Ed001 the fact we played Gini as a 9 for 80minutes v Barcelona even though we had Shaqiri Sturridge and Origi on the bench, does that not say that we need another forward option up top, and do you think we look to sign another Striker in the summer?

{Ed001's Note - it also says that the 2 players Klopp would like for that role were not ready. Brewster has been promised game time, I expect him to get it next season to be groomed as a long term first team starter. Unless we offload all 3 of those mentioned we only really need one player who can cover all across the front line to come in or Brewster is never going to get a shot. We can't compete financially with City and buy 2 whole teams, so we have to look to develop some youngsters.}

We can afford to bring in Brandt for Lallana and Sturridge and then I think we’ll be fine, especially with the Ox returning next season. Brandt would be perfect as he can also can play LW if necessary, with any of our current front three capable of playing striker. A FB to cover and a backup GK and we’ll be ready to go again.

Whatever happened in the next couple of weeks, this side will be more experienced, and more dangerous next season again if we don’t lose anyone.

Thank you for your reply Ed. Do you do expect Brewster to get first team chance next season mate? Was he one of the 2 players not ready you referred to?

So a good shout would be someone like Brandt who could cover a few positions and then promote Brewster, with Sturridge likely moving on?

{Ed001's Note - yes, I mean Brewster and Firmino. Brewster because he had a long term injury which stopped him getting the chances he would have got through the season. Firmino because he was just not quite recovered enough to start.

Yes Brandt or similar would be ideal.}

Ed1, I think Brandt has to be pursued. You mentioned Brewster needs a shot and I agree. Brandt to cover all 3 spots as well as the number 10 role and Brewster to be bedded in. I would also go for Sessegnon as he can provide cover for Robertson but also Mane.

{Ed001's Note - Sessegnon would be a good signing, I think, but I can see him going elsewhere in London, which would be a mistake for the lad I think.}

If anything it proves that studge and Origi aren’t part of our future. We need a striker but preferably one who can play cam/ wings too as obviously we need to develop Brewster. I’d really love ya to sign Dybala, although Fekir or Depay aren’t bad alternatives.

{Ed001's Note - why Dybala?}

After the other night imo I don’t think brandt would be ideal as I believe we need an out and out goal scorer and to keep Salah and Mané on the wings, ideally a striker who can drop deeper as I previously said.

thanks Ed, what are your thoughts on Shaqiri and Lallana for next season do you think that they will still be at the club?

I am hoping that we will see wilson show that he can become a decent player for us during pre season but i feel as though it may not happen.

i am always a big fan of using the youth to help build a squad not only have they been around the club for years but it saves us a load of money!

i don't think people realised how good brewster was before he had his injury. is it possible to do a small profile on him, appreciate you have a list the length of wiltshires injury problems, but i think it would be helpful for people to really appreciate his talent and why he can potentially be a squad player next year.

{Ed001's Note - I have added him to the list but it will probably take a while!

As for Shaqiri and Lallana, Shaqiri I expect to stay, Lallana was looking to move before his injury problems so I am not sure. I doubt the interest will be there in him after those injuries.}

I would go all out for both Brandt and Sessegnon for their versatility and the fact they still have their best years in front of them. The provide cover and competition for Robbo, Mane, Salah, Ox and Keita. If the target is to challenge on all fronts, then we need to be ambitious one more time in this summer's transfer market.
Hopefully we can raise some much needed cash by selling Lallana, Origi, Chirivella, Grujic, Wilson, Camacho etc and removing Sturridge, Moreno etc from the wage bill to create space for new signings who will at least add some value to the squad. Coz let's be honest, most of the players just listed are just there at the club for the sake of it. They contribute zilch and just eat into the wage bill. That money can be used to sign better players that moves our squad quality up a notch.

{Ed001's Note - Origi contributes zilch?}

I just like him Ed and I believe Klopp would extract the huge potential he has. I believe he could play as our striker but also our David/ bernardo silva when teams are sitting deep. Don’t shoot me down! 🤐.

{Ed001's Note - why do you like him though? What do you see in him?}

9.) 04 May 2019
04 May 2019 13:56:33
I think you and Ed2 mentioned he is most likely heading to Spurs, which is a shame. Surely we can offer him a lot of game time with both the left back and left forward role plus he is a Liverpool fan, not that that matters much nowadays. Ed1 are you aware of Liverpool showing any interest in Sessegnon?

{Ed001's Note - not recently, we did a while ago though.}

10.) 04 May 2019
04 May 2019 14:06:53
Thanks Ed I do remember one of you mentioned that shaqiri is likely to leave after falling out with Klopp?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, I know he got dropped for not putting the effort in, but then he got injured and he has come back revved up like he was at the start of the season. So I don't see him leaving, though you never know, the right offer may come in which works for both him and the club.}

Looking forward to Brewster breaking through. I think this summer is more about keeping our stars than bringing anyone major in. Sessegnon would be great imo though.

04 May 2019 14:52:45
I said most of the players on that list, not all, Ed001, with Origi and to some extent Lallana (when fit) chipping in when needed. Its still not enough though. We need players that can actually push our first teamers for their place, not players a couple of rungs below the quality of our first teamers. That imo is the only missing ingredient in our squad that's stopping us from competing all fronts.

13.) 04 May 2019
04 May 2019 15:22:30
IB, you must be confusing Origi with Studge.

14.) 04 May 2019
04 May 2019 15:56:16
I’d be delighted to see Brewster take Sturridge’s place in the squad. I also wouldn’t be opposed to seeing Origi moved on.

15.) 04 May 2019
04 May 2019 16:26:18
Is Brewster a striker or does he play across the whole 3 attacking positions? I've always felt we need a centre forward in that team. Haven't seen enough of Origi to make a judgement on him, or Brewster for that matter.

16.) 04 May 2019
04 May 2019 16:43:15
Ed based In this season though would you say that Sessegnon has what it takes in the premier league? Or is it just that his team have been that poor.

I guess Spurs are a most likely destination for him?

{Ed001's Note - he is just a kid mate he has plenty of time to grow into the league.}

17.) 04 May 2019

Sell Lallana for the Nivea adverts alone or if not his habit of big talk to the press followed by rubbish performance.
