Dirk Kuyt in the frame to replace Johnny Het, apparently.
What does anyone make of that?

Nice guy, gave it all with us. Don't know about his coaching credentials but he will use this opportunity to learn from slot and make the grade for himself.
Hardworking player, no idea as a trainer/ coach.

Nah, I think they’ll just pick a name out of a hat. Alternatively, the people who selected Slot will work with Arne to select the best option. After all that’s what they did with JH.

He is already a manager isn’t he for beerschot? Would he leave a manager job for an assistant?

well slots first choice was Marino Pusic he didn't come because he was the manager of Shaktar Donestk he has left them now so would make sense.

I seem to remember Kuyt being good friends/ doing his coaching badges with arne/ sipke, might be a good fit if they see him as being good enough to make that step. I also seem to remember that Kuyt is now a head coach though? Would he want to take up an assistant job?

I'd welcome him back. Great bloke.

Very bad in coaching and has changed in several ways, personality, looks, etc, since he played for Liverpool. I think Arne Slot is smart enough not to take hin onboard.

Kuyt said in an interview earlier this month that he was likely to be leaving this summer. The club have been relegated (after promotion in his first season) and don't appear to have money for players or even a training pitch most recently!
Really good training ground for Dirk with a number of former colleagues around him.

I’ve met Dirk Kuyt. Absolute gent. One of the nicest down to earth professional footballers I have ever met. Don’t know if you is a good coach though.

I believe it is the guy who had work permit issues last year that will take the role not any ex players.

@Franklyred - he’s changed his “looks”?
So what? He’s about 10 years older since he left us, I’d be surprised if he didn't look a little different although I don’t see what bearing that had on his coaching ability?

You mean Etienne Reijnen? Has he completed his coaching badges now?

Regardless of if Kuyt is suited or not. I was thinking about old players the other day. What an engine Kuyt has and never moaned about what role or position he was asked to play, as far as I know he didn't anyway.

I think we might have a few coaching positions open this summer. If I recall there is some movement in the academy too.

Yes Shipley most likely to be him.
