Believe this or not but I work with gareth bales good friend who has spoken to him and he has said Salah is nailed on to join Madrid in the summer, really hope this isn't true but I he has said truth in what bale has done in his career, joining spurs onloaan last year, rejecting China etc.

Have to clear out hazard, bale leaving frees up wages for him and Mbappe so potentially makes sense.

If we can’t afford what he’s demanding it is what it is, use the money on Jude.

I’ve missed these rumours.

Jude Bellingham isn’t going to score or create 30 goals a season, selling Salah and bringing in Bellingham would be dumb AF.

Feel like it’s time to move on now. If he thinks grass is greener time for him to go see. I doubt it will be.

Just feel his agent taking to socials etc is not what the team or the fans need at this time. I’d rather these personalities not be near the club in the long term.

Hey VVVV are you saying buying Bellingham would be dumb? Even if buying him is not in anyway related to what Mo does?

Agree Jordz. So annoying we just won a cup and should be taking about a quadruple but instead Salah or his agent has engineered that we talk about his contract instead. It can’t help us on the pitch at all and that’s all that matters right now. Wish he’d come out and say “I’m not talking about until the summer. In the meantime we have games to win. ”.

{Ed0666's Note - how has Salah engineered that we talk about his contract? Klopp was the one that broached the subject in the Brighton pre game press conference. To my knowledge Salah and Abbas haven’t spoken about the subject that much at all.

Bale wanted to go to China, it was Madrid that stopped it as they didn't want to give him away for free.

The contract that Salah turned down was in December.
It’s the middle of March, he’s been professional and giving 100% for the club every week.
We Can’t ask any Mo from Mo at the Mo 😂.

All this drama and worry is going to seem so silly the day Salah signs on.

Triple6 - you've obviously missed Salah's interview a few months where he openly talked about the contract situation, the agents tweet this time and a few months ago. If anyone is airing it out it's Salah and his team. And Klopp was asked a question about it. I guess he could say no comment, but that's not seemed to be his style.

Happy for Salah to go if that's what he wants to do. Didn't ed2 say Salah wants something similar to what Real Madrid laughed at a couple years ago? And if that's the case, why would they want to meet his demands 2-3 years later? If they do then good on them and good for him. I'm sure people will cry about how we're ever going to score another goal but we will be absolutely fine.

Ed002 might be able to prove me right or wrong here, But did Madrid not plan to sign players of Salah age for big transfer fees anymore after Hazard.
Personal I can see the rumbling on for another year and Salah long term plan is to become a free agent.

{Ed002's Note - Eden Hazard was 28 when he joined Real Madrid. They have specific targets and will, like all clubs, consider age as they would other attributes. There is absolutely no agreement for Salah to join Real Madrid in the summer.}

I think it’s the first time in many a year where if any player wants to go it’s not panic stations. We all hope Salah stays but as Eds1 eluded to on another thread as long as we have Klopp it’s ok.

13 Mar 2022 05:12:25
To be fair Ed0666, it’s the press who initiated the conversation at the press conference - I assume they thought we would beat Brighton so wanted to stir things up a bit.

{Ed0666's Note - we did and it did 😂. I agree with Ivan Drago about Mo Salah’s contract situation ‘If he signs he signs’. No seriously the guy is my absolute hero for footballing, humanitarian and philanthropic reasons and there’s not a footballer on the planet who is rather sign over Salah but the club has a wage structure and I would implore them to bend it as much as they can but not to the detriment of the team. If he’s head and shoulders financially then others are gonna start chirping and soon you are gonna have an unhappy dressing room and that will cause adverse affects on the pitch. Negotiations of this nature are protracted and I’m sure this is the end of the saga. I can only see two things happening in this scenario Salah extends his contract or he signs for PSG when Mbappe leaves for Madrid. If that is the case I have the utmost faith in award and Edwards to sign a decent replacement. Anthony, Raphina, Diaby etc etc.

FSG are masters of business, much more so than a two-bit agent.
They have had many experiences, which have formed their stance. If top wages is what Mo wants, he will, unfortunately need to leave.
What would we likely get for him with a year left on his contract? Enough for Raphina and Anthony?

15.) 13 Mar 2022
13 Mar 2022 18:42:07
Problem is- Anyone with that money to burn would be best off looking to the future and spending it on Raphina and Anthony! My bet is we’re going to end up out of pocket whatever happens.

I thought Edwards had handed over the reigns Ed?

{Ed0666's Note - I highly doubt he’s taking a backseat mate before he leaves. But you may be correct. I think he’d be in the nuts and bolts of the Salah situation tho. Furthermore I feel he has one parting gift for us tho.

I expect Salah will join PSG when Mbabbe leaves for Real Madrid. it would be a coup for PSG’s Qatari owners to have the best Muslim player in the world and currently one, if not the best overall, player in the world in their team. Would be very sad to lose him, wonderful player and a fantastic human being, but if he chooses to go, then best of luck to him.

{Ed002's Note - PSG have other specific targets.}

18.) 14 Mar 2022
14 Mar 2022 06:50:31
Can see him leaving as a free agent next summer. If players don’t want to stay the then fine but I doubt he will perform elsewhere like he does here. So many time players leave thinking the grass will be greener just to find they are no longer the superstar the team is built around. Either way we will be fine. No-one is irreplaceable.

longlivetheking - no club or owner signs a player based on their religion mate.
