"Caution MOTD fever post" after watching lfc anilhate the sorry blues last night, I felt like a watch of MOTD was in order to relive the joys of the game. After watching us teach them a lesson I sort of lost interest in rest of the games. The Wolves vs Burnley game come on and whilst it was a bore 0-0 MOTD showed some geezer called Adama Traore I think he was. On first look I thought I dozed off and ufc come on after coz he was built like a juiced up roid head. Now at times his decision making seems suspect at best he can beat a man like he not there and if anyone can turn a him into a world class player then surely Klopp is the man? Now reading reports (I know how daft of me to believe tabloids) he could be available for about £20m. What you reckon ed002, do you forsee lfc making move for him in the upcoming window?

{Ed002's Note - Klopp likes him and he is affordable - and I would not be surprised by an offer from Liverpool.}

Match of the day fever. Its all very well beating someone, but if you can’t do anything with the ball afterwards then there’s no point.

You cannot coach that final ball into him, sorry, but you can’t. By that logic why isn't Divock Origi a 20 goal a season striker, if it can be ‘coached’ as easily as some seem to think?

There is no amount of training or coaching that will change the fact that he has absolutely no end product, he can’t pass, he can’t shoot and he can’t cross. And if La Masia couldn’t get that technique into him, no one can.

Will be by a horrific waste of money if we spend £20m on him. Has dumpster fire written all over it.

{Ed0666's Note - you’ve got a real hard on for Traore haven’t you mate?

Not wrong though, Ed0666, am I? He’s a shockingly poor player. If I were to call him one dimensional it would be being generous in the extreme. He’s only even remotely useful in a team playing on the counter attack, which we don’t.

Also, given how dire our money situation is, frittering what little we do have on a winger who literally doesn’t score or create goals is bordering on criminal insanity.

Honestly smfh at anyone who thinks there’s a top player in there. There isn’t. There never will be.

The players we should be swerving (Traore, Dembele and Sanches) are the ones we’re seriously considering, and that’s a poor show on the club.

Can you write a mock C. V for him pretty please?

Yet he gets in the Spanish national side.

Evening lads, Wolves fan here. Not looking forward to being thrashed this weekend but inevitable as you look the best team in Europe currently.
However, if you do fancy buying Traore I will start my car now and pick him up myself!
Highlights reel on MOTD will always make him look good but don’t show the 17 times he gave the ball away or falls over. He really is a comedy show and I can’t wait to get rid of him.
However, he is a top bloke and wouldn’t leave a recent event until everyone had a picture or autograph. He also spent 15 minutes talking to my lad on the car park one afternoon after training and was genuinely lovely. Either way, it will take a minimum of £30m despite what the daily Mirror are saying!
Go easy on us this weekend please and then go in a win the league!

VVVV, everyone who reads this site (and I’ll bet a whole lot more who don’t read this site), know and really do understand what you think about Traore.

You are entitled to your opinion and you are entitled to express it, but we’ve all grasped the idea that you think he has no end product and that players cannot be coached in the techniques required to produce a decent end product, so subverting 70% of posts to slag him (and Sanches off) really is becoming tedious.

I support the club and all the lads who pull on the shirt. It maybe that he doesn’t make the grade IF we sign him but I’d be happy to support both the opinion of one of the best managers in world football today and to support him trying to coach raw talent to produce the goods. Call me old fashioned but I thought that’s what fans do.

{Ed0666's Note - you forgot the bit about how he couldn’t make it at the Barcelona youth academy.

It all boils down to what makes a great team - if you think it is a mix of skills, character and understanding of the way the team plays that together makes the sum of the whole greater than the sum of the parts or you want 11 individuals who are the most talented in their respective positions but have no concept of the team.

Anyway roll on January - nothing like four weeks of hysteria to get the year off to a flying start.

Do the ed's have any idea as to which players that have been brought in under JK were actually his choices, as opposed to the data/ committee / edwards?
With it being the last 2 years of JK's reign, transfers have to be spot on now, ie making the most of having such a pull at the helm.

{Ed001's Note - it has always been his final say.}

7 goals in 116 league games for Wolves tells a story. One which says he’s not worth looking at. The fact that Wolves fans can’t wait to get shot of him tells its own story.

