I don't know how true this is but it does cone from someone connected to Newcastle.

Apparently Isak has indicated he would like to move to Anfield but he is also happy to stay were he is. Wages are not an issue.

I think, just like most on here that a deal for Isak is impossible. Yet I can't help but also think this still has legs to run. With the way we are moving, you just never know.

Something my granddad use to say to me was "nothing is impossible, its just difficult".

Interesting, he would be unbelievable. Personally I would love us to sign Alvarez.

But for this first part of the window I would be over the moon to get Wirtz and Kerkez in through the door too.

As long as he is happy to stay where he is, he isn't moving.

For the price being talked about, it is probably better to try to identity the next Isak.

I think he’d come to Liverpool if we pushed for him.
I do believe Newcastle are on the up, but the size of the clubs are worlds apart.
He Probably gives it one more season then he’s off 100%.

Slot said - we can't carry 3 Salah's. Isak would the 2nd if he joins.

for the same reason, I don't think Isak will work out for us.

He is good but we he will not fit us.

Roughly translated, he wants to move to Liverpool but doesn’t want to burn his bridges with Newcastle in case the move doesn’t happen.

Too risky with the fee and injury management.

I’d rather go for 2 x £60m level strikers with less injury concerns and probably similar combined wages.

Agree with robbo. If he said he is happy at Newcastle also, that's Isak completely out of the running for me.

“Apparently Isak has indicated he would like to move to Anfield but he is also happy to stay were he is. ”

You’re not exactly breaking some news there mate. I wouldn’t want to say that is probably true, which is why it’s hard to make a deal as Newcastle don’t need to sell now.

Isak is a quality player but he does miss a lot of games through injury.

Indicating he is interested is something new Navy ?.

I agree he's probably staying where he is. The fee and Newcastle being in the CL make it so. That being said, I wouldn't be surrpised if we tried tho ?

I think the striker is Vlahovic anyway.

Vlahovic wouldn't be more exciting than wirtz, doesn't seem to have good pace which seems what slot is after, id rather retegui over him, could he be an option now that gasperini has left the club?

If Osimhen values spending his peak years with / in one of the best football clubs / projects in the world, he has only one choice from the aleged suitors.

I’d be happy to move to move to Anfield, but I’m also happy where I am now ?.

You would think Isak would be jumping at the chance to join us, a realistic shot at winning the big two trophies and playing alongside Wirtz and Salah. If he’s not that bothered then good luck to him.

Can’t see Nunez getting another season from Slot, but maybe his transfer is to help fund Wirtz.

So if Wirtz happens, which seems generally accepted as opportunistic (eg: previously unplanned for), do you think the compromise might be we stick with what we’ve got left up top…

Has Chiesa ever played CF?

Isak is expensive, injury prone and just qualified Newcastle for the UCL. Kindly let us move our speculations to other seemingly possible deals. I don't see LFC spend over £100m on 2 players in a transfer window. The probability is very low.

My thoughts exactly. I had to register to agree with you because people thinking we'll get Isak need to use their heads. Newcastle are as wealthy as City, you ain't getting their top players, unless they force their way out, or you pay well over their value. We don't need him that much to go into long negotiations, making offers. For example Wirtz wants to come but it still takes a lot of time to come to an agreement. And we have a lot more work to do in this window without wasting our time on Isak.

Pure guessing on my behalf but something tells me we will go for isak and I think he would like to come to us, why wouldn't he we are the best team in the country and he's at a age where he will be thinking where he wants to play at his peak and where better in England at the minute than lfc.
From lfc point of view it risky with the price it will be and his previous injury record but where else do u go if alvarez doesn't want to live in England? V slim pickings for a striker unless u get somebody completely under rader, evanilson would be my next pick but how expensive will he be and he quite raw, although I do think he would do well for us.

Isak missed 4 league games this season and played more minutes than every Lfc player except Salah and Virg.

That is as injury prone as they come.
