Hi Ed's . any of you heard that we're looking to offload Curtis jones? Sorry for the random question but my mate who's a villa supporter is adamant stevie wants him at villa. I thought they were after ox myself ??.

We have an ageing midfield in Hendo and Thiago, why would anyone want to get rid of Curtis Jones as a backup in case of injuries, he's improving not going backwards, personally if i had the choice of Phillips or Curtis i would prefer Curtis all the time, Curtis is far more skilful, he needs experience to develop, but he's a top class replacement in case of injuries, he's certainly the equal of Keita, who has been a flop.

@007 I think you mean well but it is ok to just like Curtis Jones and want him to stay and continue progressing with us. Not sure why you bring Phillips (a centre back) into it and you even say Curtis is equal to a flop as if it's a good thing.

He is a fine young midfielder, one we should definitely keep.

Seán I think he might mean Kalvin Phillips. Though not sure I'd have Jones at his level just yet. Jones has the potential to be better than Phillips for sure (he's a good quality English midfielder sure, but don't see him improving city in any way) . But Jones also is just as likely to play a handful of games for a few seasons and dissappear like so many others. Up to him to work hard and take his chances.

Can’t see Jones leaving. He and Elliot are the future of our midfield. Milner’s coming to the end and Hendo won’t be far behind him. I personally like the Ox as a player hqiwcan play the two supporting mid positions and all across the front line well enough to say he should be kept, and certainly Keita would be offloaded before Ox was. One of Bobby or Jota should go as both of them are central players and not effective out wide so there’s no need for both of them.

Jones had the best pass competition rate in the squad last season, however, he holds onto the ball for too long, which slows down and prohibits free flowing footy at times.

Spaceman you have got it spot on. there is a player in Jones but at the moment slows the play up so needs to learn quickly or will not make it at Liverpool.
