Well personally I think that's us goosed now. FSG have serious debt problems and this was a method of solving that. The only other realistic option now I suspect is to sell-off major players and not replace them, cancel planned projects and see what other assets can be strippd and sold (land etc) .

Within a couple of years we'll be back to the same level of the last year of the reign of Gillette and Hicks, only this time there will be no white kights riding to the rescue unless they can do exactly what FSG tried to do - capitalise on the brand internationally.

We do not have a right to exist. The club has to generate the money from income to pay it's own way or it simply is not a sustaiable venture for any would-be take-over.

So are you in favour of the club ruining football as we know it?

If this appalling, elitist and destructive version of a sport loved my billions was the 'only' option FSG had, then I would rather be finishing 8th every season with the occasional league Cup win and miracle in Istanbul to watch than play in a league like that .

John Henry is by most accounts a highly intelligent ruthless businessman, he seems highly sensitive to criticism, based on that I'd say its fair to say he will attempt to make as much money out of the club as possible before leaving it as destitute as is profitable .

I share the concerns outlined above, however perhaps there is a chink of light. FSG and Henry will always put business first. To maximise the ongoing value of their “asset”, they have to ensure the club remains close to the most lucrative revenue streams. I think they will spend just enough to ensure that happens - as is the case along the M62. It may be the lower reaches of the Top 4 and an occasional cup rather than something else.

Whatever unfolds I expect us to be a more aggressive developer and reseller of young talent and at the forefront of whatever new scheme is being cooked up.

Personally I’d rather they left but can’t see how that could happen in a way I would find acceptable - they’re pretty despicable but I’d rather have money grabbing Yanks over those with a much lower set of moral values.

Doing that would be a major risk! No CL, less money and less from sponsorship. Its a balancing act the club need to get right.

You don't think there's some Billionaire investors rubbing their hands together now? Think this makes Liverpool more appealing to someone looking to buy. But looking at FSG it seems they wouldn't give a hoot that fans want them out, they won't look to sell, or i'd be surprised if they did, i pray they do.

No there isn’t Lancaster!
What billionaires do u see wanting to buy the club!

Fans need to wake up stop thinking it’s rains money!
Oh know city are buying messi and haaland and we’ve only bought davies wake up!
What buyers want to buy a club where your been told your assets will be burnt to the ground you’ll be shot if u enter Liverpool etc get a grip!

It is difficult to see how they can sell, the club is significantly devalued at the moment due to reduced revenue with the ongoing C.V. situation. If FSG want as much money as possible they will have to wait for a better economic environment, that could be another year away.

If C.V. hadn't come along, the club would have been worth the most last summer.

Who is going to buy the club with the current situation going on.

sorry but not having Spirit of shankley running LFC. Who have their own agenda. I'd rather stick with FSG. They made mistakes before with ticket pricing, but they have also done some good things. like keeping anfield and investing in that stadium.

{Ed002's Note - You don't need to worry about that.}

I'll make you a nap-on guarenteed forecast now. Within 10 years, China will have a world-beating league, hoovering-up the greatest players from all over the world, earning money that makes wages now look like chicken-feed, and the european game will be in serious, impoverished decline. And buy opposing the ESL, you've all but guarenteed it. The fact that some of you can't even see that beggers belief.

{Ed001's Note - you are talking nonsense. The fact you believe it shows how little you understand the game. China's rise was due to government support, which got withdrawn a long time ago. The huge wages are not only no longer on offer, but clubs are limited on signings from abroad as their interest is in creating a national team that can compete.} Become a Patron!

We shall see. Europe is in decline. The future is the emerging markets of Africa, China and Australasia/ Malaysia and having the ability to ruthlessly exploit them before they ruthlessly exploit you. In China, big money talks and government listens and changes.

{Ed001's Note - Europe is in decline? Utter crap, European football is far from in decline, the European Champions League is the most obscenely successful competition of all time. And it is getting more successful with each season.

If you knew anything about China, you would know that the govt did quite the opposite when it came to football. While big money was being thrown at it, they decided to put a stop to it, because the money was going out of the country. Not exactly big money talking and the government listening and changing is it? Quite the opposite, they made big money listen and change.}

Chinese soccer is in reasonably big trouble. Couple of major clubs have folded due to their owners running into financial trouble. Not all is rosy with the chinese economy.

Am i right in saying the current league winners of the CSL had all money pulled from them by the owners and are no longer a team?

{Ed077's Note - Yes. Jiangsu Suning, later named Jiangsu FC, won their first trophy in the last season and then the team was folded due to the economic strain caused by the pandemic.

The same owners also own Inter Milan.}

Calm down Jay, there are always buyers looking for clubs, might not be the right buyer but their always looking for the next investments, if you don't believe the richest want to get into the richest league in the world then that's your view, I've been saying all week that now we should be getting a cap introduce on agents, players and transfers, that is the only way clubs won't be in hundreds of million in debt, but you won't see Neville and everyone kick off about that for the fans, the fans haven't got football back, Perez is right, it won't stop the clubs looking to form a new competition because they feel there the ones who the people watch so they should get the bigger slice of the pie, Uefa and Fifa are the winners, you think they will get investigated properly now? Like the Qatar world cup investigation, all elite football is corrupt at the top because of the money.

{Ed077's Note - all elite football? Is that the football franchise league created by Tony Khan lol ;-)}
