Are the club / Klopp still interested in Otavio from FC Porto or has interest now moved on?

{Ed002's Note - Otavio (RM) Liverpool have sustained interest and something may be possible but they need to decide where funds need to be allocated - and he could be another they store in the memory for next summer. Manchester United see him as a useful midfield addition, but cannot offer CL football. Leeds are keen but again the lack of CL foootball might hinder a transfer. Aston VIlla did make an offer but it was well short of what Porto would be willing to consider and again the lack of CL football would make it unattractive to the player unless their project could be sold to him. Porto have identified the fixed cost to buy him this summer.}

He would be at his peak. We bought Thiago around the same age. Players don't fall off the cliff at 30 as many many have shown.

Sorry my point was that we do not usually do that. Thiago is the only exception and arrived as a CL and Bundesliga double winner.

Doesn’t seem a FSG sort of signing, age and cost wise. Thiago was clearly an exception. We tend to go for young players with bags of potential or those coming into their prime in their early to mid 20’s. Octavio looks like a very useful player but I’m not sure he’s starter material. The only real signing we could make now to improve the swift would be a good quality Defensive midfield that would be happy to be cover/ rotated as Kostas does at LB.
