Hi Ed002, Klopp has said that he won't dip into the market for just any midfielder. Completely agree with this strategy. I'm probably reading too much into it but from latest interviews it seems they are still trying but struggling to get the players they want for that position

Let's put the unreasonable targets like Bellingham aside. He s not happening this month. Dortmund are not going to deal him now.

Is there any deal that could be possible if (big if) Liverpool push. Guess I'm looking for players where there is interest and a deal could be struck.

Sangare and laimer are two from a recent list you provided that spring to mind. Would it be possible to do a deal for them at this late stage? Any other player for the midfield that Liverpool have shown decent amount of interest and deal with club could be done be close of window?

{Ed002's Note - Sangare has signed a new contract. Laimer will almost certainly not move until next summer. Marcelo Brozovic might be a possibility.}

Can’t ever see Bellingham ever happening plus we will need 3/ 4 mids next season.

We should have a look at Nunes at Sporting, he looks a decent player. Gets about the park, tackles and presses for fun, decent technique.

Has anyone watched this guy and know what his strengths and weaknesses are?

I agree on Nunes 6 times but lots of trusted sources like Paul Joyce and Ed002 before him have said interest from Liverpool is minimal. Anything can change of course but it seems unlikely.

Brozovic is an excellent player too. Slightly older than I'd prefer but an excellent player.

Btw guys for the last 10 or so seasons there has been a Croatian in every Champions League winning team. Extra incentive to go for Brozovic haha.

If this midfield stays as it is we are gambling with our top 4 position never mind trying to win things. Our strongest midfield last season couldn't beat Madrid or any of the top 4 teams home or away . Yes we finished a point behind city last season but are unwillingness to improve has let other teams get stronger. All we have done is replace mane an neco Williams but not the real weakness.

I like Brozovic but isn't he currently out injured with a calf muscle injury which has been recurring for about 4 or 5 years?

Brozovic would be some signing.

Wouldn’t that make him a perfect fit for our midfield then MK? Haha.

Pretty sure Brozovic signed a new contract in the summer and at 29 turning 30 this year, he’s not worth it as we’ve enough players at that end of the age range. Plus he’s injured at the moment and we’ve enough injured players to cope with.

Brozovic isn’t the legs we need unfortunately.

Ed have we in any way enquired about Brozovics availability?

{Ed002's Note - options.
Marcelo Brozovic (DM/CM) was to become a Free Agent this summer but signed a new four year contract, but it is still possible that he could be sold if a very good offer were made. As a Free Agent he was attractive to Newcastle, PSG and Spurs. Considered as a potential Matic replacement by Manchester United. Would provide good cover for Liverpool who have been approached by a third party. I expect him to stay where he is.}

McSalah SG I am pretty sure we had no Croatians when we beat Spurs a few years ago.

Brozovic would be a great stop gap whilst our young new No6 matures into a first teamer.
We need someone to compete with Fab as well as fill in the gaps.
