Firstly I'd like to pass on my regards to Salah the poster hope to see you back on here soon .
Onto last night how good was it to win a match ugly. Thought Milner stood up to be counted when it mattered getting in Palace faces. Becker looks the business. VVD was a rock. Both incidents involving Salah thought the ref called correctly. Over the first 2 fixtures we've seen 2 different Liverpool performances both claiming the points. Long may it continue.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m sure Salah will appreciate your words mate. I have to disagree I didn’t think Milner had a good game and was below par.

Similar to the Burnley game at Turf moor last season, its the kind of game title winning man u constantly won. They would look bad, opponent looking likely, the bam the rotters would pull it out. We played well for the first 30 mins but didn't have the killer finishing. Keita's effort was esily dealt with, he should have squared to Mane for tap in. Salah chance that Keita created I will never understand why he didn't round the keeper.

That palace side did play their hearts out too, Henessey, Sakho, Van aanholt, Wam bisaku, Townsend all exceeded their usual standards. I think we can hope for improvements and be happy with a clean sheet and 3 points.

That palace side is good.

I didn't think they had a top 8 team but they have some very good players.

There is no easy prem game. Away st a ground like that.

Years and years and years and years on and on I watched United and said this is finally the year there crap, there awful, 118th minute up pops some nob head from the academy no-one has ever heard of and they win again.

It's important that when the team are as uncoordinated as they where last night that the defence stands up and boy oh boy dies it.

The other thing is, did you see how much better we looked when the captain came on, everyone new were they needed to be, and heist started dictating the game like he had never been away.

We still have fab for the middle aswel and an attack that was firing on all cylinders this early last year aswel.

I believe it will be manes form for the first 6/ 7 games then firmino and Salah will come into his own around November. Just a feeling, similar to last year.

Appreciate the reply Ed0333. I meant Milner stood out more as a presence on the pitch when it was getting niggly. Our football was better when Hendo came on. One thing Milner can never be accused of is hiding or not giving his all.

{Ed0333's Note - I agree mate but yesterday Milner was just a body and slipped from his recent high standards, although he scored. Listen it was a bad day at the office for most of the team yesterday and im sure Klopp will have had a word and we’ll learn. Klopp alluded to it in the press about the wing backs have to do more and he’s right TAA is squandering some great situations with aimlessness, and that has to improve as the season goes on.

There was one instance where taa overhit a cross because he chose to hit it on the half volley with power. He was in acres of space to get the ball down too. Completely baffled me that.

You can only play as well as your opponents let you and I though Palace were really good. We were still good enough to win it though and away from home at Selhurst Park it’s not to be sniffed at. I liked the fact that Milner may not have had his best game, but in the circumstances I felt he stood up to grit it out when Palace was threatening to get back in the game. He didn’t take a step backwards and then tucked away the penalty like it was a Sunday park game.

I was wrong about him when he first came in, I wasn’t sure he would be best in midfield and thought he would be better out wide, but he’s getting better and better IMO.

I tend to agree with Ed0333, but I don't think it's something to worry about. Milly will have better games, but it's probably time to give Hendo a start anyway.

{Ed0333's Note - the positive for me is that we have options now, and we can replace players who are sub par. Nor many had a good game Monday night so hopefully we’ll get our swag back and get some impetus in the next few games.