We really don’t have a lot of money to play with and wasting it on a substandard player like Traore is profligacy of the highest order.

Inevitably he’ll sign (as that’s likely to happen), all I can say is it will be a huge waste of money and I doubt that he’s going to prove me wrong. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

He ticks lots of boxes as a Klopp player and now he's more then affordable coz of he's contract situational.

@ Tommo1970 - Nice comments! Wolves will accept a lot less than £23m (around £18m-£19m) but £23m in a structured repayment plan for AT. BUT I doubt he will be our January target unless we cannot get one of our top targets early in the window.

I'm intrigued by this possible move, especially at a cut rate fee. The thing you can't fully create with a player is their physical dominance and speed. Coaching, system, drilling, and usage can change results dramatically though. For 20M it seems like low risk when you consider our finances and the alternatives that 20M gets you. I also see a scorer in there even if the results to date at Wolves were poor.

Evening Tommo, what were your thoughts on Jota before we bought him?

15.) 03 Dec 2021
03 Dec 2021 20:20:35
Hi MarkP08, we all loved Jota and I’m sure he will get a good reception tomorrow. Always technically good and worked so hard. However, as we evolved as a premier league team we began to play with our and out wingers which didn’t suit him as much. The emergence of Pedro Neto and the time left in his contract meant that he was at the ceiling of what he would have been worth financially to us so the move made sense for all parties.
I still enjoy it when he scores for you and feel proud that we helped his development for the 3/ 4 years he spent with us. However, dreading him scoring tomorrow. Twice the player Traore is!

said it before, but in my view he has everything in his locker to do well with Klopp. I have no idea about things like charachter, determination etc etc but would assume that if Klopp is after him then they must have done some sort of due diligence there.

but everything else - pace, direct, beat a man, can deliver a final. I really don't care that he has been inconsistent in another team, because so were loads of others before they came here. I prefer to know what they can do and then assess how coachable they are. I would be excited for Adama coming to Anfield.

19.) 04 Dec 2021
04 Dec 2021 09:01:42
Faithinworks he is NOT coachable, he has no brain. I’ve been at pitch level and he has to be instructed all the time by Moutinho and Semedo. When at Middlesbrough Pulis had to swap his wings at half time so he was by the dugout to receive constant instructions. Oh and he can’t deliver a final ball, he has no goals and no assists to speak of. He just runs and makes a poor decision.
Barcelona, Villa, Boro and Wolves have all tried to coach him based on what you’ve said but he just doesn’t have a brain. He will totally nullify TAA down that flank!
But by all means try, I’d love to see it and you will be entertained.

20.) 04 Dec 2021
04 Dec 2021 12:54:34
Yeah I wouldn't mind it tbh. For me what a player has done at whichever club and whichever manager is just part of their story. Whatever it takes to unlock a player and the environment that helps to do that, in a general sense is intriguing for me. Anyways, I'd welcome it if he were to come. In Jan it'd be ideal for him imo, as there'd be low expectations and he'd get a taste before hopefully getting a full pre-season in.

21.) 05 Dec 2021
05 Dec 2021 00:45:18
It's 2034 and the 38 year old Adama Traore races clear only to blast high and wide. Commentator: "if only he could add more goals and assists to his game, improve his passing and end product, he could be some player"

22.) 05 Dec 2021
05 Dec 2021 09:29:49
I would rather we did a Dortmund and buy the best young players to gradually nurture into the side, under the guidance of the many model pro's and amazing coaching staff that we have.
Mane needs some competition it seems, and there is no talk of his contract being renewed, so perhaps he is off for a final big move, so we really should be looking for his successor asap.

Do the Ed's have any idea as to which of our players Newcastle may be after? They can have a bundle deal, black friday special on Nat, Neco, the Ox and Div maybe?

23.) 05 Dec 2021
05 Dec 2021 12:24:05
If we're occasionally left with a threadbare squad due to injuries and we have AFCON coming up soon, where is the sense in selling 4 of our squad?

10 Dec 2021 07:10:20
I kinda hope we sign him just to read VVVV’s reaction to be honest!

{Ed025's Note - yeah that would be fun westwood mate..
