Morning ed2, hope you are well.

Ive seen this morning that we have apperently bid for Koulibaly.

Is there any truth in this or just another guess from the press?

{Ed002's Note - Kalidou Koulibaly (CB) Bayern Munich have put in an offer for KK that is much less (about half) than Napoli's valuation of €50M but financial issues may see Napoli either accept the deal - which I am told the player wants, or to ask for offers from elsewhere which is what Napoli have done with his agent. Although Carlo Ancelotti knows the player well it is unlikely Everton could raise the funds. A move to a Spanish club is probably not possible for legal reasons and the interest of PSG, Manchester City and Manchester United has likely gone due to his age. He would certainly give Klopp the starter he wants and there is no doubt about how good he is, but €50M for a 30 year old would not seem like good business. I am not aware of any offer but Liverpool may well have spoken with his agents.}

I don't tnk it's true. if that bid was 30m maybe. when bayern bid 25 for him I doubt Michael Edwards would bid 15m more if there is a chance Napoli would accept it.

50m euro is expensive yeah.
Eduards might be working his magic though, if Bayern are offering 25 then we might get him for little more than that?

Thanks matey

Can i ask if there are any new snippits of info on incomings/ outgoings that have reached your shell like?

{Ed002's Note - It looks like Liverpool are not interested in keeping Wijnaldum so I expect he will go. I am not sure Liverpool have decided how to replace him yet - whether to use Curtis Jones as a starter in place of Wijnaldum and perhs bring in cover, or even use Grujic as cover - or to look to the likes of an Yves Bissouma or Florian Neuhaus type of player.}

Morning Ed, do Liverpool have the money to buy the likes of a starting cb and a midfielder, or will our transfer kitty come mainly from player sales? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have been accumulating debt in transfers for the past year by paying a small amount and agreeing future payments. The club have the facilities avialable to borrow from a financial institution if they want, but really should look to the funding of transfers through sales. The club, like others, will have suffered serious losses due to the pandemic and the match day income drying up. However, the club could work to sell the likes of Shaqiri, Wilson, Miller, Awoniyi, Origi, Grujic, Ojo, Larouci and even Tsimikas (who Napoli are interested in) to raise funds, and if they are looking to the future perhaps sacrifice one of the front three whilst they still have some value and look to add someone younger.}

Thanks ed, i think the players on the list will make around £65m with a bit of luck maybe £75m if Edwards can work his magic. We could really do with the £30m we would have got from selling Gini.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have struggled to sell the likes of Grujic because of the asking price - with less money being available for players of this calibre, finding buyers might be difficult.}

Hi Ed 002,

Is it possible that Liverpool could use Tsimikas in a deal to sign Koulibaly?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It might be possible but Tsimikas has little value so it would not help a great deal.}

ed002 Am not sure what we would get for Shaqiri, Wilson, Miller, Awoniyi, Origi, Grujic, Ojo and Tsimikas. But I would take one good CB in place of all them if you added up all there minutes over the past 2 season for Liverpool would not even be much as a squad player. As for A Gini replacement I would like Sander Berge but more to help the rotating Fabinho so Henderson does not have to drop back there and let Jones cover Gini's place. But if not Sander Berge a young defensive midfielder as Fabinho is the only one that plays that role in are squad and when Henderson drops back there we lose so much. To the Sander Berge point will he have some sort of clause in his contract if sheff utd get relegated.

{Ed002's Note - Sander Berge (DM/CM) Sheffield United accept that Berge will move in the summer and are hopeful of an auction - Arsenal are keen to resolve issues surrounding a number of loan/fringe and unwanted players and are keen to add Berge or Bissouma as a replacement. West Ham don't want to sell Rice, but if they end up accepting an offer, then he is one of the options on their list. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool or Spurs at this time but Mr Mourinho has tried to by Berge in the past.}

cheers ed002 yeah Berge to spurs would be a good move for them they need a DM bad I think there midfield has not looked right since they sold Dembele balance has been wrong ever since.
