Get in Norwich 👍.

All summer I was hearing about how Man City had so much more squad depth than us and we had to sign more players to avoid going backwards.

De Bruyne rested, no Laporte and that happens. This site would go into meltdown about lack of signings in the summer if we lost a match where van Dijk was out and Firmino was rested.

Looks like City aren't quite as immune to the absence of key personnel as I was led to believe.

Norwich reserves played them off the pitch. Seriously though they'll score some goals with that Pukki, his movement is world class.

City lost some games last season, still won the league. Great day for Liverpool but I wouldn't go shouting it from the rooftops yet.

Yea long way to go but why not enjoy city losing, there defence looked crap and all over the place,5 points clear after just 5 games where people was saying they would take being in top 4 after 6games, big test next week though.

It's still September. Let's not plan the parade just yet.

I'm not getting carried away. No one wins the league in September. But this was apparently the situation they're meant to be immune to.

Very naive something red.

City lost more games than us last season yet still won the league.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m delighted to see city lose bit they’ll only dip into the market and buy another centre back in January if needed.

They were poor and lost to Palace and Newcastle last year with similar performances but still came out on top.

Personally I think SomethingRed highlighted some great points. The gross over reaction from the replies for me highlights the biggest issue in the Premier League right now. People think or want to believe that Manchester City are this infallible, unstoppable, uncompromising machine which will sweep aside all before them. So much so that it is considered completely unacceptable to point out weaknesses or dare to criticise them.

This has lulled everybody into this sad and pathetic dream world were you should just roll over and set up for damage limitation before the game even kicks off. The problem is though, that this Manchester City team aren't perfect, and they do have multiple weaknesses. But people are too scared to highlight them or target them for fear of being embarrassed. SomethingRed made some good and balanced points, but he's Being slaughtered by sheep who've been convinced by BT and Sky pundits that City are invincible and that these kind of days are simply minor blips. If people actually analysed how easy it is to get at them though, these days would become far more common and rather than being considered blips, City would be exposed as the top heavy team they truly are.

Nobody here has written City off or claimed the league title is Liverpool's. It's quite simply been pointed out that the media hyperbole is misplaced. There are 33 games to go and the league can still be won by literally anyone. We don't need to be oblivious to the fact that this City team look weak without Kompany, Laporte and Fernandinho though. Respect them, sure. They have a world class forward line and two of the best creative midfielders in my lifetime. Stop running scared though. Their back 4 is sub-par at best.

Exactly that Plain Bread. I couldn’t believe how easily Norwich got behind their midfield and at their back 4. It happened time and time again. How? Just by committing players forward. Simple. So many teams don’t though, they are too scared of losing defensive shape which just makes it easy for City.

Hopefully teams will look at this and know that with good movement and quality you can really get at this city team if you get players past the midfield. Then when they’re behind you see the desperate shots from range which more often than not won’t get them out of a hole.

That 4-1 win vs Norwich does not look too shabby now does it?

A few good points made above to be fair. I think city face an issue in the coming months with their CB situation. Kompany and laporte, 2 huge losses in that defence. Stones and otamendi do not compliment each other to form a good partnership. They've only ever been started together 3 times as yet which shows pep hasn't trust. Similar to matip and lovren, they looked like a train wreck when playing together but play either one with VVD and he's a different player. Stones and otamendi need a kompany or a laporte.

Be interesting to see if they continue to struggle as bad as they did at back against Norwich. If pep can't sort out a solution to address that then city could be facing the prospect of dropping more points than expected before the new year.

EDs many options ye think pep might consider? Like maybe switching to a 3 at the back and using walker or fernandinho in there? The communication and understanding between all 4 defenders and even ederson was so abysmal it's clearly not going to be a quick fix with games coming thick and fast. They're now just another defensive injury away from complete disaster too it's hard to see how teams won't be able to expose them in coming months. Rodri also doesn't look as strong as fernandinho has been in that midfield role.

You mean the team that won the 3 domestic trophies last season and the League the season before? Nothing to do with BT sports or anyone else, just what's in their trophy cabinet.

For me nothing is ever as bad as it seems and the same can be said that nothing is ever as good as it seems. So City lost a game and a poster high lights about a few missing players. If Liverpool lose against Chelsea next week with their full team does that mean we should have invested in the Summer? It's over the top reactions.

Let the team do their stuff and hope that we fans don't apply any more pressure on the team and the club than is necessary. We haven't won the League in 3 generations and only team (twice) not to win it when on top at Christmas, so you can't tell me that the players, manager, staff etc don't know this and will be desperately trying to keep a lid on things.
They won't be getting out of their prams about City losing and just the same if we get beat against Chelsea.
The transfer window is closed and futile point scoring about if we should have signed a player or not are pointless at this stage.
I'm happy Liverpool won and that City lost, no more. There's a long way to go.

{Ed001's Note - right let's all just stop having any banter on a banter page because you and all the others have shot down anyone that tries. What is with all you miserable buggers these days? I can't even be arsed with this when you can't have a bit of banter about your closest opponents losing because miserable bells jump in. Its banter! If you don't like it, don't read this page.}

It is no different to your good self putting a poster down after going OTT on a Liverpool defeat or a posters reaction to a player they don't seem good enough to play for the team (I will use Henderson) for an example. Either the page is open for anyones opinion or we all just tow the party line.

Im more than happy with my post but if it isn't in line with "company policy" then I won't be bothered if it isn't posted 👍.

{Ed001's Note - what are you wittering on about? You clearly do not understand what I said, I don't know why I bothered. You are just intent on destroying any good banter with your bitter diatribes these days. You seem to just want to make snide comments against other posters rather than discuss football. It is tiresome. I don't know what your problem is but you need to take some time and think about what you are doing. If you need someone to talk to, then I am happy to listen away from the sites, but you are not contributing anything worthwhile right now, just digs at others. Maybe you are just bitter, but I remember when you actually got involved in banter and had a laugh, now you are just killing it dead. If life is getting you down, there is no point taking it out on others, you won't feel any better, you will just feel worse about it. How about when a post like this is put up, which is clearly tongue in cheek, you just join in the banter with a tongue in cheek reply of your own, rather than simply having a go at the poster?}

Life is great, thanks for asking. Plenty of sport on TV, the kids are healthy, the scenery is wonderful and the wife is hopefully going to cook something nice 😍. I honestly couldn't ask for much more.

I have to say your responses does surprise me. My replies are not to the original post but other posts below. Surely if a post is put up then we have a right to reply if you disagree with what has been said? Maybe that isn't the case!

As for my posts being bitter or having a dig at posters, well again I can't agree (entirely), just having a quick shift thru my previous posts I can see plenty that are of the banter variety and clearly not bitter at all.
I do admit to replying maybe to some posters who I think come across as a bit arrogant, i told you so type. Variety is the spice of life for me. I have more respect for the NegativeWalters and Harry's of this world who form their own opinions than the "yes men" of this site. It's the way I am and I'm comfortable with that.

Now I'm away to make a cup of tea for me and the wife in the hope that it encourages her to make that dinner. Enjoy your day Ed 👍.

{Ed001's Note - maybe it is just the ones I have seen mate, I have only seen you having a go lately. I don't edit all the time these days as I am doing articles and podcast stuff so I must just be catching the wrong replies.}
