Unfortunately we're in a situation were the supporters recognise and want top quality signings. But the reality is the club doesn't have the finance or the chance of winning silverware that will attract big name players. Our owners cannot compete with the likes of City and Chelsea. We must integrate our best youth players into the team. What I can't understand is how the management expected Balotelli and Lambert to fit into system that was clearly geared to fast mobile players who exploited pockets of space and could play across the front areas. Why didn't keep Ibe and play him and Sterling on the wings? We could have played a system that kept the full backs in check to keep the defence compact and allowed us to play either Lambert or Balotelli as a traditional striker being supplied from wide areas.
