Hi Ed's 002.

This is not to patronise you for your good work. I was reading the Darwin Nunez transfer on here and I hope we do sign him, but you have stated previously "I wouldn't hold your breath" was he close to sign for another club? and if you don't mind which club would that had been?

Thanks again.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United but things have changed.}

I think things change so fast in the world of football . I vaguely remember Willian was on the verge of Spurs then it was us then ended up at Chelsea . I’d imagine this is a regular thing must be so hard for the Ed’s to keep up to date with it all never mind us that aren’t involved in the game.

Thanks Ed002 really happy to hear this. Certainly he could have gotten higher wages at MU or NU. Sounds like player who is keen to work with Klopp and play for the best side on merseyside.

Ed2, do you happen to know anything of Nunez’s aspirations, for example you told us for a good few years that Salah has been hawked around by his agent as there were thoughts about him becoming the new poster boy for one of the Spanish giants. Has Nunez expressed his ‘dream’ to play for Madrid etc, would be nice to know that he doesn’t see us as a stepping stone.

{Ed002's Note - My understanding is he is a pleasant and humble young man who will work hard to fit in. I know he has spoken with two Uruguayan players who have played in the Premier League and, whilst it may take a little time to settle, I expect it will work out well.}

We do have a nice south american contingent to help him settle.

An expert from Portugal had this to say re Darwin.

Operating in small spaces where touch is key is where he will struggle, for example holding the ball up right in between two centre-backs or in a tight area where the touch-and-run will not be an option.

Interesting.
