Do you think vvd has been leaving a space for the opposition to shoot intentionally as he knows Allison is positioned rightly?

It seems to me they have been practicing that.

Thanks for your time.

Why on earth would VVD deliberately let the opposition shoot!

I can see where shaunhk is coming from. he left space for the striker to have a shot yesterday. Weather is him being a tad lazy or letting him strike I don’t know.

I think he means he sometimes allows the attacker to shoot from tight angles and blocks off the pass into the middle of the box. VVD plays the percentages better than any other defender.

I heard Gary Neville recently say that Peter Schmiechel told his defenders not to stick a foot or a leg out at a shot going past them as any deflection would cause him more difficulty than dealing with the original shot. Maybe there is something similar going on between Alisson and the Liverpool defenders?

Maybe it's a directive from Allison so there's no deflection on the ball?

Spot on Mark it’s about decision making. How many times do you see Virgil back off rather than diving in for balls other defenders would go for and miss? Sometimes I think he just encourages players to shoot if the alternative is more dangerous.

He covers more dangerous passes and leaves a shot open that alisson is more than capable of saving if its crossed in alisson has to reposition himself just a numbers game and faith that alisson is as good as we think he is.
