Acered, I believe it’s spelled rabiot ?.

4.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 07:51:30
Are we officially nominating 21 year old Curtis Jones as our new whipping boy then? Best if we get it straight as early as we can.

5.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 08:12:53
Lad's give Curtis a break?.

6.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 08:20:29
I like Curtis Jones but remains to be seen if he steps up. hope he does. No whipping boy for me.

7.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 08:32:30
I predict a riot. Why not let the manager decide if players are good enough and we as fans just support all the players. If they’re not good enough the manager will let them leave or not play them.

As long as they do their best. If that’s not enough then support them until they leave.

Crazy idea huh everyone….

The injury records of 5 of our MF's suggests that a new signing is essential, and Sangare can play more than one position, including covering for Fab.
I hope this one happens.

9.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 09:23:33
Essential? Only if you're desperate for more transfers.
While an upgrade on players is always a good thing, we have youngsters that could be on the verge of a breakout season.
It'll come down to whether Klopp thinks they're ready, or if someone leaves.

10.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 09:28:05
I’ve need to sign two midfielders really, as I think I read somewhere that we’ve never really replaced Gini.

11.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 09:28:29
176 ??.

12.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 10:41:47
Don't hold your breath WDW we've still to replace Xabi Alonso.

13.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 10:45:07
And we'll NEVER replace Steven Gerrard.
FSG out!

14.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 10:56:34
Get a grip guys. we obviously need a midfielder. older midfield and fairly injury prone. Some of you are very precious. I'm not giving Curtis a hard time but he is yet to prove he's the man for the job. Great if he does prove it mind and as someone said, klopp will decide but that doesn't mean we are not allowed an opinion.

15.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 12:15:14
Imagine having to prove your the man for the job when your a 21 year old kid ?.

16.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 13:18:37
Last time I checked 21 made you a man my friend. irrelevant comment imo. If you're good enough, you are old enough.

17.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 13:24:35
How do you prove yourself if the club signs someone to play in your place?

18.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 14:05:42
Why do we always have to denigrate a player.
Jones is a really good prospect. He has performed well in some games, brilliantly in others and has had quiet games.

He’s a young player who is not getting consecutive games to develop rhythm in one of the worlds toughest leagues…yeah, let’s dig him out.

Do some of you actually like this team? I’ve supported this team for over 35 years and this is the best team/ squad/ manager/ win ratio/ style of play we have had in that time? What is it you actually hope for? Win every game 5-0 and have three first teams worth of fantasy league players?

This is as good as it will ever be. Seriously lads, just enjoy it.

19.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 18:11:58
Why o why. no one is slating Jones. its a discussion, stop trying to score imaginary points. We all have opinions and that's it. No one is slagging Jones but offering an opinion. It's tiresome listening to some of the bs.

20.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 18:15:08
Why o why. man that post sucks. it really does. Absolute rubbish. Nothing to do with what was posted. Odd.

21.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 20:28:17
Yeah, imagine asking for fans to cut their own players some slack and enjoy this phenomenal side safe in the knowledge that the club and manager know what they are doing.

The audacity.

22.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 21:19:59
Look. I think Curtis Jones has what it takes. His biggest challenge will be getting a run of games.

You've got to be top drawer to displace Fab, Thiago and Hendo.

Those people who think Hendo is past it etc can do one. Been a giant these last few yrs.

Let's just enjoy seeing this awesome crop of Jones, Elliot amd Carvalho battle it out.

Not many teams have better youngsters than us.

Here's to another season of joy. and another pre season of nonsense rumours and opinions.

23.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 23:25:32
We have quantity in midfield not qualify. Madrid and City are the only 2 teams better than us and from our midfield wether it be injury problems or quality the only player either would take is Fabinho and even then he wouldn’t start over Rodri or Casemiro. If we don’t get a midfielder this season we’ll need 2 minimum next season With Milner Ox and Keita all moving on. Just seems like we’re giving ourselves a lot extra work to do in a years time.

I think there is a tendency to regard kids coming through the youth system as mainly transfer fodder to finance ‘stars’ from other clubs. There have - as everyone can see - some belters who have come through the system like, God, Steve McManaman, Stevie G and Trent but the number who push on through to the really top levels have, historically, been a very small percentage of the academy intake. I think that is changing - slowly - but at an accelerating rate due in no small part to FSG and the development of the new training facility at Kirby I believe (or at least have very high hopes) that the model we have put in place will serve us well and part of that will be to ‘blood’ young players in the cup competitions, pre-season etc. That being the case I’d rather see us move from buying a ‘fully finished article’ like Naby for instance to - where possible - promoting from within.

As an aside - but to the point - England have just won the European U-19 Championships. We had three players in the squad (Harvey Davies, Luke Chambers and Jarell Quansah) and I think I’m right in saying young Quansah played in all the matches, scoring in the semi and Luke Chambers also got onto the pitch a couple of times as a sub (including the final) .

We might just be showing signs that we are starting to deliver in terms of youth development and if we are we need (as fans) to have a bit of faith in the club to do the right thing and promote from within were we have a player of genuine promise and not just rush into the market at the drop of a hat.

Why o why. again, zero relevance.

03 Jul 2022 09:12:14
Well now you’re just being obtuse.
