3 wins in our last 9 games - says it all really. I suppose IF we beat the mighty Fulham at the weekend we'll be a great team again and genuine title contenders.

In my opinion we have played really well in only 3/4 games and have escaped with wins against teams who should have beat us (e. g. Huddersfield) . We will struggle to qualify out of this group.

Call me negative or whatever, but the truth is since our great start to the season the wheels seem to have come off now.

I agree the wheels have came off slightly. but we're still undefeated and in the race for premier league.
we will still qualify for knockouts of champs league and we will either win the prem or at least pish city to the last few weeks.

Have faith mate.

I think we should all take a breath. I didn't watch the game, but red stars record at home is pretty good. To say the wheels have come off is a bit of an over statement. Qualification is still in our hands with 1 home game to play. Whilst we haven't been playing blistering football, we are unbeaten in the league having played city, Chelsea, arsenal and spurs. No one was calling for the "brain" before tonight and no one will be when we win next.

Can't believe people think we will win the league.

Just watch the performances and that should answer the question.

Red star conceded 10 in the last 2 games in CL, and have never won a CL game.

{Ed025's Note - not great dean i admit, poor performance but still well in the mix mate..

KBL if you are going to be negative, at least be accurate. We have lost a measly 3 out of 16 games (10 wins and 3 draws) and the wheels are falling off? How do you work that out exactly? I suggest you take a deep breathe and tone down the negativity levels a couple of notches cos tho, we are in a bit of a sticky patch (hmm, pretty sure no other team in history has had that), we are still in control of our destiny in the CL group and in the PL. Oh and btw should be beat Fulham, we will NOT be a great team again as that is not how that works. It would only mean we won a game and hope to win the next one. That is all.

{Ed025's Note - im with you brover..

The wheels have not come off.
Klopp wants to win something this year. He wants to win either the league or champions league. He wants us to stay competitive without blowing a gasket by March.
He wants to peak in spring when all the medals are handed out. You don’t win anything for topping the CL group. Second is sufficient, it’s all about progressing.
This defeat has not derailed our season, it’s essentially a game we could afford to lose.
Am I happy about it? No!
Would I rather lose this game than a league game? Absolutely!

{Ed025's Note - you cant be happy ron, but the one thing i will agree on is that it is still in your own hands mate..

We don’t have a divine right to win but Klopp is trying to give us the best chance.

I don't think it's a game we could afford to lose when we play Psg and Napoli next. For me it was vital we won.

Its not just the loss! But the way we have been playing recently!

As I wrote above the wheels 'seem' to have come off. AF is right - it's the way we have been playing that worries me.

I have been on here after most games we have managed to win even though we didn't play particularly well and read all the comments about how it's a good sign to win even though the performances were not up to scratch and when we click etc, etc.

We are still waiting to click in my opinion. We are not playing well either. Our midfield is being outplayed almost every game, and we are for some reason playing a lot more long ball football. This is clear to see.

For me last night was the game to win in this group at this stage because the last 2 games will be very tough to get through.

Ron - I think Klopp has wanted to win something every season he has been here. He didn't take us to 3 finals not wanting us to win!

I remember you losing your mojo after one of the recent derby games because of Klopp's tactics etc., so I am allowed to show concern right now over what I am seeing from us on the pitch. When was the last time any of us has come on this forum after a gae and praised the way we have played this season? Maybe 3/ 4 times out of 16 matches.

All well and good saying that Klopp is trying to manage us through till the "crucial" section of the season but what if we AREN'T in the running by that point? We have very difficult games to get out the UCL group now against Napoli and Psg away - never mind thinking about the run in at the end of the season.

That’s the point George, we are in the running.

George, and what if we ARE? See how that works? We simply don't know so you and I are going to have to wait and see what happens in the hope that things change for the better. Also, you are aware that LFC can get 95 points in the PL and still not win it, right? Yeah, that is what we are up against with City so as Ron said, we have no devine right to win as much as a sausage. You are going to have to fight for the right to first off, compete and then a chance to win. Ron is speaking a lot of sense and I agree with him. Cheers, mate!
