Is Mathias De Light any closer in making a decision :) every club name seems to be thrown out left right and centre from journos. Liverpool is constantly being named, makes no sense as we have 4 centre backs.

I wudnt get too excited mate we ain't after marquee signings more cover for left an right back, possibly an attacking midfielder, an possibly cover for front 3 someone who is flexible positionally ideally, oh yes an back up keeper if mings leaves.

I don’t want De Ligt, he would create imbalance. And Gomez is better.

I’d like to see us let Lovren go and bring in someone to compete who won’t be on the treatment table all the time.

I really don't understand the need to sign Di Ligt! Of course he is a talented boy but Gomez was playing way better till he got injured. Gomez has proved his ability in the premier league which Di Light has not!

DeLigt = Lovren/ Matip sale + Gomez goes from being a first team player to a rotation player for CB, RB, LB.
Is a good deal.

As per the much I have seen, de Ligt doesn't better Gomez in anything. Let's not forget how formidable van Dijk and Gomez were before the tackle from Ben Mee. Why spend so much on him when clearly he's no upgrade on Gomez? Don't see the sense in it.
With 3 to 4 players, I think we should be ready to go the next level and I like the choice of Ed01 in Aaron Martins, Nabil Fekir, Noussair Mazraoui, a replacement no 2 goalie if Mig leaves and for me, fulfill whatever promises were made to Rhian Brewster. Something different to the way we handled the big, young Serbia lad.

Aaron Martins? You mean Max Aarons? And Mazraoui? We don't need two right-backs.
Ola Aina is a very versatile young HG player who had a very good season on loan at Torino (mostly playing left wing back) . I'd be happy with either Max Aarons or Mazraoui plus Dael Fry and Fekir. Cornet if Shaqiri leaves would be fine and a few exciting kids for the youth teams as always.

Im sorry but if a top player becomes available you need to be in the mix to sign him. I love Gomez as much as the next red but De Ligt is very special. I'd be signing him up.

I don't think De Ligt is ready for the Premier League. He's not the quickest and gets caught out of position a lot. In Holland, Ajax were very good and rarely got punished because of it.

If he had to be solid week in week out, I think he'd be a weak link in a top team.

I don't rate De Ligt and he is not a patch on Gomez, IMO. Remember, VVd can make anybody look good and people seem to love De Ligt havimg watched his games for Holland, forgetting that according to Ed01, VVD has been carrying him the whole time. Gomez is the better defender and was better than De Ligt at the same age already, IMO. Gomez, all day long.
