Ed Any insight on the Nunez signing read just now that Liverpool are ready smash their signing record and bid for him?

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you are expecting? I am not aware of any €100M bid having been made, but Liverpool may well look toward an offer. An offer from elsewhere including a player has been rejected.}

Nunez this year and Bowen next would be big statements . Sadio and Mo get their big wedge elsewhere and we get two top quality players at big prices.

I don't think Nunez is Top Quality! An expensive mistake more like!

Hi Ed002

With regards to Benfica and Nunez, are they looking for a payment in full or could structured payments be an option?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Benfica have a debt in respect of their owing more on players than they are owed for sales, and are keen to clear that differece. They also need to sell players in order to buy and will look for as much of any transfer fee as possible in cash as a single payment. They realise that it is an unrealistic expectation with the exception of a few sides who could do that. As such, they will look for as much upfront as they can and and then payments spread over a couple of years or so.}

Malak surely it's worth trusting our recruitment team?

Would be a top quality signing this and i'd have the confidence to say he will match, if not better Haalands numbers at City, it would suit us down to the ground having payments spread out and if we can add a top class attacking mid, wide or right side we will of had a great window.

Think you could be right spaceman. Only problem is if Bowen renews his contract at West Ham as that would push the price up.

Other than watching 2 games, where he looked very impressive in the second game, I've not seen enough of him - Nunez. Has anyone watched him for more than say 10 games and can give us a bit of a summary of his strengths and weaknesses please?

Personally I’d suggest Nunez is exactly what we need. Fast, strong, can hold ball up and good in the air for our excellent wing backs and wingers crosses.

He has a lot better goals to shots ratio than any of our strikers for last season.

@warmachine73: good point! what you have to say though is that he took all of his goals against us very clinically.

We need a striker who will bury those chances on a more consistent basis- we drew 8 games last season and in the majority of those draws we looked back on wasted chances, IF and its a big IF Nunez is the real deal and we have a chance to sign him, we must take that chance in my humble opinion of course.

@LancasterRed, it seems Benfica want to pay off some of their debt and would appear to want a hefty chunk of the money up front.

Reminds me of Fernando Torres when i've watched him.

VVD said he gave him the hardest game he had all of last season and he knows a bit about defending, I think he’d do veryvwell for us, he’s physically built for the premier league and he’s not afraid to put himself about a bit, as well as being a very good player, the goals he scored against us weren’t tap ins but a result of good movement, decent reading of the game and good finishing. We’ll be able to watch him grow into a world class performer under Klopp if we sign him.

If we can snag ourselves Bowen in a years time of Salah goes on a free then that would be good work.

Nunez is the ideal refresh. He impressed me more than Diaz did.

He is that Torres like forward we need to evolve. Every year we tweak the side and offer a new threat. An actual target man (who does well wide) might be exactly what we need.

We lose Divvy, Taki and Mane and have added Nunez, Carvalho and Diaz (effectively) .

We also lose Ox, Neco and Nat…. might we be looking for a few HG. I wouldn’t discount a steady Eddie like McGinn or Ward-Prowse. Not every player need to be Thiago…. an 8 who scores free kicks and plays 40 games might be an option.

If we add Ramsey and a reliable no.8/ 6 who can actually stay fit then we are absolutely set next year.

Darwin Nunez will be one of the best strikers in the world. He has everything.
I think he’s already a better player than Haaland who people seem to rave about.
I’ve been saying this for months. I expected him to end up at Utd or Chelsea but if we can nab him I’ll be ecstatic. The lad has so much potential.
