Guy’s, it’s being reported that Ref Oliver has been suspended indefinitely, after the match against next door.

Anyone got anything on this?

By suspended you mean given a brown envelope a big pat on the back from mr webb and mr coote with guarantee of refereeing more title decides this season? Someone is pulling your leg.

There’s nothing in it. But if you did want to see how rubbish PGMOL are, do note that the referee for Liverpool v City is Anthony Taylor from Manchester. A known United supporter. PGMOL isn’t fit for purpose.

One thing I’ll give him credit for, it takes some effort to be the most unlikeable Mr Oliver in a country where Jamie exists.

Long gone are the days when a good referee wasn't even noticeable on the pitch. Now most games they are the talking points even with video review to bail them out.

Just to add, if Ed’s has knowledge on this would appreciate input - Is there still a case (reported YouTube), regarding the Ref and Notts Forest game? If so any idea when it’s going to be addressed? Infantano I believe has stated LFC should get the 3 points.

What’s the possible outcome in your opinion Ed?

Do you see the possibility of similar happening (case) regarding Oliver (as he now suspended indefinitely) for similar reasons?

{Ed001's Note - I really have no idea what you are talking about. Oliver has been heavily criticised but Webb has publicly backed him and, unless something has changed in the last few hours, he is in charge of Villa - Chelsea at the weekend.}

It’s amazing how laissez-faire the FA and the Premier League are regarding the sub-standard state of referees in English football. Since VAR was introduced, referees have got worse instead of better.

Is it endemic of the level of corruption throughout football, where nobody wants to cast the first stone?

A United supporter reffing a City v Liverpool game? Who does he favour there Viktor?

I’d imagine Taylor would still put hating Liverpool over City, Irish. We live rent free in their heads.

It's listed online that he's a Newcastle fan. So still a United fan but a different United.

@Dracred, it's Oliver that is the Newcastle fan. Taylor apparently supports Altrincham, despite being born 6 miles from Old toilet.

Michael Oliver is a Newcastle United fan, Anthony Taylor claims to support Altrincham, which is about as plausible as David Cooke’s apology or Darren England’s VAR excuse for the spurs debacle, he’s a United fan, no one can tell me that a manc who grew up within 5 or 6 miles of old toilet during their so called glory days isn’t one.

Taylor is not a known man utd supporter, where do ye get this ?, he has regularly reffed utd games and they actually hate him and say his decisions continuously go against them, Had a lad just say it to me in work today.

{Ed001's Note - isn't his family all City season ticket holders?}

Ed1 is that libellous? Lol.

{Ed001's Note - I am pretty sure I read somewhere his family are City season ticket holders but it is claimed he is an Altrincham fan. I am just unconvinced by either as there is no way a whole family has City season tickets, it would double their actual gate if they did. Probably more chance of him really being an Altrincham fan than there is of his family having City season tickets.}

Regardless of who the referee supports, you should never have anyone from the same city refereeing the teams in the same city for example it's like international games fancy england playing scotland with an english referee and vice versa!

Apply it that Taylor does not referee any city or man utd game full stop. London refs don't referee London teams home or away, and the teams they support. oliver does not referee newcastle games or the team he supports. Same applies to linesmen/ fourth officials, even VAR.

PMGOL too tight to pay for match officials from other countries.

Ahh, got it. I thought we were all talking about Oliver. Didn't realise that Taylor got snuck into the conversation as well. Have to admit that I don't really pay attention to who is the referee to our games though. They're all equally poor.
