We probably would have lost the game yesterday if VAR didn't exist. Taylor didn't give our goal and allowed theirs. Thank god for technology over refs heh!

We should not be relying VAR to give us the win. Wolves played great yesterday and deserved a draw.
I’ll be the first to hold my hands up and say I wanted VAR. but after watching all these games. It has destroyed the game as we know it.
Get rid of VAR ASAP!

I disagree. The team might react differently if those happen. The team might change their approaches after those decisions, and we might see a different result. Maybe bigger score; 3-1, 4-2 etc etc. You get what I mean? And no! The team didn't rely on VAR, they never did.

It's so easy to blame VAR. I hate VAR and think it should be scrapped, however that is not why Wolves lost yesterday. They had three clear chances in the last 15 minutes and wasted them. Two clear chances went over the bar and one selfish play where he tried to go near post when he had a wide open player in the middle for a sitter. Was the VAR decision against wolves bad? Yes, that's a goal for me every day, but Wolves wasted opportunities. Good teams overcome bad officiating.

Wolves deserved nothing from that game because they scored no legal goals and we scored 1. Nobody is relying on var. If the ref made the right decision in the first place Liverpool win 1-0 its that simple.

I thought that their goal should have stood. VAR wasn't brought in to rule out goals that were offside by a millimetre.

Then again, if it would have stood, I'd back us to get a second. Wolves came out in the second half feeling that they'd been hard done to and really upped their game. If that goal would have stood, it would have been an entirely different second half.

Yes, that Wolves goal should have stood. I've tried very hard to understand what they are doing with those drawn lines during VAR checking, but it's clear that it's all stuff that can be easily manipulated. And that will open a can of worms so I'm leaving that can closed.

What is interesting to me is that pinpoint technology is being used to marshal the last third of the pitch or the penalty area, while two thirds is left untouched. Doesn't that create an imbalance in how the game's rules are enforced? So much of the action is left to the ref and his assistants, without technological assistance. And yet the part that everyone wants more and more of, goals, is being policed more and more strictly. And creating more and more confusion about the validity of those goals. Clearly, if VAR were to be applied all over the pitch, then it would kill the game because of all the pauses in action. Something else has to be done. The protocols have to be looked at and redone.

If we do happen to win the League title this year, let's see how many people (am referring to the media) say it's a title tainted by "VAR assistance".

Put the VAR decisions to one side, if Wolves equaliser had stood then it is 1-1 at half time. This outstanding Liverpool team would have simply come out in the second half with a different mindset to get the win, just like every game this season bar Man Utd.
All teams have had issues with VAR including Liverpool, its an insult to this great team to suggest VAR has assisted in them being 13 points clear, unbeaten and easily beat their nearest challengers Man City and Leicester.

I honestly wonder if VAR could be used like the NFL. Ref makes the call, if the team feels it was wrong they have the chance to challenge. If the ref was right they give up their ability to challenge any further calls. If the ref was wrong then they still get to keep their challenge. There needs to be substantial evidence to overturn a call. If we look at the game yesterday it would have worked likely for both teams. Manes goal would count. Even Neves could have stood because, even if he was offside by a millimeter it was ruled a goal and without splitting hairs there was not substantial evidence to overturn. If the offside rule was adjusted to prevent the millimeter, armpit offside this system might work. It would limit the overuse of VAR, let the game flow smooth and put I up to the coach if they think a significant error occured. Just my thought.

Gents Wolves goal should not of counted as it showed the player to be off side all you people are now going against what VAR was brought in for a level playing field the official's have a hard enough time understanding what is a foul and what is not a foul to make decisions on offside goals VAR is needed for every team to enjoy the fore mentioned level playing field it will even its self out for all over a season.
