Ed002, is Origi still bound for France or Belgium in January? I assume it would be a loan not sale?

{Ed002's Note - Origi was priced out of a sale by the club and interested sides have moved on. I think leaving in January is unlikely given players are off to AFCON.}

Ok, can you see LFC bringing in anyone else in January?

{Ed002's Note - Clubs rarely plan for January transfers and if additions are to be made the space needs to be made available - perhaps by letting Karius go.}

ed2, if we do let karius go in jan. how does that work in terms of contracts? do we owe him money, or do the club and player come to some sort of arrangement?

{Ed002's Note - If he is released then Liverpool will pay the remaining few months of his contract or will sell him for a very low fee.}

I hate the idea of Origi moving on. I love the bloke to death and whilst he might not fit our system he always seems to score those half chances that we have become accustomed to Bobby not finishing off. Not knocking Bobby there Origi is just a goal scorer. Personally I hope he gets a run during the AFCON and convinces Klopp he can stay and do a job for us. If not then I hope he goes somewhere he starts every game and shows everyone just how good he can be. I think he is seriously underrated not just on these pages but in general.

I’m not saying he’s the best player in the world. I said he is a goal scorer. Look at his stats online over his years with liverpool with goals scored per minute played. On average he scores a goal every other game! That’s pretty bloody good these days. Then consider he rarely gets a run in the team and still performs at that level. Only Salah in our forward line posts more consistent numbers. I’m just saying with Mane, Salah and Bobby getting on and Origi only 26 it might be worth giving him a run and seeing what he can do. We might all be surprised. I agree he’s happy but ed001 has said previously he loves the club and wants to stay. Good enough for me.

Most of his goals have come in the league cup against crabs though. The goals per minute ratio really bumped up significantly by that competition. If you took prem only he’s probably a 1 in 5 striker.
