I thought it was clear 2 days back when Klopp said he's numbers were crazy and not for us. That was clear hint he's agent was talking to us.

It's good to see top players at that level are interested coming it just shows how far we've come with Klopp.

It's time to start focusing on improving our commercial/ sponsorship deals which I'm hearing very soon will break our shirt sponsor deal in the world let's hope it's true.

Agree @LancasterRed. Obviously we look for talent but we also seem to look for the all round character of the person when assessing transfers these days. It seems to be working if that’s what we are actually doing.

I know how talented mbappe is, but a player like that just wouldn’t fit at Liverpool anyways. As fun as it was to imagine (even though I never really paid it any attention, especially with ed002 saying no chance), we are better off with a cohesive pressing unit, and a team that would individually sacrifice for each other. Mbappe isn’t that.

We'll never be a club that is going to pay those kinds of salaries. Our model is to pay the top tier salaries when they are into their third and/ or final contract with us.

Just to add to the mindboggling nature of Mbappe's deal - he's what 23 and will sign at least two more big deals in his career. Just think where that salary could go!

A similar story for Haaland and to a lesser extent Sancho - you can count the number of clubs that can afford to pay 21 year olds 300k+ pw and plan for those escalating salaries on one hand -with missing fingers.

Mbappe will cost in the area of around 200 Million for the duration of his 3 year extension. This is one fifth (approx. ) the cost of purchasing an EPL club (mid to lower table) .
