I don't know if it'll come to anything, but we have definitely made inquiries about the very young Gioacchino Barranco.

Young LB. Interest in multiple young LB options (Kerkez, Hato, Barranco etc) would indicate the club don't see a future for Owen Beck. Shame if that is the case as he had a good loan spell at Blackburn. Got to be ruthless though, as we failed to push on last time we won the title and that can't be allowed to happen again. Klopp's only real weakness as a manager was his excessive loyalty to his players. Although that was also one of his greatest strengths in his defence as he got players like Milner, Robertson, Henderson, Origi etc to play several levels above what they were capable of because they'd have ran through brick walls for him.

Spot on MK, sparkly reversing klopp and his loyalty.

Does that necessarily mean that Beck is out MK? What if he replaces Robertson after next season? Not saying you’re wrong, but we need 2 LB’s surely? Going forwards, couldn’t Beck be one of them?

Thing is FootyFan, is Beck is 22 now. He’s at an age where he needs to be playing. If we sign a LB and a CB who can play there, I think it makes it very hard for him. But albeit not impossible.

Fair enough MK.

I don't think Henderson, Milner and especially Robbo deserve to be put in the same bracket as Origi, as much as I loved him. Milner has already had an excellent career before he got to us; Henderson is highly rated by his peers and Robbo has been one of the greatest LB's in the world, ad one of our greatest ever. Beck isn't good enough, it's important to know that. If Beck came in for Robbo the drop off would be stark.

I'm not putting them in the same bracket as Origi, I was pointing out that Klopp got more out of all of them than any manager did before or after him. There are a lot of examples of it throughout Klopp's illustrious career. He could get the absolute maximum out of a player because in many cases they were so loyal to him because he put full faith in them through thick and thin. That's the only thing they have in common though. Robertson and Henderson were both better than Milner, and Milner was better than Origi. The comparison was in the maximisation of their output, not their ability levels.

Milner had an excellent career. He was a title winner at City and exceptionally well regarded at every club he played for. Your assessment of him is nonsense.

I stand by it Why0why, I still think Klopp got the best out of him. He was good at Leeds, Villa and Newcastle. Then went on to be a solid player at City but they let him go for free. Their loss though because he was exceptional for Liverpool despite being at the wrong end of his career for a lot of his time with us. I believe he still holds the record for the most assists in a single CL campaign and he did that in a Liverpool shirt. He was a very good player hence why we singed him in the first place, but Klopp took him to another level in my opinion. You're entitled to your own views though.

Juliane can come play for Liverpool ladies.
