Wonder Dog Sparky posted this around half an hour ago: "Skipping in from his playroom, Sparky says has been wondering if Origi and Phillips for Bowen might be of interest to Liverpool. "

Thoughts? Would you be happy with that?

Is Wonderdog Sparky the reincarnation of Ted Rogers, and more importantly, can he do that 3 2 1 thing with his paws?

{Ed002's Note - I don’t think he knows who Ted Rogers is. Do you mean Ginger Rogers?}

I think that’s a good deal for West Ham.
For us as well? Maybe yeah. We are getting a piece of the jigsaw sorted. I just worry about letting Phillips go, I can’t see it as anything other than a risk, that might be me being overly cautious after watching our defence crumble last season though.
For the 3 players involved I think it suits all 3 as well.

Not sure id be happy payine 30-35 million for Bowen which is roughly the value of Nat and Div. Think id prefer to just keep them both tbh.

I'd prefer to keep Nat and not sign Bowen but in terms of valuations, West Ham would reject this.

Nat clearly has been available for £15M and a bid of around £12M would surely do for Origi so £27M for Bowen - I think West Ham would want closer to £35M.

£20mill more like, think we'd be doing well to get £8m for Divock in this market. And Phillips is a FIFTH choice defender, if anyone is willing to give us £12-15m jump on it.

We have to wait until VVD and Gomez are fully fit. We have to learn from last year. Phillips can be sold in Jan if all is well.

If somebody offered us £ 35m for Origi and Phillips I would be very surprised if the overwhelming majority on didn’t say yes.

By the same token, we are (allegedly) looking for a versatile front player who would basically be a back-up, along with Jota and possibly Ox and Elliot for our front three. I assume but am ready to stand corrected, that Bowen is classified as HG and selling Divock would mean we could sign another Johnny Foreigner type of chap?

So, in theory we would seem to be getting a potentially reasonable deal. That said (10 pts if you can think of one) - when was the last time that a transfer happened that consisted of three players in a swap deal?

Perhaps Sparky is just being a bit mischievous after all?

Have to say i'd rather loan an attacker like Coutinho for a season than pay silly money for Bowen, especially when we have such good young players coming through in them positions.

I think this wouldn’t be a bad deal. Bowen suits our style better than Origi. Of course he’s got to a lot of work to do on his game but mane wasn’t the finished article before he joined.

As for Phillips if he wants to get minutes who are we to stop him after the shift he put in last season…unless everyone saying keep him means he should start before konate, matip, Vvd and Gomez.
