60 years ago today at 3:04pm the Buzby Babes died in a horrendous air disaster. We share no love on the pitch but today share your pain and all our heroes never walk alone #YNWA.

RIP - Football is only a game.

Rivalries should never extend beyond the field and some reasonably clean banter between rival fans, colleagues, friends and family.

Anything further than that and we're not a fan of the same club or it's principles.

Sir Matt Busby is a true great for overcoming such a horrendous disaster so quickly. Liverpool still haven't recovered from Hillsborough. A tragedy like those, shocks everyone associated to the very core and Busby is an absolute legend of the sport for how he revived Manchester United.

RIP to the Busby babes. Gone but never forgotten.

It's best put in the the great man's words: “it also opened a lot of peoples eyes to how the fans hatred has destroyed what everyone believed were unbreakable bonds between United and Liverpool – sure there was intense rivalry but no hatred – Liverpool had a place in United hearts because as soon as it was announced we would carry on after Munich, (many thought we would fold) Liverpool were straight in and offered United the pick of their reserve team and any other help we might need – Forest were the only other club to offer help. ” Bill Shankly.

Matt Busby is also a true great for being a former captain of Liverpool Football Club. God bless all those who died that day.

Respect guys much appreciated. Rivalry goes out the window in tragic events such as Munich air disaster and hillsborough. They have shaped our clubs and are ingrained in the DNA even to this day. That is what makes our clubs so special.

In addition to all those that lost their lives people should equally remember Captain James Thain who spent a decade and beyond trying to clear his name.

The search for truth and justice on his behalf should equally resonate with Liverpool fans as much as the tragic loss of life of the accident itself.

RIP to those who perished and our thoughts to all those who were affected by the disaster.

I would say Manchester United being huge competitors on field are very good club, a common people s club!
We should never be enemies beyond the football field!

Yes, Shankly was wrong when he said football is more than life and death. It's juts a game to allievate our everyday life.
