a player we could have for the next 4/ 5 years. Alaba only turned 28 in June . For me the club should always be trying to sign the best young players in the world but when a free 28/ 29 yr old Thiago or Alaba also makes sense they shouldjump at it.

{Ed002's Note - And how would Liverpool afford the cost of Alaba' wages?}

I'd actually would like to see VVD at RCB somewhere down the line. Half a second quicker delivery on those crossfield passes should cause even more trouble for opponents.

I mentioned the wages as a reason why it might not happen if you RTP correctly ed😉.

How unimaginable are his wage demands does anyone have a tough clue? Because you could potentially get in a player for no transfer fee yet the quality of player would cost likely 50mill to sign if under contract. Could that not afford some extra investment in salary or are his demands utterly ludicrous? I know that Milner and matip were both given large wages when they were signed on a free. When you see what city had to spend on Nathan ake or villa on Tyrone mings, both left sided players capable of playing centre and left back and were 40mil transfer fees alone. And for a player who is actually proven to be top quality with his career to date at one of the world's best team. Your not going to get that calibre without spending huge money so surely even large wages would be a bargain considering lovren lallana both having high wages and soon Milner will all be freeing up large salary costs that surely combined would cover alaba signing package and with money left over. He's a player who can play in each of those departures position and is far better quality while also a few years younger.

Are there any other question marks over him that clubs are put off by? I would have thought he'd have clubs queing up to sign him. Juventus got Ramsey on a free but have been happy to pay him 400000 a week instead. Surely alaba wouldn't even demand that much even though he's worth more than Ramsey. Would somewhere like psg be his most likely move. I'd think they could pay him to replace thiago Silva or maybe juve looking to replace chiellini. Barca, real, United, Chelsea, city, inter, juve could all do with him in their squads so is it simply just money that's a problem.

Tbf everyone said the same about thiago. I don't see where he would play but he is class.
